  1. Not that I'm complaining in the slightest, but what happened to our annual Manuka home game? Is this arrangement now finished? I hope so.
  2. Any chance the Mods can seperate the Collingwood and Luke Ball discussion. I want to read about Ball not that filth of a club. You'd have to say the odds for Luke Ball are: Staying at St Kilda $1.80 Entering the ND $5.50 Choosing Melbourne $8.40
  3. The best available player is not Robbo, but Daniel Bradshaw. I hope the club seriously has a look at Bradshaw, even though he wants to play in Sydney. We are in pole position so lets make the most out of it! We could do with a 60 goal per year forward
  4. Reckon the club should direct all their energies now on Joel Macdonald for PSD #1. (I would personally try to talk Bradshaw out of Sydney but that's another story.) Lions fans were a little shocked that Macdonald was delisted. I guess someone had to pay the price for the amount of list cloggers (eg - Staker & Raines) that Voss recruited. Anyone that picks up 32 touches and 11 marks in a match against Geelong should warrant consideration. The only other possibilities could be Welsh and McPhee from Essendon, but I doubt both would leave Essendon despite reports.
  5. I'd be very disappointed in this outcome considering the club has told us, via the media, that it will be intending on picking up a mature aged recruit in the PSD.
  6. I did watch both games as I have an international video package. Riewoldt got away from him too easily in the second half. He only kicked 2 goals when Frawley was off the ground. He was also killed by Buddy in round 9 in the first half. Frawley was much improved in 2009, but I think he'll be most effective taking on the second or third defender - not a gorilla!
  7. This would cap off a brilliant off-season: 1) Scully 2) Trengove 11) Butcher 18) Carlisle PSD - Bradshaw Ball will stay at St Kilda. Not sure if we'll use 34 as I haven't heard of any more delistings.
  8. The last 2 weeks of the season, Frawley was our number 1 defender playing on Fev (7 goals) and Riewoldt (6 goals). He's more suited to taking the number 3 forward.
  9. I think you and I are the only people on this board who want Bradshaw at the MFC. I feel he strongly addresses a need for the club - and that is to kick goals.
  10. I keep on reminding the Carlton flogs on bigfooty that he hasn't played a decent game since 2006 and finished 11th in the wooden spooner's B & F.
  11. We as fans pretend he doesn't play for Melbourne as well.
  12. Kudos to you mate. You provided credible info!
  13. And we only have to play at Etihad twice!
  14. Great that we host Hawthorn in round 1 - $$$$ We also host Essendon for the first time since 2005. Pretty good draw. We even play Sydney at the MCG instead of Manuka and SCG. Tough first 3 weeks in Hawks, Pies and Adelaide at the G. Avoid Geelong, Dogs and St Kilda twice. Host a Friday (V Dogs) and Saturday night game (V Lions) at the G.
  15. Well apart from Luke Ball is there any? Welsh, McPhee, Joel McDonald and a healthy Jesse Smith would probably come close.
  16. http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/lion...f-1225792571630 I know you guys got stuck into me by suggesting recruiting Bradshaw, but I'm sticking to my guns on this one. Would be a good move by the club IMO, if the luke Ball option falls over. Our forward line is young and raw and we don't have a player who you know will kick his 4 goals a week. This would be quite a nice forward line: Sylvia Miller Bate Jurrah Bradshaw Wonna/Maric The club has always maintained the position that they will be landing a big fish in the PSD, and Bradshaw fits that criteria. A short-term solution yes, but the club needs to start winning games.
  17. Was awarded high praise from Dennis and Bruce during the ch 7 rd 22 telecast against the Saints. Could be a player.
  18. Classy is a not a word I would associate with Cheney. He has very poor kicking skills. How many direct turnovers did he cause last year? He has great endeavour and is a good mark for his size, but he is not classy.
  19. I read old fashioned footy as meaning Saturday afternoon games at the G, not night games. Nice contrast to 08-09 when we played just 4 home Saturday games at the G over 2 years.
  20. I'd be stunned if it plays out that way. I hope we take the best available player that happens to be a KPF at #11.
  21. If we win, we'll play Geelong or North at Etihad on the following Sunday evening. Can't really see the downside in playing Freo. We're playing a team in our class (as opposed to Cats and Hawks) and we'll get a game in Melbourne week 2, whether it be a NAB Cup or practice match. I think it's far more important to get a game in Melbourne in round 1 of the season proper than NAB Cup.
  22. Caro Wilson reckons Richmond V Melbourne in round 3 or 4 Also the HUN reckons we have 5 of our first 7 games at the G. Essendon have a horror draw in terms of playing top 4 teams twice but only travel 3 times!!! Bulldogs have 5 Friday night games.
  23. What would you rather, pick 34 or Kyle Cheney. It may come to that if you're that desperate for pick 34.
  24. His best career game was this year against Richmond when he kicked 2.4. I guess that says it all. Still, we've got a very impotent fwd line (especially now that Robbo's gone) so having him as a back up isn't the worst thing in the world.
  25. I'm still not getting excited. All you guys should hold your excitement. You'll only end up upset. He'll stay at St Kilda. He wants short term success.
