This bloke will not be dropped. Aside from being one of Goody's pets, we need his arrogance as per the above picture taken in Anzac Eve V2

Jordan Lewis Out with Broken Hand
Bring-Back-Powell replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Yes I was extremely tough and unfair on Fritsch as he was trying in the last qtr compared to about 18 others. However, he's having little influence on games apart from the odd nice cameo and may have to make way for Hannan to mix things up. Such is the tough position that is the forward pocket. Some have Garlett on the chopping block, but he survives purely because he has a proven track record of responding after a horrid performance....and that was horrid V's Hawks. -
Jordan Lewis Out with Broken Hand

Probably means that one of the serial 2018 under performers like Harmes, Melksham, ANB, Bugg or even Fritsch will be spared the axe. -
Tom Lynch of the Gold Coast variety to us. Jesse Hogan and Angus Brayshaw to Freo. Gold Coast to get some mint draft picks from Freo and possibly Melbourne. Sauce - none. Just made it up.

If there's training today hopefully someone can report if Garlett is ok. Hopefully there's nothing to read into him being listed on the extended bench.

Max Gawn not in Top 8 Ruckmen according to The Age
Bring-Back-Powell replied to bush demon's topic in Melbourne Demons
Probably missed out in the top 8 by some stupid Champion Data metric. Much like Collingwood supposedly having a top 3 midfield. -
Or at least even money. Their form line is no worse than ours and have had the tougher fixture todate.

The Jack Watts in 2018 Thread
Bring-Back-Powell replied to Ugottobekidding's topic in Melbourne Demons
I hope for his sake, that his JLT form doesn't end up being the highlight of his year. -
We won’t win if any of the following occur: 1) Brown kicks at least 4 2) We concede a 3 + goal start at qtr time 3) Jacobs holds Oliver to under 20 touches 4) If both Cunnington and Higgins are in the best 5 on the ground. I’m tipping us to win though. Not many sides win when their $3 or over to win.

Pedersen v Weideman this weekend
Bring-Back-Powell replied to Diamond_Jim's topic in Melbourne Demons
Pedo will survive at least the next 2-3 weeks while Weideman is building form in the VFL. However he won't want to keep dishing up 6 possesion 2 mark games like last week, if he wants to play the every game before T Mac returns. -
Changes v North Melbourne
Bring-Back-Powell replied to Straight Sets Simon's topic in Melbourne Demons
That's fine if he plays. He seems to attract the ball which is a good thing. But any danger he can kick 2.2 or 1.3 instead of his usual 0.3 with an out of bounds on the full. We would've been lauding his game last week if he kicked 2.1. In the corresponding game last year he kicked 0.4. If he kicked 3.1 we would've won. -
Changes v North Melbourne
Bring-Back-Powell replied to Straight Sets Simon's topic in Melbourne Demons
We have a standard 7 day break with North having one extra day's break. Both clubs played in 23 degree heat, however our game was far more humid. I'd be really disappointed if we can't run this game out considering their full time professional athletes and we have a 7 day break. -

Jeff Garlett, give him some love.
Bring-Back-Powell replied to Deestroy All's topic in Melbourne Demons
Some didn't even want him in the round 1 side. -
This is my concern. Jacobs is the best tagger in the business, so what happens if he restricts Oliver to 15-20 touches? Do we have enough midfield options to offset the possible loss of Oliver's influence?
-
I somehow don't think Johnny come lately's like Melksham really appreciate the pain and suffering that Melbourne and their supporters have gone through during this streak. On the other hand, veterans like Jones (16 losses), Jetta (10), Tyson (6), Vince (5) and Gawn (5) would be desperate to get the monkey off the bank.
-
Me. After our loss to North in Hobart (North were garbage that day, coming off an 8 game losing streak and we still lost!) I've resigned to the fact that we simply can't beat them. It's not our fault that Cunnington, Higgins, Waite, Brown, Tarrant, Wood and Ziebell all conspire against us to collectively play their best games of the year. It's as if Brad Scott says to his players "rest up for a few weeks so you can be cherry ripe for Melbourne." I'm actually more confident of beating Richmond on Anzac eve than I am North.

Training - week commencing 4 April, 2018
Bring-Back-Powell replied to Marco's topic in Melbourne Demons
I hope Hogan trained and trained well today. He hurt his groin last week. Directly after the game, Lynch interviewed him and he said he'll "hopefully" be good for next week. -

What's the promo code? Your MFC membership number? Edit - just saw at bottom of screen. -
Is this good or bad news? That's a lot of revenue that will need to be found else where.
-
I clearly remember that. On what planet did our coaching staff think it was a good idea to leave a little nippy back pocket on one of the premier full forwards of the game, and how did they allow it to happen?
-
I was referring to the round 1 team of the week. Garlett just went that day, but was magnificent on the weekend,
-
Nar I think it's a fair call. I thought Garlett was poor and hasn't really fired a shot since mid way though last year. Oliver was good though.

Changes v North Melbourne
Bring-Back-Powell replied to Straight Sets Simon's topic in Melbourne Demons
I'm treating North like their a top 8 side and hoping the players do as well. I think the JLT created a false illusion that they'd be a bottom 2 side. They most certainly are not. We came in way too arrogant and cocky last year against them and paid the ultimate prize. Had Hibberd kicked that goal with 2 mins left in Hobart, we would've been playing finals. We just can't afford to take this side for granted. This isn't a danger game. It's a 50/50 game which North would be extremely confident of winning.- 319 replies

Changes v North Melbourne
Bring-Back-Powell replied to Straight Sets Simon's topic in Melbourne Demons
I would be considering O Mac on Brown, our ‘premier’ defender who’s had an outstanding start to the season. he held Brown to 2 in the JLT which could give him confidence. I’m not averse to Frost coming back in, just not on Brown. Perhaps Waite!?
