  1. Friend of mine finished his career because of a concussion due to a sling tackle into the ground. Was in the action of kicking. He was breathing like a British bulldog for 5 mins and when he came to he could only name me, no other question he could answer for hours. Really scary.
  2. When I get the old “a friend of mine is a Melbourne supporter” I always go with the “oh ok! A friend of yours?!” With mirth in my voice. ”Well you tell them that it’s perfectly acceptable and they should feel comfortable showing their true feelings” I say with a wink. ”I hope your ‘friend’ enjoys the Dees next year” I say with a chuckle.
  3. Looks like the club staff stuck around for the best office Xmas party ever. Daisy was there, Shannon Byrnes. And is that Darren Burgess on the left?
  4. So Burgess and Griffith are big on heat training as a way to increase the body’s ability to increase what it can do. While I didn’t give you any ‘heat’ I did roll my eyes intensely at your posts because these people are professionals. It’s not an oversight - it’s the point. And their practices helped us win a flag. Burgess talks about heat training in his podcast with Peter Brukner. I would advise you give that a listen.
  5. No, it’s a possibility you can still elect to have one sent to you in your pack. I said don’t bother but give me the scarf.
  6. Level 4 and went to the David Neitz bar like it was our personal pub whenever we wanted.
  7. You decide. Log in to your membership account and it should prod you to decide on what you want in your pack and whether you want a ‘novelty’ card.
  8. I think so. Jake Bowey the youngest living premiership player??
  9. Understandable. Some say I have an unhealthy interest in Geelongs eventual implosion. I disagree. Its entirely healthy.
  10. Again, the ads are tailored to individuals so

what’s up with you, man?!
  11. Might want to play bball
 or not play AFL
 He’s 15 yeah?
  12. Umm, I don’t think so, Gil. Maybe if it was a Friday night

  13. Yeah, I don’t know where all this positive feedback is coming from. Just a bizarre decision. I still think we will get 80k+ to a weds night flag unfurling but it isn’t inviting.
  14. That was the target? Who laid that egg?
  15. Whatever. Just announce something. Also, since when do we have Wednesday night games? Weird. They want to have 4 of the 9 games standalone night games in the first round? Whatever.
  16. What frustrates me is the narrative around ‘later picks, being the true measure of recruitment’ Ah nooooooo. Bitter experience tells me that the true measure is what you do with the picks at the top of the draft as they define your success and Taylor has been pure magic. The centre square that drove in our dark fate in the 3rd qtr in the GF, aside from Viney, were top 4 picks; Petracca, Oliver and Jackson. I admire the late picks but I revere the early picks.
  17. I doubt it. If that was the case, another club would have made us pay something for him. He is what the scoreboard says he is. A late selection. Good luck to him.
  18. Roos didn’t rebuild the club around himself because he knew he was there for such a short time. He was like the best consultant you could possibly get. I think Goodwin is going to be remembered as the fulcrum of our renaissance but we don’t need to diminish Roos. Its not zero sum - all can get credit. Jackson, Bartlett, Roos, McCartney, Mahoney, MacPherson, Viney, Taylor, Lamb
a long list of people who did a great job turning this place around.
  19. Fritsch kept us in it early taking every opportunity and they both turned the tide but Petracca won the arm wrestle and then broke the arm.
  20. Yes, I don’t know why the zombie of Brad Scott is doing the announcing of the picks. Halloween is over and once again with Americanisation of our great sport

  21. Looks like we see more value in keeping a selection for the pre-season than speculating on a kid not seen too much. Sounds pretty smart. Like the look of both picks. Good couple of nights.
  22. Give me some credit, @Demonstone I mentioned the wrong McLaughlin too
Mum says I am funny, it is all of you that are wrong
  23. Ummm, I think you will find Hamish McLaughlin is in charge now
 BTW
