Injury List - Season 2019
Careful. You're not allowed to bag Pert around here. They'll all tell you it's a complete coincidence and a freak occurrence that we're 3-7 with almost the worst percentage in the league and 90% of the list going backwards., in the time he's come on board.

Jordan Lewis suspended for 1 week.
Probably an element of truth to that. I'm sure he'd rather be at home with his family as opposed to flying up for 6 hours and playing a meaningless (in the context of our season) game in 28 degree heat

Jeremy Finlayson
Perhaps some truth into that. It seemed it odd that GWS were happy to let him go considering he had a good season last year. Having a much better year this year.

CHANGES: Rd 11 vs Adelaide
Based on Smileyโs injury report: In - Salem, JFK, Weideman out- Spargo, C Wagner, T Smith Meanwhile Adelaide probably get back Lynch, M Crouch, Gibbs, and a rejuvenated Jenkins in the one week - aces...

CHANGES: Rd 11 vs Adelaide
Preuss played against St Kilda in rd 5. I thought we lost that game by 40 points but happy to defer to the experts.

Jordan Lewis suspended for 1 week.
We'll miss his outside run and speed in the Darwin humidity.

CHANGES: Rd 11 vs Adelaide
I wouldn't be betting on Hibberd returning this week. Smylie (Misson) hinted last week that he might need an additional week of recovery. In - Salem, Lewis, Weideman, ANB Out - C Wagner, Spargo, Petty, T Smith I also wouldn't mind seeing JFK back for one of Lockhart or Stretch, but he'll probably need one more week of Casey. Still confused as to why Lewis didn't come in for Salem. Spargo was a poor choice.

CHANGES: Rd 11 vs Adelaide
Brayshaw's late run of form in 2018 coincided with Viney being out for the final 7 weeks of the home and away season. Therefore Viney has this year taken midfield minutes off Brayshaw.

The 2019 Mid Season Draft
Are we still a sniff to re-draft Toumpas?

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CHARLIE SPARGO
Was a solid contributor last year and played an excellent final vs Hawks. Had unusual poise for a rookie. But like 90% of our list he has inexplicably gone backwards.

PREGAME: Rd 10 vs GWS Giants
At the moment itโs looking like rain either late into the game or after the game.

PREGAME: Rd 10 vs GWS Giants
We have the second worst percentage (76.2) to GC (76.0). Sure the percentage will likely improve, but on what planet is that acceptable given we had a percentage of 131 last year. And Carlton have actually been hit hard by injuries.

PREGAME: Rd 10 vs GWS Giants
First of many occasions Lewis has been overlooked?

Is this 1987 all over again?
Pretty hard to believe we made the finals that year considering we lost to a horrid St Kilda by 46 point in round 17 at Moorabbin to take us to a struggling 7-10. Does anybody remember that game? I'm guessing those that went would have gone home dejected and wondering if we'd ever make finals again in their life time. We had an easy MCG kill against the Bears the following week and never looked back until the prelim. If we're 5-7 after Collingwood, then I think another 1987 could be on the cards for sure.

PREGAME: Rd 10 vs GWS Giants
That's an absolute indictment on us.

Injury List - Season 2019
If and it's a big IF we can knock off GWS, we're back in finals discussion and his return will be required before the bye.

PREGAME: Rd 10 vs GWS Giants
I don't think we lose anything with that late chance. Assuming Weed can play like a top 10 draft pick in his fourth year, coming off an excellent finals campaign.

Injury List - Season 2019
Sound like we should be budgeting for hibberd to return for Collingwood, not next week Vs Adelaide. Smylie Misson kind of hinted that he may need an extra week in his injury report.

PREGAME: Rd 10 vs GWS Giants
Naming Harmes on the extended interchange bench and then by extension naming him in Casey's 18 is almost an insult for someone who's been our best players over the past 6 weeks. I know the team on paper means nothing but they could've sneaked him into the 18.

PREGAME: Rd 10 vs GWS Giants
GWS have actually got much the same side in as rd 23 last year. In - Greene out - Ward, Shiel So you could argue their side is actually weaker with those outs.
-
Jayden Hunt
Surely his position in the best 22 is now locked, despite the 4 or 5 injured guns that are to come back (May, Lever, Hibberd, Melksham, Hannan).
-
Jayden Hunt
Quietly putting together a nice year and has been a bit of a revelation up forward this year. Already kicked 11 goals and is on track for 25-30 if all goes well. One of a handful of experienced players that has improved this year.

Goody Presser (22/5) - Left early as unwell
Hopefully not Chaplin.

PREGAME: Rd 10 vs GWS Giants
Win this and we're well and truly back in the hunt. The 8th place side (Adel, Port or Freo) could very well be 5-5 while we'd be 4-6. Makes last week even more frustrating as we could've been nearly 8th if we win this week. Still, will be a tough assignment with GWS near full strength while we've made no inroads with our injuries, and infact could be worse off with our concussion victims. Speculation of Lever possibly returning is surely nonsense. 7 possessions after 12 months out of the game would suggest he's not ready.
-
Changes vs GW$ Giants
If they go ultra conservative with the concussions and rest all 3 players then we've got the following to choose from. Lewis Lever C Wagner Sparrow Preuss Keilty Chandler Jordon Maynard Lewis and Preuss would be the first 2 selected, however they'd then have to choose from one of Lever. Wagner, Sparrow, Keilty, Chandler, Jordon or Maynard. Really scraping the barrel there and you could then possibly understand them choosing Lever out of necessity. Though you'd suspect they'll still stick to the plan of Lever playing a few weeks in the VFL.
