  1. Wednesday 6:20pm you would've thought.
  2. Looks like a younger Kochie next to him.
  3. Should get nominated on that goal alone. An 18 year old kid to step up in a finals like environment is very impressive. And anyway, he’s shown more than enough glimpses over 4 games to get nominated this weekend. Although I guess the panel could take the lazy route and look at the kicks and handballs column.
  4. 52 down in disposals and 9 down in inside 50’s.
  5. Ratugolea 8 marks in a half for Port. Something’s breaking down to allow that.
  6. Ratugolea 8 marks in a half for Port. Something’s breaking down to allow that.
  7. If we lose a close one it will be because we didn’t have a match up for Dixon. On track for 12 marks.
  8. I reckon the Dogs are a class above Richmond, West Coast and Hawthorn.
  9. May it continue into Thursday night.
  10. Without May: 2021 - we beat Hawthorn and Adelaide both at the G but they were bottom 6 sides. 2022 - Lost to Sydney and Collingwood both at the G who were top shelf sides that year. 2023 - beat Dogs at the MCG but lost to Brisbane at the GABBA in the first two rounds. It’s arguably not good.
  11. Sam Walsh will take Carlton’s midfield to the next level. The player that was nominated the best player of last years finals series and single handedly beat us in the semi final, as well as kick starting them in the last quarter of round 22 against us.
  12. Carlton a genuine chance for the flag? Not just a smokey but a bonafide absolute shot at taking this year’s flag. Yeah, yeah…posters will bring up who they’ve beaten so far. But I’m firmly in the Carlton for the flag camp.
  13. I know you can't judge everything on game day but he looked as invested as ever on the field last week and was sticking up for his teammates such as Max when Hawks players had a crack at us. Makes you wonder what's changed in terms of his homesickness from October 2021 when he committed medium term (2025) to the current day where he is allegedly desperate to come home.
  14. Not changing my stance on this one. No experienced key forward coming through our doors, then no Petty/Adelaide trade for 2025. What's more important? 1) Trade Petty and obtain a good trade by way of potentially two top 20 picks for the 2025 season but having no replacement (assuming BBB retires and we have to persist with Schache if Jefferson and Adams don't develop) 2) Retaining Petty for 2025 who will provide us with a bona fide KPF/KPD to help us contend for another flag at the expense of receiving a mediocre draft pick return for the 2026 season because we won't have bargaining power. I know which option I'm taking.
  15. We did the right thing for T Mac and Max in their 200th game. Hopefully Jack gets his much deserved win.
  16. GA is around $27 at the MCG. $75 is absolutely expensive for a run of the mill home and away game.
  17. Just got a seat for $75 to sit in the nose bleeds behind the goals at the river end. Free for MFC members or $35 for the same seat Vs Adelaide in Gather Round 5 days later.
  18. JHF is a great out. He makes their midfield even more potent and has a knack for kicking a goal from 50 in key moments. Hopefully all's ok with Oliver, and with Lever probably playing, we're in a pretty good spot to give Port a crack.
  19. With Lever likely to play now, which option do you think we'll go with: A) The simple like for like with Tomlinson replacing May. B) Going in small and starting Hore as a "tall defender" with T Mac as the other tall defender and Lever as the interceptor. No Tommo. You're essentially putting a lot of faith in Hore taking a Marshall or Finlayson. C) Petty plays in defence. Tomo left out.
  20. How many Gather Round games are you going to?
  21. 1) I didn’t include our game as it’s a non MFC thread. We can win if we’re at our near best 2) Just think Brisbane win this game based on Collingwood’s last 2 visits there and Brisbane’s awesome record up there. I’m treating their loss to Carlton as a GABBA anomaly.
  22. Another pretty straight forward round in tipping aside from possibly the Dons/Saints game.
  23. 100% agree with the thread. And I reckon the media need to hold fire on Sydney. Warner, Gulden and Heaney and even James Jordon couldn't possibly keep their insane form up all year and we all know what happens to Sydney in grand finals.
  24. Great reports all. Hopefully Chandler does make the cut. Been impressed with his goal kicking the last 2 weeks, both from the snaps and the set shots.
  25. Would really set up our season if we go 2-0 in Adelaide and potentially 6-1 or 5-2 after Anzac eve. Port's going to be really tough though. One of the hardest interstate trips in footy.
