  1. A noble ambition, young padawan. Thats less creepy if you’re a Star Wars fan. I said less creepy, not not creepy.
  2. Fraught exercise, @Lucifers Hero… Just so hard to know market value for players like Rivers, Sparrow, Spargo, etc. They haven’t shown more than role player ability and consistency but that is valuable for winning flags. We have such a good list right now, we will continue to lose good players for moderate contracts…
  3. We all would but the notifications of the borish back and forth you had with wyl is distracting.
  4. In that is confirmation that the intention is to make Gawn a primary FP/FF and gave Grundy take the majority of ruck contests through the middle. One may play behind the ball from time to time or to halt momentum but we can clearly see the intent to push teams with height in forward line. Don’t think we can play Gawn, Brown, TMac and Fritsch but hmmm…
  5. Well from someone who does listen to him; he backed us to win all the way through 2021 when other were waiting for us to ‘Melbourne’ or completely ‘Melbourne up the place’ or simply just ‘Melbourne at the wrong time.’ He’s fine.
  6. General comment but you can agree or disagree: the inclusion of Pickett, Rivers, Spargo, and to a lesser extent Sparrow into midfield rotations and stoppage structures indicates a natural maturation of those players and of the FD to avoid the sins of last year where we seemingly had depth but no adaptability or flexibility of the roles that the depth players could play.
  7. Yes that jumped out at me too. Surprised it wasn’t on the commentary really. They’re always missing things…
  8. And where are the flunkies telling the world no-one wants to go out to Casey. Pretty good turnout out there in that interdimensional wasteland and scene from a post-apocalyptic movie (if it’s critics are to be believed).
  9. Yes, I would agree. Fitting Gawn/Grundy, Fritsch, TMac, and Brown isn’t tenable in my view.
  10. I have no idea how you can take offence at that post, to the point where you start your post with such animosity. I don’t think the internet is for you, Deeluded.
  11. The proof will be in pudding eating on the following in about a month but; we looked like running a number of players through the middle and they looked like they knew structure and clearance tactic. I hope that is what we see against WB, BL and Syd because then it will mean mitigation of what we saw last year.
  12. Conflation. The Doctor delayed in getting some players in for post season surgeries prior to the 2019 season and hampered their preparation for that year.
  13. I remember talking about this last year and a few on here were lambasting me for suggesting that the club would be playing injured players. Happens all the time and we had too many of them and should have looked at who could be replaced. I hope the FD sees the depth in a better light this year.
  14. Ok, great… We need to stop looking at raw numbers of members as they are increasingly meaningless. And I am not olddee. But good chat.
  15. Raw numbers are pointless to look at now. The saints were selling $1 memberships last year. It’s about revenue. It’s about selling out Trident, Redlegs, et al. I think we do pretty well with that.
  16. $23m will literally earn a $1m a year sitting in the bank in interest. So sitting on your hands has its advantages.
  17. Probably earning 5% somewhere…
  18. I think they will go the other way and try to win the ball around the ground and compete in stoppages as best they can. Its up to us to punish them for that arrogance and dismissiveness. Taps need to hit hands and we need to win clean stoppages. Don’t care about raw numbers of clearances but we need to smash clean take aways with chest facing goal.
  19. Did someone in this thread really say I should be appreciative of McGuire giving us home QB for a few years? Ridiculously favourable draws, far less travel, etc. they got enough breaks to throw a few bones out. This historical revisionism is vile, nearly up there with those Americans that say “we never talk about the ‘good’ slave holders?!”
  20. Destabilising? This isn’t Panama in the 80s, it’s a good player that is sought after. With Oliver and Petracca signed up through the decade, and us being generally [censored] forever - we have zero frame of reference for how to behave when good players come out of contract. Its embarrassing really.
  21. Made that exact point so I am with you ill
