I’m biased being a forward and a former forwards coach - I have never been comfortable with how we have leveraged our forward players to supplement our defence. And it really does impact how ‘easy’ it is for us to kick goals and get favourable match ups. I assume this will be addressed by the FD over the summer.

Too many things up in the air with our draft capital and forward line predicament. Also coaching appointments may mean we are more attacking off HB, or with the wing position…

Those of you trying to placate your own Dees bias is a bit rich; we knew what we were getting. A ruck who struggles forward coming to a team with the worst situation imaginable for that player; a better ruck and a dearth of healthy forwards to enable Grundy to play a small role in our forward line. It was a mistake from the point they spoke to Grundy last year. We may not be too adversely impacted from a long term or draft capital POV but I would have much preferred we spent $650k on forwards who might have been a chance to play the last two weeks Its ok, mistakes get made but can we just admit that and move on - some of you are contorting yourselves to avoid that admission.

Yes, the AFL would love to see two northern state teams battling it out. All they care about is money and attention and that would bring both to markets that they need exposure in.

Like a few - this is tough to do Saturday after the Friday night but there are always plenty when you win 16 regular season games. Rivers has taken a leap. Sparrow has continued his linear development. McVee and JVR are in their second year of footy and are best 18 players. Not only is that healthy for the future, it’s actually needed from a salary cap POV. Contest winning team - never out of games and always a chance. How great is it that we never get blown out - no team is safe against us (hence the choking references) Last quarter dominance - fitness is back to where it was in 2021 and we were running over the top of the ground at the end of games. Petracca is a beast that will make me rethink my ‘Oliver is the best player I have seen’ belief. He should just do what he wants during games - like Kate Hore - just go anywhere and do whatever but you have to be in the 50 for at least 40 minutes a game.
