And St Kilda could make the 8 this year. All you have to in this industry is win and that's what they're doing. It's a foreign concept to us.

Last year Port beat Melbourne in rd 1 and then GWS in rd 2. This year the same has happened with St.Kilda. Just saying.

This post doesn't seem appropriate for the training thread. Too much information and not enough random crap.- 115 replies

28 and not a cloud in the sky. Will this suit us because West Coast played in 34 degree heat last Sunday. All will this suit West Coast because they train in this heat all summer and autumn?- 115 replies

I don't see any alternative than to risk 2 of McDonald, Fitz and Watts. -

Question marks are going to have to be levelled at the fitness department. Gawn all if a sudden hamstring soreness. -

Didn't Clark kick 3 goals in that match last year? -

We should probably look at playing Pedo as a key defender this week. He played his one decent game last year as a key defender and got in the afl coaches awards votes v GWS. He's less than useless in the fwd line. -

Knowing our luck Shuey will make a miracolous recovery by the weekend with a 42 possession 4 goal game. -

Simpson confident he'll play. I get the impression West Coast will err on the side of risk, as they are despearte to start 3-0 before a tough encounter V Geelong at Simmonds. -

Anyone like the idea of Viney as a Sub? If not, Casey has the bye and he won't play at all. I don't think it would hurt if he has a run around for the last 35 - 40 minutes V WCE when the fizz has gone out of the contest. Then have him primed for a starting role V GWS. -

Any chance the club will rush Garland back for GWS next week without a VFL game under his belt? Or this is too great a risk that is likely to backfire. A pity they can't find him a practice match to play this weekend. We've missed him this pre season and round 1. -

Garland would've played VFL this weekend had Casey been playing, and most likely return for GWS. Now it will be VFL next week and a possible return for Carlton in round 4. -
We've shown enough patience with Jetta. We could've done the same thing with Bennell. He was very good last week and will no doubt give Byrnes or JKH a bath to stick it up his old club.

Yeah I've always the thought the white clash jumper was the key reason why we're so crap....

Roos indicated on afl.com that Viney will play another game for Casey. Not a great drama either way as the Eagles game is not winnable.

Melbourne Vs West Coast Round 2
Bring-Back-Powell replied to InVINCEable's topic in Melbourne Demons
Last year we got done by 94 points. If we can keep the margin within 50 points, then that's direct improvement. I know the end result was dismal on Saturday night, but you have to remember we were down by 51 points to St Kilda last year in the 3rd qtr, so techinally we saw improvement from a competetive and % point of view. Finally, maybe St Kilda aren't as bad as everyone thinks they are?? -
Just quietly, I reckon Matt Jones was in our best 5.

I'm shocked there was not mention of McKenzie's injury in Misson's weekly injury update. We all know how honest and transparent that segment is! -
As if we needed another reason to hate North Melbourne

I actually don't mind the idea. Imagine queens birthday and the MCG not playing the Collingwood song before or after. Wouldn't mind that at all. As a compromise, if the away team wins, then the song gets played once and once only, regardless of the venue. Everytime we get done at the G, they play the other mobs song about 6 times which is annoying. I remember we got spanked by Gold Coast last year, and they had their song on repeat in front of about 4 people in the crowd while the dees fans had long gone. I reckon in the vfl days some away club songs never got played at some venues?? -
I think you're rght OD. At least the club is being proactive by seeking a second opinion. Clearly their treatment of Chris Dawes's various injuries have been an epic fail given the amount of games and pre-season he's missed. Remember he pulled out of a game, 20 minutes prior to the opening bounce last year.
-
Yes it is my wish list. Based solely on the ever "glass half full" injury list. It says he's 2-3 weeks. I'll be disgusted if he doesn't play before Queens Birthday.
-
Hoping he's going up there to prevent future calf injuries rather than dealing with the current one.
