  1. But Luke Ball is an absolute professional. If he nominated for the ND, he will give 100% to what ever club picks him up.
  2. Disagree mate. If he lasts at pick 18, you take the best available, and that is Luke Ball. Taking Ball would cap off our best national draft since its inception in1986. We need an immediate replacement (For Brock) in our starting midfield for next year. Having said that, I know he won't be at the MFC next year. I can't be arsed getting my hopes up yet again.
  3. I thought this was going to be our home game (according to a demonland sauce), but never mind. Hopefully the members will get compensated with free entry (due to sale of home game to Darwin & Canberra) Round 3 - from a footy perspective be nice to play a home game V a WA team, but from a business perspective I hope we play a big 4.
  4. Has that awesome ability to find the ball and be in a good position to be fed it. Will be interesting to see who will turn out to be dux of 2007: Kreuzer, Cothin, Masten, Morton, Palmer
  5. Brad Boyd. Pretty sad what happened to them in the end.
  6. I'd be happy for him to contribute some more cash our way
  7. Probably were one of my least hated teams prior to 96.
  8. A slab will do fine mate. Thanks for the congratulations!
  9. ^^^ Good info. If Ball's going in the ND, and is not totally opposed to going to Melbourne (screw the influential family member, I'm sure Ball is capable of being a big boy), why don't we just pick him up at 18?? Last time I saw Collingwood have pick 30ish. Am I being too simplistic?
  10. The only reason I'm bothering to reply in this thread is to crack the 2200. Yeah he did look fat in the face.
  11. It's going to boil down to what city his wife prefers. I agree with you to some extent. If any of the bottom 4 teams want and can afford Bradshaw then they should feel free to pick him up, despite Bradshaw's intentions. On the topic of Bradshaw, I reckon he would've been a good option to warm the full fwd seat for 2-3 years while Watts and pick 11 KPF (Butcher?) develop. Would also give our attack some much needed bite. After all, we are aiming to win games next year right? Apart from Luke Ball, Bradshaw is the best available PSD option. I thought we were looking to land a big fish in the PSD??
  12. Not surprising what so ever. Impossible to pick up a high profile player when you've got a 12-54 record over 3 years. So who do we now set our focus on: Joel McDonald Jesse Smith Scott Harding Daniel Harris (handy replacement for McLean) I'd happily take any of the above players over an 18 year old who was ignored in a weak draft. There will be no Liam Jurrah fairy tales this year folks!
  13. Of the powerpoint variety I trust
  14. Good result overall. I'd rather have PSD1 than pick 34. Also, Spencer is not AFL standard yet.
  15. What happens to the prize if we don't play in SA next year?
  16. Fair enough mate, I haven't seen him at Casey so I'll back your judgement. It doesn't help that Wellman has sugar coated every player. He looked a likely type in our NAB cup game V's Hawks. Albeit he only played about 20%.
  17. Demon3, do you know if we're playing a home game at Manuka V Sydney? Also, do we have more Saturday or Sunday home games? I assume we'll play a Sunday twilight game in round 22 if both teams are out of contention - due to the AFL's new 'flexible' rd 22 policy.
  18. I think Demon 3 is on the money when he says we've got Hawthorn in round 1 at the G, due to process of elimination. So far the papers are pretty confident of these round 1 matchups: Carlton V Richmond Geelong V Essendon Sydney V St Kilda Brisbane V West Coast W Bulldogs V Collingwood Fremantle V Adelaide So that leaves Port hosting either Hawthorn, North Melbourne or Melbourne. And I read somewhere that Hawks are playing North in Tassie early in the season.
  19. Had a grand total of 1 kick in those 30 seconds- which I might add was a ripper! Sounds like he has the key ingredients for Bailey's run and carry game plan. We have nothing to lose with Bail as a late pick, so anything will be a bonus. Maybe he is the replacement for Buckley?
  20. My crystall ball tells me: Pick 1 - Tom Scully (Melb) Pick 2 - Jack Trengove (Melb) Pick 3 - Dustin Martin (Rich) Pick 4 - Anthony Marobito (Freo) Pick 5 - Gary Rohan (North) Pick 6 - Ben Cunnington (Sydney) Pick 7 - Kane Lucas (WCE) Pick 8 - Luke Tapscott (Port) Pick 9 - Lewis Jetta (Port) Pick 10 - John Buther (Essendon) Pick 11 - Jake Carlisle (Melb) Pick 12 - Sheppard (Carlt) Pick 13 - Melksham (Adelaide) Pick 14 - Moore (Collingwood) Pick 15 - James Talia (W Bulldogs) Pick 16 - Taylor (Essendon) Pick 17 - Nathan Vardy (Geelong) Pick 18 - Allen Christensen (Melbourne)
  21. Good to get a home Friday night game, but I was hoping it would be against a high drawing club!
  22. Anyone not convinced about Jetta needs to watch the round 21 game V's Carlton. Looked classy that day. 24 touches and 2 goals.
  23. Throw in Chance Bateman (also susp.) and the departure of Mark Williams who always murders us.
  24. I hope we play North once next year, and it's at the G.
  25. While I'm not concerned about that particular game - as we were list 'managing', I think we have a serious issue against North Melbourne. For a team low on talent they sure have our measure as they've beaten us the last 5 times. If we were playing North Melbourne next week I'd expect to lose by at least 6 goals.
