  1. You should follow your advice and avoid talking about Captain Jack. Who you previously have labelled a ‘rugby player.’
  2. They seem comfortable to have JVR as the back up ruck to Grundy so not necessarily. I would go in trying to overwhelm Essendons backs with height and then abandon in the third if not working. Out: Hibberd (managed/inj) In: Brown Petty back. Unless there is something I am missing - I would go with this. Harmes doesn’t slot back in anymore, JJ/Sparrow interchangeable almost, Petty experiment can continue soon. But if they want to keep it going it might be time for Howes for Hibberd?
  3. It’s an excuse to have another round of footy. IT’S AKIN TO GOD AND HIS WILL
  4. Re-signings in priority order: 1. Pickett 2. Rivers 3. Chandler 4. ANB 5. Jordon Easy: Woey Retire: Hibberd, Melksham Delist: Dunstan If JJ isn’t signed up then I don’t lose much sleep tbh. Chandler is emerging and ANB is a crucial role player. Pickett and Rivers are the next generation mids that complement our bulls and we need to keep them if we want to stay at the top.
  5. Rivers and Pickett are the two players that are refreshing our midfield. They are must keep in my eyes and that may mean Sparrow, JJ and/or Harmes leaves. That’s AFL footy.
  6. Essendon have a number of undersized KPDs so we could try to go bigger but beware the midfield that is happy just bombing it in there - it will backfire spectacularly.
  7. The Engine (ANB, Spargo, Chandler) is just purring atm and my god it is so funny to watch all these teams just put absolute numpties on these three. You want to close us down - shut down The Engine. But if you show no respect, they will torch you.
  8. This will sound trite (when has that stopped me) but Gawn being injured for 6 weeks is the best thing for Brodie to get comfortable being our main ruck. Gawn will settle into the best back up ruck the game has ever seen and FF and our forward line will suddenly cause a bunch of headaches for the FD. We need to manage that group (Gawn, Grundy, JVR, Brown, TMac, Petty) to ensure we have headaches come September. *JVR managed due to age and Petty ‘managed’ due to him looking lost by sending him back to get confidence.
  9. An absolute killer. The true tragedy of his career is that he will never have the joy of receiving a pass from himself into the 50.
  10. I cannot believe I argued in good faith with the Doctor… Lambmentable…
  11. Perhaps. But that would mean that posters on here would petition the league for us to play 25 on the field “OTHERWISE WE WILL LOSE PLAYER X AND IT WILL BE A DISASTER”
  12. could be bottom 4 by end of round… I have GWS and Geelong winning and going above Freo.
  13. Part time Johnny must be interested in footy on a part time basis if you know what I mean. Maybe he needs to go back to 5 days a week if you know what I mean.
  14. I love Jaded. Love her… But I get 4 laugh emojis and her 9?
  15. God, we have some overblown nonsense in this thread. Its hard for good young players to keep a spot in this midfield unless you are special. Deal with it.
  16. It wouldn’t be a real time connection which means it would be manually updated by someone. People be on holidays.
  17. Again with Judd out. You would have to be the only person on here surely? You been watching him play?
  18. I would keep the trade period open for the first 6 weeks of the season and then slam it shut. Essentially, I would try to make sure the Tomlinson’s and Goldstein’s are tradeable when teams know they are superfluous which is AFTER the preseason and into the first few rounds and then close that ‘trade deadline’ for the season. I understand the desire for a mid-season period but I think it is too disruptive and will be under utilised that far into a season where teams IP is tantamount to state secrets.
