  1. I would more than happily punt the Alice Springs game in exchange for a home Marvel game and retain our 13 games (10 home/3 away) at the G. Aside from a giving the locals a game of footy to watch and the "feel good vibes", I'm struggling to see the upside from a footballing department perspective of playing games in the Alice. I wonder if Goodwin gets excited when the fixture comes out and sees that we're in the Alice in round 16 followed by the inevitable 6 day break at the fast paced Marvel.
  2. Spot on. Round 1 2020 @ West Coast Round 1 1998 @ Freo Round 1 1991 @ West Coast It's actually remarkable how little amount of times we've travelled in round 1, and never outside of Perth.
  3. I'm not against Lobb. Despite having a disastrous first season at the Dogs, he did manage to kick 10 of his 20 odd goals in the last 4 games including a 3 goal/15 possession/1 brownlow vote game in round 24. Imagine if we got that kind of output in the semi final compared to T Mac's 6 possession/1 hit out disaster of a game. If nothing else he fills a need for 2 years as a goal kicking back up to Max while JVR can focus on being a forward. He can also be a cover for Petty who can't be relied upon to play 20+ games a year.
  4. Happy to keep BBB for another year provided we don't nurse him for 85% of the season. I wonder how worse off we would've been if we selected BBB over T Mac in the Carlton final. He was apparently in full training that week.
  5. I like the idea of a fresh Melksham coming back into the side in round 19/20 and then being the potential finals X factor we were missing this year. Collingwood had a bunch of blokes over 30 on Saturday that performed in a GF.
  6. Any danger we can actually play a final round game (ie -round 24, previously round 23) at the MCG? The last time we played a final round game at the MCG, was 2018 against GWS and we ended up having a good finals campaign. 2019 V North at Hobart 2020 V North at Hobart in the pre covid fixture 2021 V Geelong in Geelong 2022 V Brisbane in Brisbane 2023 V Sydney in Sydney
  7. Would've been less than a 0% chance of Oscar Allan coming to Melbourne. Pretty sure he'll be WC's skipper next year and beyond.
  8. The half glass full way of looking at this trade is that we essentially trade a mediocre 2022 Luke Jackson for a peak 2022 Tom Lynch who kicked 64 goals.
  9. Harmes's papers were surely stamped in his final 2 games for the club this year. In the game against Richmond he missed 2 elementary set shots at goal within the space of 5 minutes. In the game against North at Hobart he couldn't execute a basic 15 metre pass to a spare MFC player near the boundary line and ended up kicking it out on the full. Hopefully he can get his confidence back and become an AFL regular again, but he's a far cry from the "thread of the needle" kick he executed in the 2021 GF.
  10. Bonnar is the best of an ordinary bunch. Has played some genuinely good footy games and once had 37 touches.
  11. Agree with most of that, but Collingwood beat us fair and square in the QF. They kicked our butts when the heat was on in the first quarter to gain a 20 point qtr time lead, and then kicked the key goals in the third. We threw away the semi final, but Collingwood were the deserved winners in the Qf.
  12. Absolutely. Melbourne supporters (who didn’t illegally cross the border) missed out on the best month of their footballing supporters lives. Imagine beating Brisbane by 6 goals, Geelong by 80 and Dogs by 70, all at the MCG.
  13. Any chance McAdam could be another Bobby Hill?
  14. Maynard has dead seat had a massive say in Brisbane’s last 2 goals. Brilliant!
  15. That Brisbane goal was on you Maynard!
  16. Any DL posters heading to the game today? Can’t wait for the game and hoping the karma bus pays Maynard a visit, one way or another. I don’t hope he gets hurt, I just hope he has a stinker of a game and is one of the main reasons they lose. Hopefully next year I’ll be cheering on the red and the blue rather than being a neutral in the crowd.
  17. From a purely statistical point of view, Cadman had a very underwhelming first year for a #1 pick. Never took more than 3 marks in a game, and failed to kick multiple goals on any occasion.
  18. He did actually have a good couple of 20+ possession 2 goal games in 2015 so he wasn't the complete disaster many people are making him out to be. But in terms of the draft, he was taken way too high.
  19. Really wished BBB was fit and available for the Carlton final and selected over T Mac. If nothing else he would've respected and made the most of his set shot opportunities unlike the skipper. I'll be amazed if he's on the list next year after being nursed through 2 of his 3 seasons (yeah, yeah, I know his contracted and all that...)
  20. I know I could easily google this, but anyone know how many B&F's Viney has won? Reckon he's going to add to that list this year.
  21. Adams ruled out.
  22. Went to the round 24 Sydney V Melbourne game and there was absolutely no way I left the SCG thinking Jack Viney was the game winner and the difference maker to warrant him getting the 3 brownlow votes. Gulden 3, Fritta 2 and Trac 1 should have been the outcome.
  23. Aside from those 2 blokes that ended up in the clink, did any VIC posters manage to legally get over to watch the game?
  24. Generous. You'd imagine West Coast will be getting the same sort of gifts in 12 months time if they have another bottom 2 finish.
