  1. There's some extraordinary disrespect and under estimation of Geelong in this thread. They've clearly been the most consistent team all year so far and been on their game mentally every week, as opposed to us when we've had 2 games when we were clearly "off" for one reason or another. I also can't buy into the "they haven't beaten anyone" notion. Sure they've had some easy games against North and Hawthorn, but they've just beaten Brisbane at home (who had just given us a bath) and then put 120 points on a genuine premiership contender in Carlton. They've also won 2 games in Adelaide which seems to have been lost on some. Geelong are top of the ladder for a good reason, and Saturday night is a massive audit for us.
  2. "I think the AFL should move North out of there, pay them the money and start bulking up those games in Tasmania and send some of the big clubs down once a year to get the Tasmania people lined up and excited (for their team in 2028) When McGuire was probed further on this comment and was asked if Collingwood should be one of those teams to play in Tasmania, McGuire answered: "I wouldn't have thought so"
  3. Was that the game Tomlinson was dropped after his 10 mark effort on Kings Birthday? Rohan killed us in that game and he’s in the mix to return this week.
  4. He had a down game last week so the ongoing knee issue might now be getting the better of him.
  5. Ok. Thanks for the inside word. There’s been no speculation of him missing, but at the same time Geelong do rest senior players throughout the season.
  6. Unless Stewart had a particularly bad concussion, or hasn’t recovered well, he’ll certainly be playing, and we should assume he’s playing. One comment that raised by eyebrow on the Geelong Bigfooty was this: “Stanley plays better with at least a little continuity so I'd back him in against Gawn”
  7. That’s great news WCW. Is he wearing a cap or jumper to indicate “no contact” or is he good to go?
  8. Agree. They beat the Dogs in round 23 when they were $16-1 to win the game, after seemingly having the spoon in the bag. It’s the polar opposite to tanking.
  9. I honestly don’t believe it’s happened since 1980. Maybe in the 70’s? Pies will play finals this year.
  10. Does James Jordon ever make a mistake? I get that he had a poor semi final as Brayshaw’s replacement, but he always seems to make the right decision and reliably hits targets. The epitome of a good ordinary player, with the “good” being the operative word. A smart and cheap pick up by Sydney.
  11. Really hope we don’t go down the fatigue excuse if we get done x2. We’ve played just 3 games in the month of April and should be cherry ripe to attack Geelong and Carlton (and then a 10 day break into West Coast)
  12. We’re going to have to play about 300% better than what we’ve dished up the last fortnight if we’re a chance to beat Geelong - who just beat my expected premiers for 2024. Yeah Geelong are due for a loss, but so were we in rounds 8 and 9 2021 and we kept saluting. I don’t like them, but full credit to Geelong for their impressive rebound. They have a phenomenal coach IMO.
  13. Sorry mate, what are you going on about?
  14. Not having a go at the club for mismanagement or miscommunication. Just disappointed for the kid (and our defensive structure) On the night it was assumed he'd done his collarbone, but unfortunately scans proved worse.
  15. Looking forward for Bowey to come back. In the pre season he was shaping up to be a K Coleman quarterback type elite kicker from half back that would set up the field. To miss 9-10 weeks is a shocking result for what appeared to be a text book collarbone 4 week injury on the night.

Surprised M Pickett escaped suspension. They usually suspend the nobodies and blokes with questionable characters. On the other hand, the golden boys like Pendlebury, Hawkins, Danger, Selwood, Cotchin etc...
  17. If you throw 100 darts at a board, eventually you'll hit the target. That applies to St Kilda eventually beating a team higher than them on the ladder.
  18. I think the round 24 game will be more tolerable as it's our home game and we'll have far more representation. However the whole Maynard circus is going to be at its peak on Neale's day. We'll boo him. The morons will then stand up and clap him and drown out our boos. Then they'll be at their feral worst at the end of the game if they knock off us. The only game of the year I'm not looking forward to attending this year.
  19. Agree with this if we can't be there on GF day. The thought of GWS beating Carlton or Collingwood by 1 point on GF day is a bit good. The city will be a ghost town as it was after the 2018 GF.
  20. Unfortunately we copped Brisbane on the one night they actually gave a toss this year. The pressure they put on us was unsustainable from a weekly perspective.
  21. It’s not who you play it’s when you play them. We copped Brisbane at at the worst possible time and then we got a depleted Richmond at a fantastic time.
  22. I think history might be repeating itself WCW (unfortunately)
  23. The team that I’ve been banging on for months that will win this years flag, won the flag that year.
  24. I’ve had a gut full of Brisbane and wish nothing but the worse for them. However a win tonight and we’ll somehow (probably) go ahead of GWS on the ladder. So, go Lions, I guess…..
  25. Howe’s been a liability for Collingwood today. Disposal costly.
