  1. The problem with Raynor fwd is that it’s too attacking to have Cameron, McCarthy, and Raynor there. We have ANB or Spargo that get up to the defensive side of the ground and then run hard forward. Neither of the Lions three do that so they are probably looking for balance and only Raynor is a chance to be a good HBF.
  2. My son was born in 2020. He will never know pain and suffering.
  3. Yeah, bring back those that have done most of the PS and aren’t the best FB we have ever had with a tight calf. Viney and Fritsch in.
  4. And that is with the season starting earlier than usual…
  5. He is a definite upgrade on Tommy Toothless but that shouldn’t surprise based on what we are paying him. I still think he is underdone after an injury ruined 2022 and if he stays injury free - he will just get better and better. His [censored] just looks too big for what his body wants to do. Exciting times!
  6. This post is effing catnip for this place. If it were a powder, I’d wait hours to do a Ginnivan in the Demonland toilets… Ah, there’s wyl going back for secondsies!
  7. Amazing how there are some players that ‘go unnoticed’ and others that ‘didn’t do anything I noticed’… All our role players in the midfield need to work hard to release our stars - but then what they do from there is their judgement and their jury.
  8. I think he’s both. Our midfield doesn’t lack much but if you said to me; let’s put a quick witted and footed skilled ball user (Pickett) and a strong body with an excellent line breaking long kick and good vision (Rivers) in there, I would say…
  9. I think Trent Rivers is our next midfielder to compete for time there with CO13, CP5, JV7, JH4, and KP36. Ahead of Sparrow in my eyes.
  10. It was the Rolls Royce himself; Travis Johnstone. But yeah I like the former players -decorated or not, coming back.
  11. Some think he is a star-to-be, personally, I don’t see it. Sewell would be a good comparison.
  12. Sparrow too. It’s odd being judgemental for a team that started like that but that’s selection with 4 of our best 8 players out.
  13. Don’t go mate. Bad sign and all that. Won’t be a great time. … YOUR PRESENCE MAKES US LOSE! I’m sorry, I overreacted. Enjoy the game.
  14. It’s what happens when a group becomes comfortable and no one pushes to change the status quo.
  15. It’s all comparative to the best teams of 2023. And we just can’t be certain yet, that’s all I am saying. The proof is the pudding eating as they say.
  16. These night games ain’t good for you people. Its the waiting that… …turns you insane.
  17. While I think your summation is fine, you can’t have certainty of our fitness and how well drilled we are after 2 practice games. I am appreciative that we seem to have learned the lesson of last year and not played under prepared players ahead of our depth, and that we look to have good synergy leading into this game. But that is as certain as I will be. Dees by 28
  18. The pies remind me of the Dees in 2021. Just can’t hate that footy. Taking the game on and backing your skills. Not overcoached. Not much stilted play. And they made Geelong look old and slow.
  19. You know those nightmare films where the protagonist is awful because of some curse and everyone is trying to kill them and then they take off some totem and all is good again? That is how I feel about Cam Guthrie’s hair. I was all ready to resume my hate of the bloke and I just can’t get it up. Shame.
  20. Like being Melbourne’d back in the day except you’re a deadset f log.
  21. That’s cute. I mean, it’s cute when they say that but we can cut the [censored] yeah? On here, as anonymous Dees fans - we can cut that [censored] out? They are role players. By definition, people. By definition.
  22. I think that is a bit galaxy brain to think that Oliver is as replaceable as ANB. You cannot replace your best players, their talent and consistent performance is existentially important for us to being a top 4 team. We can’t replicate that. Now ANB plays an important box-to-box role as a fwd. I get that. But that is more replaceable than what our top 10 most talented performers provide. Also, as an aside, he is valued but he was told his skill execution and decision making has him on thinner and thinner ice as our depth catches up to him.
