  1. AFL Tribunal saying that holding ground and bracing is much worse than running full pace jumping and meeting a player with eyes for the footy in the head with their hip. AFL needs to appeal and then the need another review of the set up if this is what we are getting.
  2. Luke really should be going to a dentist or orthodontist for that.
  3. I didn’t say he is pathetic, i intimated his act was pathetic, and it was. Luke is a good person and loyal to a fault. But I think we saw those fault lines and it was a detriment to him and the game.
  4. I think Bjork would agree that we can only judge people on what they reveal - we don’t know what excuses (or reasons) Luke had to talk to a journalist like that. What we do know is that he belittled a person, called a conflict, brought into question the integrity of someone, and eschewed the leaking of his own colleagues to harangue someone else. And this is after another poor performance from his team which the press conference should have focussed on. He has done this before to Cornes and Barrett and we allow it because those two can be onerous and odious but let’s not allow someone to do what he did last Wednesday night without consequences; especially when it is just the label of ‘pathetic.’
  5. It wasn’t public but our review identified that Goodwin didn’t have enough support and even the man himself says he wasn’t coping well and needed more help. Cue Williams, Yze and a flag. CW right to criticise Beveridge for that outburst - it was OTT and quite pathetic really.
  6. rpfc replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
May is a star but so are Salem and Lever. You can’t replace your best players. I expect to beat GC and Essendon (on exposed, very exposed form) but the best will exploit us. Salem and Lever make up a quarter of our galaxy of stars - important and irreplaceable. May, Gawn, Fritsch, Petracca, Oliver, and Langdon are the other 6 IMO.
  7. Touk Miller.
  8. Smith was awkward and put his hands up and then tried to them say “I’m not doing anything!1!1!” Of course it’s a free, imagine if lil Charlie Spargo - liddle Chuck Spargs - had something like that happen to him?? Appalled we would be! Until the free was paid and justice served!
  9. And the cockiest of them all; Chapman and Stevie J. They we’re stacked.
  10. Geelong had stars up and down the field and they were cocky too. Scarlett, Bartel, Ablett, Hawkins, Selwood, Enright, Kelly, Corey, Taylor. Systems make you competitive but stars win you flags.
  11. Niall is more clumsy verbally than written. I am the same. Petracca, Oliver and Gawn are in top 5 players in the league atm and they know it. As they should. It’s the flip side of expectation and I hated Geelong for it. Think I might enjoy it from our Demons though

  12. What an awful quarter of football. Disgusting to watch.
  13. Of course he did. Cue @Clint Bizkit Also those talking about him being ‘cancelled’; he is experiencing ‘consequences’ not cancellation. Some of you are even alluding to saying things like this in your past. If you still think that talking like that about a colleague, or joking about blacks, gays, and women being treated worse than a white man should not see consequences then you are a dinosaur and your value is to museums and oil concerns.
  14. This cannot be the measure of commentary for a TELEVISION broadcast. I can see where the ball is, they need to add to that. At the moment most subtract from that. Martin Tyler was a great commentator of the round ball because he would allow silence, the roar of the crowd, and the vision aide his commentary. They should study that.
  15. Why can’t parents use the internet and but merch and memberships? I don’t buy this ‘more saturdays for kids to get there’ as a spur for that stuff.
  16. I love that we won being a bit sloppy on the back of some confident ball movement, Petracca, Brown, and the pluckiest backline this side of the Thames! But the real story for me is the Dogs - they are not what we all thought. They do have too many front runners and I can see how Macrae and Hunter fighting over the cheapies out the back can become tiresome. They need Smith to become a bull now to help Bont or they won’t beat us or BL or the best teams.
  17. It’s like the appendix of connective tissues.
  18. Maybe in Round 1
Although we were down to May when Lever and Salem were down. He did well.
  19. I coached from the boundary too and I found it really good at keeping your emotions in check and staying positive because you were a minute away from seeing your best players come off and could have a chat and look them in the eye. Which is the most important thing a coach can do while the game is live; impress upon your best players as the come for a rest. Yelling down the phone is just the worst.
  20. Not in round 1.
  21. This makes sense. Why would it be so silent if not for the audio being withheld. Shame. Libba deserved a public spray for his refusal to sweep in the centre at the end of the third. If this were the NFL - he would have been roasted for the last 3 months.
  22. That backline still has its three best players and the others are ‘replacement players’ (US sporting term to denote those that are just as good as ‘the next man up’) with the exception of Petty for Smith. Interested to see what they do with Bradshaw and Harmes. Both don’t like playing out of position but one can contribute and the other waits for Viney to get hurt
Strong team and we should win. Looking forward to tomorrow. See you there Dees fans.
