How about we set JVR up to succeed and pair him with a proven fwd, yeah? Brown started the season well and allows JVR to have the second or third defender. And can you show some respect to some great Demons because you’re losing yours.

Welcome to fandom. The proof of the ‘players injured players’ pudding is in the eating and it was a bad mouth feel watching us unable to compete in last thirds of games from early on in the season and then unable to compete for the finals third of the season itself. All the while our untried VFL team nearly went unbeaten the whole year. They screwed it up, I and a few others saw it happen, and we get to point it out where and when we want. It’s the law.

Oh is it now? Thanks for defining the discussion we are having - you’d be fun at parties. We played half the team last year at various stages through injury that I mused at the time and has since been confirmed through the drip-drip of interviews and players saying they were struggling. We didn’t need to play them all, sore as they were, and we don’t need to risk Gawn now. We can defer to the experts that we employ but even they have pulled the pin on Lever and May this year for things, I would argue, they would have played through last year.

He’s watched too much ESPN… PTI and First Take ruined sports commentary shows over there for different reasons - but the generated friction is the most nauseous movement in the way the media covers sports. Jabba the Hut-chison is the OG but you can ignore him. Kane is everywhere and occasionally has a cogent thought so it’s harder to avoid.

Spend 10 mins explaining what being ‘5%’ off in the contest means. Not first to the contest, lose territory. Make it harder on the backs, mids chasing tail. Not competitive in clearances, forward handballs at stoppages. Clean kicks into backline, May becomes less relevant as ball is cleaner and to advantage. There are plenty of other examples of how, in the world of 6-6-6, you can get punished if you don’t show up mentally prepared and connected against any team.

Being a bit harsh on those three with the whole team playing so poorly. Personally, I wouldn’t have started Melksham and when Brown comes back I think he provides more than McDonald to compliment JVR and be dangerous deep when Gawn comes back. Tomlinson is depth for Lever so no problem there. We just can’t compete when we are so lacking in spark and dare.

Stagnant and no spark and joy and The Engine (Spargo, ANB, Chandler) was impotent and hampered of course with injury. Even before the 50+ mins without a goal, we piled on in two flourishes and were trash around that. Look arrogant tbh. And waiting for someone else to do something. This is what happens when you are off, you get punished in this league.
