  1. I remember that vividly, I believe it was Docklands turf that did it?? He would be an impactful winger or Harmes-type role in todays team. Could kick a helicopter though

  2. I will note that there is no date for withdrawal.
  3. He isn’t. Selwyn Griffith is.
  4. You overuse this GIF.
  5. Some are arrogant and they can be. We will have our arrogant fans and that is fine. Doesn’t bother me.
  6. ‘Easily lost that’ is not quite right. We had so many scoring shots and controlled the game. Play that game 10 times and we would lose one or two and thrash them by 10+ goals 3 or 4 times. They we’re in it because of their midfield and Cameron. But we are more complete and were injury free. They really weren’t near us and that bore out when they went out in straight sets.
  7. They should do all of that. Really hoping I can get a ticket.
  8. It’s the new CLR. IB&NB
  9. Sustained periods of time at either end allow for even more flooding and zoning and congestion. To some degree, we benefit from that but anything that can build out the ground a bit more has to be a good thing for the spectacle. The 6-6-6 rule from a few years ago is a perfect example of a rule that reduces congestion and provides a ‘bang, bang, bang’ spectacle.
  10. Just got mine up in ACT. Bit later than I would like to put up an enormous flag on my house facing the street but the heathens up here deserve to know who won.
  11. Up here in the ACT, with a Chief Minister very found of locking down, we are not even out of the latest outbreak but we’re open because we are at 90% vaccinated as of today. Nothing is black and white and the performance of the state leadership has been over the place. I’m a bit ashamed of the Fed govt response being a public servant up here, but I am glad we are on the way out of this. People will do what they want, believe what facts they want, and won’t concede anything. That disease isn’t going anywhere. Fun times!
  12. Yeah, let’s look at his pre-season
it’s not like he just showed all the doubters in the ‘post-season.’ The footy gods do not eff around buddy - you better atone or karma is going to have its way with you. I know at this point you are just playing to get a reaction but it must feel bad to be so dismissive of someone like a Jack Viney, who is the epitome of a Demon and the coach’s favourite player, and be so wrong. So very very wrong. (Looking up at the sky) Take it easy on him Norm, Teddy, Jimmy

  13. It’s designed to stop teams being suffocated by far better teams and not being able to clear their defensive 50. We don’t want those type of goals. We want flowing games not grinds where a dominant teams keep the ball in their 50.
  14. If you did, you’d officially be a troll. So kudos on your discretion. Well done. You’re growing. Next step is to admit you’re wrong about Viney being a “rugby player” and literally a starting midfielder in the most explosive midfield the game has seen recently who was in the heat of the game when we were dominant in a Grand Final. We’re here, happy to bite, and ready to forgive and forget, and absolve. You don’t want the karma, my friend. You don’t want that.
  15. Causation and correlation
the are other factors to that openness. And we must concede it that hasn’t led to more scoring. The best rule has been the play on from the kick out that gets the ball 80m away from goals. The stand rule is good if it is tweaked to get what we need to get out of it; the player with the ball an advantage to get the ball into the forward half with movement and territory.
  16. Yes. Also replicated as a podcast without the ads.
  17. It needs tweaking. The problem I saw is that the umps are looking for the player to get on the mark which can disadvantage the player with the ball. It means that defenders can ‘put the hands up’ and run right next to the player with the ball to get to the mark. I would tweak I to say that players can only get on the mark from the front - the defensive side - and any players coming from the side or behind to get on the mark (unless right on them) it’s a 50. Players should play on more often but I think the above impacts their ability to do that.
  18. Similar to the saying: When in Rome, copy what others are doing.
  19. I just rewatched the On The Couch after the GF and Garry made Goodwin reveal one of the main messages at HT “get it and kick it” And in that simple message reveals quite a bit. The main thing is finals footy is about the contest and ‘territory’ but it’s also about the loosening of the reigns from the coach to the chaos. Not to pick on Geelong - but Chris Scott would never advise his team on such a simple direction. He wants control he can’t get, and he wants to give direction that can’t be executed.
  20. Engorged
you edited this and your maths is still bad.
