Oh, wow, I'm salivating at the thought of Mackin and Macca on the wings next season!!!
-
Couldn't have said it better myself. Incels are annoying.
-
Wanna rock up to the girls' training session and tell them they're not a serious competition, that they're just tokens? Yeh, didn't think so.
-
Yep. Couldn't agree more. There's always one, isn't there?
-
Okay Kevin.

This is one of the reasons why I love watching this team play, it exemplifies the very point of the OP. These girls are great to watch, they're unified as a team, they love spending time with each other, their fans, they are loved and supported by each other and their supporters.

This article explains what the situation stood last year. I cannot see any evidence of them having an SGM to change that aspect of their ordinary membership definition, unless it was an agenda item in their AGM last December, for which I'm struggling to find the minutes of. If the situation has changed, then good on them, and I stand corrected. https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/37-years-a-pies-member-but-barrie-cassidy-still-can-t-vote-20211111-p59838.html

It's massively crook, isn't it? I don't see how they can be termed members if they don't have voting rights. Only the social club members and coterie have voting rights. It's a strange situation. Brisbane Lions are also set up that way.
-
It's hardly democracy at Collingwood while only about 10,000 of their 100,000 members have voting rights. That club could implode and there's nothing the "members" can do about it.

Yeh, it was a great night, wasn't it? It was my fourth time going to Princes Park this season, I went to the Bulldogs/GWS game in Round 1, then the Casey GF, then Melbourne/Carlton game and then Friday night. Every single time was a fantastic atmosphere and heaps of fun. Even ending up ankle deep in mud outside the ground reminded me of the 80s!!
-
Yeh, see, that's what I thought, too. I was a bit flabergasted by the comment, to be honest.
-
Yeh, I was surprised by that. Were kids counted? Someone on the AFLW Facebook page complained that even though they bought a ticket to the Collingwood/Bulldogs game they were denied entry, the reason given is that the capacity of Victoria Park is 5000 with kids being admitted for free, they didn't need a ticket, and they took up the space of people who bought tickets.

So true. It's a struggle for cheer squads to get organised with such a short turnaround. We have to have the banner squad ready a good 40 minutes before ball up.
-
I actually think they've become a better side since then, too. Their performance since the Bulldogs game has been flawless. Whereas Adelaide have not been their strongest coming into the finals, although that can be attributed to the absence of Chelsea Randall.

She's brilliant, awesome girl. And yes, the sweetest girl off the field, like they all are
-
Put Blaithin Mackin on her, she'll sort her out :)
-
True, but our side has improved immensely since then, particularly with Gillard's constant growth as a key defender, and the addition of Purcell in the midfield. I also think a key person who did that work in the GF was Erin Phillips. Adelaide are still a very good side, but they're not the same side as last season. They've lost quite significantly to both teams above them on the ladder. That's telling

How many times have we heard people complain 7.50 is a late starting time?
-
Our forward line has been much more potent this season than season 6. It was Adelaide's defence that beat us twice last season, including the grand final. We had 9 goal kickers last week, so our forward depth is our strength, particularly with Hore playing her best footy at the moment, and Harris continuing to be Harris. Banners is just growing stronger each week, for her youth she's scary to oppositions. If we're able to counter their backline we're okay. I also think the key to their attack is Ash Woodleigh (hurts me to say that, given she used to be a Demon). With Gillard, Birch, Heath playing at their peak, and the inclusion last week of Gay, we need to minimise her impact. Our midfield is incredibly strong - Paxman, Purcell, Mithen, Hanks, L Pearce are dominant forces. Plus I'm loving the impact Mackin has made on the team, she's a beast. Zanker and Lampard for some annoying reason tend to go unnoticed by media commentators, I reckon Zanker was one of the best on ground last week. But hey, if their understatement means the opposition don't consider their impact, that's their loss, because they both have the ability to impact the game. I think we're okay :)

IKON is not in Adelaide. We've had some good wins at IKON, I don't think it's a disadvantage for us to play there.

One I heard about 30 years ago: What's the difference between a dead pig in the middle of the road and a dead Collingwood supporter in the middle of the road? The skid marks in front of the pig.

Michael Hibberd & Jake Melksham - 1 Year Extensions
Katrina Dee Fan replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
A bit hard, Smith was the medical sub and wasn't used. -
Exactly right, apparently the team weren't told what was needed to get the top spot, so she wouldn't have known.
-
I wouldn't say we had an easy draw this year, we've had one of the more difficult draws this year, certainly easier than Brisbane.
