That’s part of it - also memberships are not equatable anymore - some packages are 2 for 1 or for $50. We even had a 6 games for $66 membership a few weeks ago. They’re meaningless numbers now. I have heard we are in a good spot financially from our 60k members…

Some of you just don’t know how long a footy season is to play. The fact that we won so convincingly when they obviously steeled themselves for this, is testament to the great group we have. Also, we are in better form than last year. That doesn’t mean anything for the end of the year but we are in another great spot.

If the Dogs already got that time slot with a ‘non-floating’ fixture; is that a failure of the ‘non-floating’ fixture? They will be right in it IMO. The real mistake was floating Essendon into prime time when they should not have been. I think the 2 months is plenty of time to plan and, if properly applied, the floating fixture can avoid terrible games given prime time slots.

They both do it. This is what happens with the multiverse. Sometimes it is two bad realities merging.

I don’t think there are very good reasons for keeping it during the day. Public sediment is often used as a pejorative and in this case I have to agree. Twilight is fine for families and better for the game financially. It will get there in the next rights deal anyway…

Shame. Number of things more important than footy tho. Loved watching him play.

You’re 15 old self seeks other ‘content’ and won’t watch this. He also called you a ‘weirdo’ - what a little [censored]…

You’re right. We should not be discussing matters relating to the footy club on a footy forum. Andy, shut her down. Nasher, turn the servers off and let the gerbils that run them, run free. ahhhhh, that’s better.

They haven’t reconciled themselves with the drug scandal. Their truth is one of persecution and unfair critique. They only cared about recovering not fixing their broken culture.

If Melksham didn’t play this week, the VFL’s bye would have meant two weeks without playing a game. And they are keen to respect the players’ milestones which I think has to be a leadership driven thing. I wouldn’t have done it but clubs are interesting places and respect and ruthlessness is a never ending exercise in balance.

Oh ok sure, that’s what you meant… the primary administrator cares what ‘thread’ (it’s called a thread) we discuss this on.
-
He’s not the most eloquent at the best of times - he very quickly referenced Melbourne and it’s ruthlessness in his first diatribe on this on SFS. We have been where Essendon is and I don’t have a problem with what Lloyd said, or what he meant.
-
What May did was what Lloyd was talking about with Shiel. There was a lot of nonsense about Lloyd wanting them to go around and hit blokes (ironically he was a massive sniper back in the day). He was just saying that your passion to back up a mate can be focussed and that you should respond. Like the Dees. Our teams ethos is caring in its brutality.
-
That’s a good resource. Very impressive.
-
We literally have a thread up about the club changing it’s name. Im talking about the actions of the club, not trying to dismiss it as hollow, grandstanding, and ‘political’…
-
No one knows. Pure conjecture if you have read that somewhere.
-
So not much then. Good the club and others are doing more I guess.
-
How will you celebrate them?

His tackling is up tho so it just means he is pressuring higher up the ground. We just have let it out of our D50 easier this year. Keep in mind teams are scared to do much more than kick it short back there, and then it gets out to 80m from goal and we turn it back there. But our pressure has been down this year in the forward half and I think that it’s hard to be as ‘up’ and intense as they were last year…
-
The fact that a team like GC or NM didn’t pick him up for nothing at the end of 2020 is an indictment on their judgement. Great professional.

With other dominoes falling (Spargo) we look like we know what we have to play around with. I choose to take it as a positive.
