  1. I agree with your assessment of Billings. If he had of kicked at least 1 of his 3 attempts the coaching staff may have brushed off his lack of Melbourne like pressure. I think he’s a genuine chance to be dropped unfortunately, after a poor game against Port.
  2. Top of the ladder.
  3. Kozzie will get 1 week for that due to the new rule of “potential to cause harm” Refer the Liam Baker suspension last week. Why does he keep putting himself in these situations?
  4. Port have 6 of their first 8 games at Adelaide Oval. We have 3 of our first 5 games on the road. Seems fair, right?
  5. Pretty good sign that the weekend (Port game) he doesn’t hit the scoreboard he still manages 20 touches as a small forward. Provides a great outlet with his running and overhead marking for someone his size. Super impressed with his year so far.
  6. Yep, aside from our game, the double header is the highlight of Gather Rd from my perspective. Four in form sides.
  7. Long may it continue. It was this time last year Carlton’s season fell off the rails.
  8. Anyone surprised? This club isn’t much better than bush league standard.
  9. Who's travelling over for Gather Round and how many game are you seeing? I'm looking at 7 games. As for the non MFC results: Brisbane to beat North by 58 Port to beat Essendon by 31 Sydney to beat West Coast by 91 Carlton to be Freo by 1 point Geelong to beat Dogs by 19 GWS to beat GC by 40 St Kilda to beat Richmond by 26 Collingwood to beat Hawthorn by 19
  10. If you're ever going to a Port V Dees game at AO, do sit in the top few rows of the river stand behind the right of screen goals. It's half empty and mostly comprises families or 16-20 year olds who are on their phones all game and probably don't even realise they're at the footy. I won't have that luxury again this Thursday as it's a likely a full house.
  11. They probably just looked at the stats sheet and figured 16 and 2 goals is obviously better than 12 and 1. I’d be amazed if he didn’t get a nomination before the mid season break.
  12. Wednesday 6:20pm you would've thought.
  13. Looks like a younger Kochie next to him.
  14. Should get nominated on that goal alone. An 18 year old kid to step up in a finals like environment is very impressive. And anyway, he’s shown more than enough glimpses over 4 games to get nominated this weekend. Although I guess the panel could take the lazy route and look at the kicks and handballs column.
  15. 52 down in disposals and 9 down in inside 50’s.
  16. Ratugolea 8 marks in a half for Port. Something’s breaking down to allow that.
  17. Ratugolea 8 marks in a half for Port. Something’s breaking down to allow that.
  18. If we lose a close one it will be because we didn’t have a match up for Dixon. On track for 12 marks.
  19. I reckon the Dogs are a class above Richmond, West Coast and Hawthorn.
  20. May it continue into Thursday night.
  21. Without May: 2021 - we beat Hawthorn and Adelaide both at the G but they were bottom 6 sides. 2022 - Lost to Sydney and Collingwood both at the G who were top shelf sides that year. 2023 - beat Dogs at the MCG but lost to Brisbane at the GABBA in the first two rounds. It’s arguably not good.
  22. Sam Walsh will take Carlton’s midfield to the next level. The player that was nominated the best player of last years finals series and single handedly beat us in the semi final, as well as kick starting them in the last quarter of round 22 against us.
  23. Carlton a genuine chance for the flag? Not just a smokey but a bonafide absolute shot at taking this year’s flag. Yeah, yeah
posters will bring up who they’ve beaten so far. But I’m firmly in the Carlton for the flag camp.
  24. I know you can't judge everything on game day but he looked as invested as ever on the field last week and was sticking up for his teammates such as Max when Hawks players had a crack at us. Makes you wonder what's changed in terms of his homesickness from October 2021 when he committed medium term (2025) to the current day where he is allegedly desperate to come home.
  25. Not changing my stance on this one. No experienced key forward coming through our doors, then no Petty/Adelaide trade for 2025. What's more important? 1) Trade Petty and obtain a good trade by way of potentially two top 20 picks for the 2025 season but having no replacement (assuming BBB retires and we have to persist with Schache if Jefferson and Adams don't develop) 2) Retaining Petty for 2025 who will provide us with a bona fide KPF/KPD to help us contend for another flag at the expense of receiving a mediocre draft pick return for the 2026 season because we won't have bargaining power. I know which option I'm taking.
