  1. I'm about to chuck a tanty. How the hell was McVee not nominated for Rising Star this round based on that game? Are they serious??? What more does the kid have to do?
  2. That's my experience, too. Everyone has friends who are Collingwood supporters (inevitable, I guess, coz there's just so many of them), none of them behave in this manner.
  3. Two conversations I had with Collingwood supporters while near the slide before I went back to the safe haven of the Demon Army: First Collingwood supporter. CS (looking at me with venom in his eyes) - "I hate Melbourne" Me (smiling, shrugging) - "That's okay, I hate Collingwood." CS - "You haven't beaten us in 3 years." Me (smiling) - "That's okay, you haven't won a premiership in 13 years." Later on as the team is announced, he booed Brodie. Me - "What are you booing him for? He wanted to stay at your club." His friend replied to him, "Yeah, that was pretty stupid." Collingwood supporter 2 We were pretty crowded around the slide, and I was keeping an eye on my 12 year old nephew, who accidentally hit someone in the head with his flagpole and apologised straight away. CS - "He's only a Melbourne supporter, he can be chucked out." Me (turning into protective Auntie mode) - "Really? He's 12! Besides it's our home game, and as a member he has as much right than anyone to be here." CS - screamed in my face that I'm a "f&*%ing arrogant entitled Melbourne supporter". Because I was protecting a child from an adult bully.
  4. And in Part 2 of the bad Twilight Zone episode, something I never thought I'd ever hear a Collingwood supporter say: "on a shocking side note, I don’t think the umpiring affected the result yesterday! Don’t think there was anything terribly notable." WTH is going on!!! I though something was a bit off with them when we never heard that "USA! USA!" chant after quarter time :)
  5. I just saw this on BF. I swear I have to check if I'm in the middle of some bad episode of Twilight Zone...🤣 "Well I was thinking it might end up with me setting up a GoFundMe page, if only I was taller and stronger. Had this terrible Melbourne supporter (4 of them but one was really a nutcase) in front of me who was already half under the weather before the game and after 6 cans was getting worse. Turning around really in my face and although none of you know me I hardly yell at the footy, too involved in who is playing where and the tactics of the game. Would stand up and yell things like, the premiership is not played in June, colliwobbles (sigh), losers, we are the champions and more that I can't remember. I was so ready to respond but only to told him to sit down as I couldn't see and also my grand-daughter told me not to respond. I so hate Melbourne, have never been to a game against them when I haven't had those type of supporters around me."
  6. I know, and I looked on in jealousy!!! I may have to suck up to Rivs :)
  7. I want my footy, damnit!!!!
  8. Umm...I'm 52. Nothing stops me getting involved :)
  9. A joke I was told about 30 years ago: What's the difference between a dead pig in the middle of the road and a dead Collingwood supporter in the middle of the road? The skid marks in front of the pig.
  10. I'll just leave this here https://fb.watch/l0VOHypxEO/
  11. I want to win just so I can play this song really loudly on the train home. Even bring my Bluetooth speaker along with me!
  12. Oh, please, please please please please!!!
  13. They'll need a dictionary. If they can read one!
  14. This thread has certainly reaffirmed my sheer, utter, unadulterated, visceral hatred for that putrid club and that subhuman primordial soup of a species they call “Collingwood supporters”. I know that at times we don’t all get along with each other in Demonland, but at least this is something we all agree with!! Ah, I feel purged.
  15. To be fair they’ve won 3 flags in 70 years, 58, 90, 2010. We however have won 7 in that same period of time. I think I prefer our record in that regard :)
  16. Yeah, we don’t speak if 1958, though!
  17. Oh, the irony of this one! Back at ya, buddy!!
  18. Yep, not since Hawthorn was caught doing it in the 90s!!
  19. I was tempted to, but no. Sadly the pet memberships assume all pets are dogs - I don't think my cats would appreciate the doggie-type member items.... anyway, I don't think the club did pet memberships this year
  20. So ultimately, both supporter bases are feeling pretty negative about their own sides' expected performances. Could be an interesting night!!
  21. I agree, we need to drop TMac for BBB. I don't understand the discourse around BBB being too old, past it, etc, he had a boomer of a time in the first two matches, kicked 8 goals. Okay, he only kicked 1 in the Brisbane game, but hey, name a Melbourne player that night that actually played well. Since his back niggle he's been doing really well in VFL, it's time he came back into the team. I also agree about Disco and Woewodin, time Disco was brought in and given a chance. I'd go so far also to suggest Laurie - like Disco, we can't punish these kids for having the odd bad game, let's develop them and give them a go.
  22. Really? No one else is! I reckon the AFL are scared of Carlton's lawyers after last year!
  23. Good. And I hope they debut him soon.
  24. I wasn't at the game, my experience was far worse, and I attribute it to child abuse. I was 16, staying with my grandparents (Hawthorn supporters) while my parents were in Queensland. We were listening to the game on the radio, and I was listening in shock to the final moments, and as soon as that goal was kicked I burst into 16 year old temper tantrum tears, to which Pa started to laugh at me, prompting me to do the whole dramatic storm to the bedroom, slam the door shut, throw myself on to the bed with my face buried in the pillow bellowing horrible tears. In the meantime I could hear Pa laughing, Grandma saying to him, "Leave her alone you big bully!" and him trying to defend himself. Not my most shining moment in life. And I agree, if we had've made the grand final we would have lost to Carlton, they were too strong. However I maintain that the experience of being in the GF may have given us a greater chance in 1988, where we were an experienced team thumped by Hawthorn. Badly.
