NON-MFC: Round 08
Laughably if Essendon win they will be in the top 4 with a percentage of bugger all, if we don’t salute Saturday night.

Anyone have an idea of the %win rate for teams on back to back 6 day breaks in recent years? Carlton are on back to back 6 day breaks next week which surely isn’t a bad thing for us.

I'd like to think we can play them both as they're different kind of players and offer different assets. Melksham to play the defensive forward on the oppo's best defender such as Stewart or Andrews. However his offense is also weapon as he's a natural goal kicker. Meanwhile McAdam is purely an attacking forward who can take a mark, either contested or roaming high up the field on the lead. If both are to be regular fixtures, one of Turner, JVR, Petty or Chandler would need to lose their spot in the forward line. (I predict Petty finds his way back into defence by season end).

NON-MFC: Round 08
Hopefully for Port's sake, Rozee's injury doesn't turn into a 10 week hammy that Oliver had, where they couldn't get to the bottom of it.

That was such a Melbourne like circa 2023 loss by Port.- NON-MFC: Round 08
BT had another fantastic night in the booth. Started his night by mixing up Butters and Rozee, you know only 2 of Port’s highest profile players. Then ended the night by informing the viewers that Adelaide are off to Darwin to host Brisbane, despite Adelaide never playing a home game in Darwin and probably never will. Port are falling apart with injuries.- PREGAME: Rd 08 vs Geelong

In - Hunter, Hore Out - Woewodin , Laurie Sub - Windsor I want experience this week, and I thought Woewodin and Windsor were liabilities at times for the Brisbane and Richmond games. Geelong will punish turnovers like no other. Hunter or Billings to be subbed out for Windsor. Would like to give Laurie another go as sub, but it would be harsh to drop Windsor at this point and I can't see them resting him so soon after our bye. Perhaps he gets rested next Thursday night.- PREGAME: Rd 08 vs Geelong

With respect to MFC Saturday night crowds, our benchmark is 55,000 V Carlton which occurred on round 22 2022, when Kozzie kicked the winner with seconds left. In that game, Carlton were eyeing their first final in 9 year while we had top 4 on the line. The weather was a regulation August night with no rain. With so much at stake in that game, it would be hard so see us getting into the 50's this weekend.- PODCAST: Kade Chandler Interview

Agree with the second comment. That part of the thread has been a good discussion point. It's the "oh their 7-0 but they're not playing well and haven't beaten anyone" narrative that's crept into the discussion. Geelong have been the best performed team so far this year. I don't know how one can argue otherwise. Sydney put in an immature performance against Richmond, GWS went to sleep 2 weeks in a row and it almost cost them the full 8 points, while Carlton have lost just as many quarters as they've won.- Issac Cumming
He played his first game in the VFL last week coming back from injury rather being out of favour. So I'd imagine he'll be in the team in the coming weeks and will clearly be a required played going forward for GWS.- 2024 MRO & Tribunal
I’d like to know Adrian Anderson’s success rate at the tribunal.- PREGAME: Rd 08 vs Geelong
There's some extraordinary disrespect and under estimation of Geelong in this thread. They've clearly been the most consistent team all year so far and been on their game mentally every week, as opposed to us when we've had 2 games when we were clearly "off" for one reason or another. I also can't buy into the "they haven't beaten anyone" notion. Sure they've had some easy games against North and Hawthorn, but they've just beaten Brisbane at home (who had just given us a bath) and then put 120 points on a genuine premiership contender in Carlton. They've also won 2 games in Adelaide which seems to have been lost on some. Geelong are top of the ladder for a good reason, and Saturday night is a massive audit for us.- The Drums are starting to beat for North
"I think the AFL should move North out of there, pay them the money and start bulking up those games in Tasmania and send some of the big clubs down once a year to get the Tasmania people lined up and excited (for their team in 2028) When McGuire was probed further on this comment and was asked if Collingwood should be one of those teams to play in Tasmania, McGuire answered: "I wouldn't have thought so"- LAST TIME THEY MET
