    Logical
  2. Oh FCS, I did something similar to Fat Tony last year and was howled down; we would have very little cap space with the list we have and the fact that we absorbed Grundy and have resigned Pickett. Unless we move players a few middling first teamers or a star - we aren’t getting big names.

    Get 1, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 11, 13, 31, and 36 to a prelim and see what happens. Thats my motto. Rolls off the mother [censored] tongue…

Good thing it’s an even year.

You know what he bb is saying. As an aside, it is the very thing that will stunt JVR’s development - the way we move the footy and kick to packs in slow play. There’s no forward craft there, there is no lessons in movement and finding space, he will have to go defensive side of wing to get footy and no one gives a [censored] when your CHF is doing that.

We should win in Mordor in front of those people - so that should be fun. We are playing ok, we are just sloppy and forever waiting for someone else to ignite us. The disease of ‘why me?’ is a thing in bball teams with star laden teams, maybe there is a bit of that. Hard to say.

Yeah, saw the same. Looked pretty unencumbered with some ‘ball use run throughs’ so basically, ball kicked in front, pick it up at pace, then pick it up to the left, then right, then pick it up in square, u turn and hit a target - he did that as well as most humans. But he is a bit more than that now isn’t he

    HOW DARE YOU
  9. Ridiculous comment 68er and not even amusing. Queanbeyan is not a part of Canberra and never has been. Memberships for NSW dogs would be re-routed if sent to Canberra! Re-routed!
  10. What was the cheering about? It’s not like it was James McDonald returning after being treated like a Stark in kings landing. Jackson got his plaudits and has his own set of cashed up nuffies out west to cheer him on for sitting the right way on the toilet seat. Just ridiculous.
  11. It’s not great… But, and it is an important but, the way we move the footy gives the forwards very little opportunity. We go slow, we go short, we go flanks/pockets - it is a real shame because JVR won’t develop in that, TMac or BBB won’t excel in that, Kozzie won’t showcase in that, and we won’t win with that. We play boring footy. Where inspiration goes to die and hope turns to ashes - that is how we move the footy.

With Oliver out - this now becomes a ‘system’ driven team as everyone has said we are at our best. I think we rely on our stars far too much and our system ramps up intermittently when we feel like engaging in some run and dare and forward half intensity when we don’t have the ball. Well no easy outs for the next month - you have to commit to playing connected footy for 100 mins or we will just make up the numbers.
  13. I have had my critiques of the handling of things but I am well aware how many amazing players we have and the health of the list and the club. I have structured my rare holidays around getting down to the next three games at the G to see this amazing team. I will try to stay in the moment and enjoy it. Not hard with this city and that ground. IM HIGH ON THE HILL LOOKING OVER THE BRIDGE To you know where…

PUT IT ON THE ‘EMBARRASSING RECORDS’ LIST Two words. Chris. Scott.

    Next skipper
  16. I was pointing out our issues with defensive intensity in the forward half and possible fade out issue when we won 10 straight games, a few of us were; so winning does not mean we don’t have issues. We look a lot better than last year and this season is so even so I am not panicking but that common refrain that whatever it is, they’ll sort it out’ is not an argument against critique - it’s an argument against bothering to log on here and talk about the Dees. Of course we want them to work it out - we even give our own thoughts on the challenges we need to overcome. And lastly, you say it’s easy to be negative, when it was apparently much easier last year to be the ‘Fox with the fire all around’ and say ‘it’s fine’, there was so much surprise on here when we went out in straight sets…

    Wow. Bold.

Then we are not competing for the flag. If we cannot rest one of our galaxy of stars - then we cannot lose them to injury - and that is an excuse. They don’t get that from me. I expect to win this Saturday.

Why didn’t we ‘manage’ our best players during that period? More rhetorical questions…

Injuries happen. He is so durable and he will weeks in the middle of a season. The best time if we are to be a contender. Also, can we just go and hunt the footy?
  21. 1-1 like it matters tho
  22. And it comes to a cross roads next week for both.
  23. I hope they brutalise each other
  24. I will take the errors for the enterprise he brings. We simply can’t fall back into leaving spark and movement to Hibberd and Rivers. When we get boring and tight - that’s when we lose. I hope he never loses that dare and confidence.

That’s my query. This group last year was obviously impacted by injury and fitness; we would play a half and then wilt - this team seems to ‘be inspired’ at random moments before retreating back in its shell. Goodwin has to get that inspiration for longer or we are a threat to waste this generation of talent.
