  1. About time @Dappa Dan wrote a thesis! Kudos! Honestly, we are at the point where we are trying to be a Sydney. A team that wins games they shouldn’t and stay competitive for years past their ‘use by’ date. We are not there yet but we are close and it may come in the next two weeks. I want to be around to see it, I have put up with much worse than this on false hope and I am not about to argue with the reality that we are a good team that just needs to put it together for 4 quarters against a good team in a game that means something. Even if I have to wait until next year...
  2. Yeah, I love how we play and our focus on contested footy. But I have never had a season where I get the text on a Thursday night about selection and be confused on so many occasions. Petty against St Kilda. Pedersen as back against a team without talls. Spargo playing so much footy for a kid in the most gruelling role in modern footy. I would persevere with Garlett because I assume we fix how we enter the forward line and then he becomes more dangerous at the feet of Hogan and T Mac. Out: Pedersen, Spargo, Hunt In: Melksham, Hibberd, Kent
  3. A player used to drive me up the wall because when anything went wrong, he would look at his shoes and betray his anxieties and his lack of confidence. We are 12 and 8 and looking to make some noise in September - why would they be dispondent or angry? They have a job to do - regroup and take it up to WCE next week.
  4. I am more concerned with where the mids kick to and where the situate themselves when we have repeat entries. They over commit and our opponents transition out and through us like butter. Transition is a bball term and it is fitting here because it is down the other end regularly beating the shot clock... Forwards coach isn’t the problem. Frontrunning mids with poor skills is the problem.
  5. Is sore and fighting through it. He is a beast. We are not making the most of our two fantastic tall forwards. Leave him alone.
  6. Highly likely that even if we win only one more we could have a home final. Assuming we are competitive in the other two games. If Haw beats Sydney in the last round they will be top4, if they don’t we could be 5th. Dont see much value in that second win unless there is more drama around us.
  7. I am a fan of Tyson but he had to lift and he has. The real fallacy is that ‘we don’t need Tyson.’ In form, he is an accumulator of footy with a great footy IQ and above average skills. And a best 22 player. We talk often about ‘your bottom 6’ players and what that means. If Tyson is in form and in that group - I know what that means...
  8. Might have played his last game for the club and his career obit can come later, but he has been fantastic for this club and I hope he can play a part in a successful September - I just thinks it’s unlikely.
  9. They really rate Hunt. That's what I read out of this weeks selection...
  10. It seems to be at its worst when we dominate possession and it is in our own half for so long that we over commit. So I think it will be better when we play better teams tbh... Sydney will be brave, I think they will soak up pressure, allow us to clog ourselves and our forward line and look to punish us with Buddy playing a 1-1 battle on the wing as a release and then kick into a very sparse forward line with their smalls. We need to be disciplined and not over commit, but really, our first entry into the forward line needs to hit a target half the time...
  11. Titus is good. @Big Demon is bad. 2 weeks? Roundhouse off the ball that was hard enough to cause ‘unviable’ teeth... Go watch UFC.
  12. I often say that footy clubs are made of 80+ unique individuals. Some very unique... He gives a spark when the group needs one. He’s different. That’s good.
  13. Not a great look, out for the year, love to get him to the Dees.
  14. So the poster formerly known as Deeluded, who is currently using the moniker that sounds out 'deviate,' is stretching sane and coherent thought... How does anyone react to that anymore?
  15. I don't know, I have my moments.
  16. Ridiculous round of footy.
  17. Results have been good for us so far. We should be confident against the Swans and then play the Eagles with eyes on their spot on the ladder. Then a home game against a team as good as us to have a home final... We are definitely capable of it. Might need to come out of the huddle at 3qtr time tho...
  18. What the others said. Also, you misspelled ‘negative’...
  19. All Garlett has to do defensively is ‘enough’ - we have no one like him offensively and considering how many inside 50s we get, he is so valuable for what he brings on offensively.
  20. Garlett is our only small forward that gets to the right spots from an attacking POV. I would do all we can to keep him in there.
