Maynard must get at least four weeks
Bring-Back-Powell replied to leave it to deever's topic in Melbourne Demons
I’ll join you if Martin gets off tonight as well. -
Does Spargo come in for Chandler? Chandler's kicked just 2 goals in the last 4 games and I would have thought a KPI of his is to surely hit the scoreboard? 2.1 in the last 4 games is poor. Or do they hope that Chandler has one of those 3 goal games that he's well and truly capable of, and be a Bobby Hill type match winner?

BBB any chance to play or has that ship sailed? I reckon our forward line will function better with BBB. He may even be able to contribute 2 goals which could get us from 8-9 goals to 10-11 and approaching a finals winning score.

The luck of an MFC supporter (well except for those that weren't stuck in VIC in 2021)

If Maynard does get suspended tonight, I'm looking forward to Howe's reaction on AFL 360 tonight. Given Maynard's the heart and soul of their club, it will be interesting to see if Collingwood's premiership chances live and die by the tribunal's and/or appeal's board's eventual decision. -
Hopefully he did, as he would have played one of his best career games while dealing with a broken toe.
-
Glad we're not heading in banged up as compared to last year.

Sam Edmund reporting that on the evening that Maynard went over to Gus’s house with his flowers, wine and chocolates, there was a group of MFC players already there. The atmosphere was super awkward and one MFC player was so inflamed by the situation that he had to excuse himself from the house. I wonder which player that was? Edit - At the Break of Dawn just beat me with the story in the above post.

That’s the way I see it going. No chance Maynard gets rubbed out, unfortunately. -
Pickett needs to step up this week and make the semi final his own. 2.5 in his last 3 games and I shudder to think of the out on the fulls and the failing to make the distances. If he pulls out a round 1 like 20 possession 4 goal game, then we’re on the plane to Brisbane next Friday.
-
Probably still only get 92,000 with a bunch of empty seats on the night.
-
Hey FTB. Great work as per usual. Is there a source online where you can tell if your seat is an aisle seat, aside from the 3D views provided by the MCG. For example is row V seat 23 in Q1-2 an aisle seat?

I’d say we’ll accept and take responsibility for the obvious suspensions. They’d only challenge to have the impact downgraded from medium to low and thus a fine. But McStay went off for assessment which basically implied medium impact.
-
Agree with that. Grundy is was way more professional and mature than the 2022 Luke Jackson who checked out in the finals series because he knew he was at Freo the next year. He’ll give his all if selected. That should be the least of our worries.
-
But at the same time, you should reward and incentivise the minor premier by giving them that extra days break into the GF if good enough.
-
David Zita on Fox Footy all but confirmed that the Brisbane prelim will be on the Saturday. Probably twilight. Interestingly Port or GWS will cop a 6 day break into a prelim, as Collingwood did in 2018. As much as we can’t stand Collingwood, they’ve earned the reward of getting the extra days break into the Gf if successful.
-
The winning sides this week 1 have combined for 54.34 and have been superbly accurate. Clearly accuracy is one of the key criterions in us getting over the line, as we have the game plan, competitiveness and fitness to go the distance (albeit we switch off defensively during periods of the game)
-
Pies are getting the Friday night prelim right? The number 1 seed always gets the Friday night prelim.
-
There’s also some 2 star Brisbane airport motels if you’re desperate. As long the cancellation/deferral fees aren’t brutal, I’m seriously considering booking a flight up ASAP, with the knowledge that we’re a realistic chance of losing next week.
-
Anyone got the knackers to book a flight to Brisbane for prelim final weekend before the airlines go all Alan Joyce on us in the coming days.
-
That’s fantastic from those three legend players to show their appreciation. Who was that player you were talking about that does the complete opposite?
-
Carlton would have to somehow downgrade the impact two levels from high to low for him to be available this week.
-
What’s the record margin that a club has pegged back in a final? Essendon- 7 goals in 1993?
-
A likely Port v GWS semi should be a cracker. The transformation of GWS from April/May to now is phenomenal.
-
Collingwood will be playing the Friday night prelim as the number 1 ranked side, if the last 11 finals series are anything to go by. And in 2018, Collingwood played a Friday night prelim of a 6 day break, after playing GWS in a Saturday night semi final.
