  1. Wow! We've officially become the AFL's fastest team with Blease, Strauss, Brennel and now Jetta Matt Burgan got this one correct.
  2. I don't - Isaac Weetra ring a bell. I'm just a bit surprised we went for an un-known at pick 35 that wasn't invited to the AFL draft. Hope it's an inspired pick!
  3. I'd be very surprised if Bartram gets a game next year. The class of 2004 needs to step up next year: Bate Dunn Newton All had average years' and were dropped in round 22.
  4. I've got him playing 5 games for Carlton next year.
  5. If we're going down the path of mature age, this would be my preference: Greg Bentley (only because he hasn't got a price on his head) Tom Hislop Shane Tregear Daniel Hughes
  6. For anyone that cares, he kicked 10 goals in 9 games for Sandy seniors in 2008.
  7. Great question Dan. In the olden days (04-06) it was Trapper, Davey, Bruce, Green, Neitz and Robbo. I don't know whether people would worry about Brock. He's more of a workhorse who will get you 26 touches but hardly hurts you on the scoreboard - 2 goals in 2008 case in point. Davey is the man that strikes fear. Although he seems to be getting more inconsistent by the year, he still knows how to hurt the opposition. Here's hoping Sylvia becomes that man. He certainly cause Brisbane concern with his 4 effortless goals all from around 45-50 out.
  8. I've almost written the bloke off. We need to prepare for life after Rivers. Hopefully Garland, Warnock and Martin will form a good enough defence without the services of Rivers. Will be an absolute bonus if he's a regular next year.
  9. Awesome!! I would've been gutted if we traded Col - espcially considering we would've only fetched a 4th rounder given the reluctance of giving up picks this year. Sylvia played his best footy last year, and some of his late season games very good. It took 5 years for Cooney to finally stamp his mark in the AFL. Now it may be the time for the bloke who was picked up 2 spots later in the 03 draft to finally stamp his mark.
  10. - Tom Lynch is way too high for pick 17. I don't know if a Bate clone is such a good thing at the moment?? - Want McKernan at 17 to form a formidable Watts-McKernan two pronged attack for the next decade. - Would be ecstatic with the quick and agile David Zaharakis at pick 19. I rate him higher than James Strauss. - Would be very happy with Walters at pick 35, but would probably need to draft a ruckman at 35 (ie-Jarrad Redden) if we overlook one at 17/19. -Danny Hughes as our last draft pick is a prank right? - Would be keen on selecting Tom Hislop or Greg Bentley at pick 67 and pass on our last pick. Hopefully draft a gem in the PSD.
  11. Looking forward to seeing Chris Johnson in action June 13 at Visy Park.
  12. I've stated many times that the club should go for Cousins. Who cares that we're not in a premiership window! Does that mean we must settle for an 18 year old overlooked in the National Draft. All I care about is having a good midfield and Cousins would be spectacular for us. Can't afford him? Then delist Daniel Bell and/or Brent Moloney Him and Jack Watts would do amazing things to our membership campaign. We would be the talk of the town if Cousins made a successful return. If he fails then, we've only blown a PSD pick and still have 6 kids picked up in the ND. C'mon MFC - show some balls and prove to the world that we can actually attract players.
  13. The guy reeks of skill, a ball magnet, and can kick a goal. Good replacement for Chris Johnson on the half back line. I'm shocked he was delisted from Port. Carlton have obviously seen the talent on display as they've invited him down for a pre season. Would rather pick him up with our final draft pick then an Isaac Weetra/Heath Neville speculative punt in the 60's who most likely will never play a game for the club.
  14. Will that game be at Casey or Northan Bullants??
  15. Would happily take 1 of Hislop or Bentley as a late pick. Both would slot nicely into our 22 - particularly Bentley.
  16. 51 - Tom Hislop 67 - Greg Bentley
  17. Hopefully they're addressing the Brad Miller on 5 opponents game plan.
  18. The one-way conversation ended soon afterwards and it was not pretty. Colin Sylvia, who reportedly crossed paths with Johnson as he traipsed off the oval, regarded him with some sympathy and advised him to leave. A bit of leadership from Sylvia. Good to see.
  19. Pick 51 for Hislop Pick 64 for a kid PSD 1 - Greg Bentley. That would be a good drafting period for the MFC.
  20. 1) Daniel Rich 17) Sam Blease 19) McKernan 35) Ruckman of some sort 51) Tom Hislop 67) Pass
  21. If we're going for a 'safe bet' why wouldn't we select Daniel Rich? I've heard he's the most talented player in this year's draft. Rich for me.
  22. Might be rookie listed to add some bite to our forward line.
  23. Can't wait to see Daniel Rich in the number #4
  24. If our forward line is as impotent as it was this year, then I reckon he'll be thrown to the wolves by about round 8 - year 12 or no year 12.
  25. Strong word is he'll go pick 5 to Essendon
