  1. 99.9% certain if he gets reported and suspended on Sunday, the suspension will take place from round 4 onwards. In fact I'm 100% sure.
  2. Yeah that question has crossed my mind too. He's not playing until 4 April so they may think it's necessary for him to get some minutes this weekend. On the other hand, the team needs to get used to not having him there. We won't have the luxury of Kozzie kicking or setting up a goal when we badly need one, in the first three games.
  3. Geez Kako came as advertised. Good to see Essendon use up their unsustainable accuracy card in a practice match.
  4. Firstly, I don't understand the bolded bit. Secondly, isn't all about peaking when it matters? We certainly timed our run beautifully in 2021 after a patchy June and July. Thirdly, although it's extremely hard to back up a premiership of late (unless you're Penrith or Kansas City Chiefs) Brisbane would have to be at the front of the grid in terms of flag chances.
  5. 100% agree. Trac had a sneaky great year in 2024 before he got injured and was on track for 28-30 votes.
  6. Good article. I'm not expecting him to be peak "Max Gawn" in the early rounds due to his lack of match practice but his solid fitness base should hopefully see him playing his best footy at the back end. Chaplin, in the recent post game presser, indicated that Max might be rested at times due to the luxury of having TC on the list, or even having the two in the same side.
  7. Happy with this pick up. Impressed with some of his WC games. Talk about sliding doors. If the game on Saturday ended 2 minutes earlier, then Jai would not be an AFL player this year.
  8. ROUND 6, 2023 at Adelaide Oval (22 April 2023) PORT ADELAIDE 3.2 9.6 13.9 16.13 (109) WEST COAST 2.3 3.6 7.8 10.9 (69) GOALS Port Adelaide: Finlayson 5, Rozee 2, Rioli 2, Burton 2, Byrne-Jones 2, Lord, Drew, Powell-Pepper West Coast: Culley 4, Allen 2, Darling 2, Waterman, Petruccelle
  9. I’m concerned about our small defence and small forward depth coming into the early rounds. However I reckon our key defensive stocks would be the envy of a lot of clubs. Having to leave one of May, Lever, Petty or T Mac out of the round 1 defensive line up is a good problem to have (obviously the first two guys are a lock)
  10. Thanks for clarifying. I had a hard time trying to work out what he was on about it. All I took from his answer was that he won't be doing cartwheels that we might well be granted the extension.
  11. Surprised clubs supported this given they're obligated to look after their own backyard first. Sam Michell was asked his opinion on SEN this morning and he gave the impression that he was against the extension, it was like "bad luck Melbourne and Carlton but rules are rules" (unless I misunderstood him).
  12. Leave him up forward. With Kozzie out, he's our leading small goal kicker and is generally an excellent set shot at goal as evidenced by his 66% accuracy in terms of goals/total shots (excluding any out on the fulls). We'd love his 21 goals a season to turn into the 30's but I'm not sure he has that in him. Plus he's also there to provide forward pressure and created a good outlet between wing and half forward. Along with some of our other forwards such as JVR, he had a disappointing final month last year in terms of goal kicking output.
  13. Tom Morris on SEN just suggested that the AFL might be open to extending this year’s deadline.
  14. One of the positives of the day was Tom Campbell. Held his own against one of last year’s best ruckman in the AFL in Xerri. Also showed unexpectedly competent skills for a ruck, highlighted by some quality set shots at goal. It’s reassuring to know that if Max has a niggle, we can rest him with the knowledge that we have a secondary ruckman that will be competitive. We’re (touch wood) clearly not having a repeat of the Freo debacle last year when the game was over before it started re: conceding hit out and clearance dominance. Lastly, sounds like he’s has a great pre season, looks fit for his age and by all reports is a cracking bloke.
  15. Chandler should and likely will play round 1. Creates a good outlet from wing to inside 50 and has tremendous goal sense. Without Kozzie we’re, down a small forward and we’re going to have to find 13-15 goals to beat GWS and Chandler’s proven that he can snag 2-3 at the G when on song. I agree with you that Howes and Laurie provide no point of difference as players.
  16. My thoughts as well. It’s a a bad round 1 opponent to face given their plethora of quality small forwards (Greene, Daniels, Jones) and we’re already two accountable small defenders down. I reckon Brown could potentially play the McVee role but it’s probably too late in the piece to up-skill him down back.
  17. Can I get some more of these 3 goal Harry Sharp games?
  18. He along with Johnson and Verrell were wearing the training tee-shirts in the pre game warmup which suggests he’ll either be playing in the second half or not at all.
  19. It’s extremely concerning given he’s already kicked half out score.
  20. Panic stations if he hasn’t kicked 3 snags by quarter time?
  21. And also is Ray Ellis available for another gig?
  22. A leopard never changes his spots.
  23. Had a brief look at North's squad and it's pretty strong compared to ours. Scoreboard's irrelevant tomorrow but the form of some borderline '23' players isn't.
  24. Yeah for sure. Our round 1 team will need plenty of solid minutes against Freo because when we play GWS they'll be 4 quarters ahead of us in preparation. I doubt Kozzie will play Freo. Sounds like he's playing tomorrow instead.
  25. #moreuselessinformation We lost our last 7 games at Arden street, some by hideous margins. Our last win there came in 1976. 23 point win. (although we did win a praccy match there in 2020 if that counts...)
