  1. Speed forwards, Stafford mentions it all the time. Aren’t we supposed to listen to what the people club say?
  2. If Pies are to tank, it would have to be heavy Soviet-era tank; Essendon are that bad.
  3. Yeah, I agree, we have improvement in us but as a warning and a possible explainer for an impotent September, it’s important to note where we’re at. As for Rivers - it is so important we keep him free to ignite.
  4. ND4 still on but the Reid deal is dead now. All good. Chucking a bonafide young talent into this team will be fantastic. They may dangle ND4 to get a star KPF and I would encourage that but it would have to be a game changer. McKay after a medical on his shoulders, Naughton after a medical on his knees, but I am naming those two without knowing what talent is there in U/18s.
  5. I would tell them to lie down because I would have murdered them Dont give me hope like that DONT DO THAT TO ME
  6. I said this a few weeks back - we are not going to be ‘out of games’ but we will have periods of dominance that I just don’t think we are going to be able to capitalise on with the way we move the ball and the space and entries that we create. 61 Inside 50 for 87 points. Never sneeze at a tough win against a resurgent Hawks (they need to be remain dead a bit longer so let’s hope something happens) but we have not seen our finals forward line and we have not seen the best of our ball movement.
  7. Reported on here that he failed a fitness test before the game. Not looking good.
  8. Percentage will matter if we don’t win by a few goals at least. For example, if we win 129 to 103 we will still be 7th. Our percentage win in this game cannot be lower than 127.18. So if they score 80, we need to score 102. 85 - 109 90 - 115
  9. Not whether he can play a full game we won’t.
  10. Perhaps, but I would prefer to see if he can run out a game.
  11. The tech isn’t good enough but also it was good enough to overturn last night. The frame rate is reprehensible for a pro league. News corp and Seven shell out the cash to keep others out of the game. They do not care about providing a good product. It’s stuff ups like this that take the air out of following the league, same with the fixture and with umpiring in general.
  12. We have a ‘Gawn type issue’ in the women’s team with a dominant ruck coming nearer to the end and Lauren also struggles to impact forward to allow a back up decent minutes. It’s not one to worry about just yet but it’s the one downside to the amazing strike rate of rucks this club has had for 40 years.

If you would have told me 10 years ago that an Aussie manager in 2023 will have beaten Man Utd in a game for points and we would come 4th in either WC I would have been pretty rude.
  14. I get what you are saying. They are hardly rants, although I can harp. And I have nuance about this trade and what is next for it - I just effing hate it when people will say something to your face as if it’s a certainty and when it doesn’t happen - they just move on as if they never thought it.
  15. Ladies and gentlemen, today we gather to bid farewell to the Geelong Football Club, a team that provided endless, until now, joy to a backwards people that like two thing; pingers and surfing. With a penchant for government money and an uncanny ability to recruit absolute chards, the Cats have been a source of pain for those of us who relished in their misfortunes. Their legacy of shattered dreams has now been renewed and long may it flourish. The way they managed to raise hopes only to let them plummet into the depths of despair was a true masterpiece of psychological torment. The Geelong Football Club served as a stark reminder that even the most seemingly formidable opponents can be brought down by hubris and Jack freaking Higgins. Through their numerous grand final losses and heartbreaking defeats, the Cats inadvertently united their adversaries in a shared delight of witnessing their downfall. Recent history put to one side, we will always be grateful for the unforgettable moments of schadenfreude they provided us, reminding us that even the mightiest can stumble when it matters most. So let us not mourn the demise of the Geelong Football Club, but instead celebrate the joy that this has brought to the football community, as we revel in the joy of what the Matildas have done these last few weeks, can we also shed a happy tear for a September where Chris Scott can wail and groan violently to kitchen staff as his Tex Mex takes just that little bit too long on his stop in Dallas as he tours international clubs looking for someone who wants to talk to him. May this legacy be one of humility and a testament to the shared humanity and grace of those that only go over the Westgate to get to the Hume the other way when it’s bonkers up at the ring road. SIGNED @rpfc @Jaded No More Note: call them chards, rp. It’s like a beet or something.
  16. Got it in my wallet
  17. What is happening right now to Essendon is going to bring the footy world together. A victimless crime.
  18. They are a fun club
  19. EDEN ZANKER IS A DESTROYER OF WORLDS
  20. Plenty of water to go under the bridge - I just don’t ignore the tonnage of water that’s already flowed.
  21. This would be one of those things that happened when you were living overseas - we helped facilitate breast cancer awareness and some men were so secure in their sexuality that they could wear pink/salmon clothing. Still there are some that projected their own homophobic self hatred but that’s a history lesson for a different mirror.
  22. HOW ELSE WILL THEY LEARN
  23. In light of his non-selection a few may need to revisit their confident dismissiveness they met the reports/opinions of Grundy possibly not playing finals, leaving the club in October, and the whole thing being a misguided venture.
  24. If you were in the Demonland Pub and loudly asked that question, you would be yelling ‘Anyone?’ over about 15 people telling you ‘we would go and get someone to backup Gawn who is less expensive and more comfortable playing less and/or playing more forward’ So meek posturing aside - if Grundy wants to go we will facilitate and that recalibration may make us a better team.
