Round 1 V Adelaide a possibility? It's Adelaide's turn to travel and add in the Jake Lever factor.

I really hope that's the case and we avoid North in Hobart in the home and away season. Seems to be a ground where we simply can't adjust to the conditions and consequently pee 4 points down the drain. -

He did say that but sounded more hopeful than confirmatory. -
He also said that the Lever trade was effectively trading for just pick 5 when you account for all the points.

Port the big winners in Trade Week?
Bring-Back-Powell replied to Bring Back Barassi's topic in Melbourne Demons
True, but at the end of the year they can say that they beat two finals quality sides. -

They did beat Sydney and West Coast. -

I like the fact that he's only on a 1 year contract as opposed to the Michie's, Newtons and Riley's of this world that clogged the list for 2-3 years. -
He'll stay with us. The paperwork will be faxed to the AFL a minute late.
-
Apparently may choose Geelong as they have better draft picks to trade with, post Motlop compensation.
-
And didn't Prendergast promise Mr and Mrs Sloane that we'd pick his son up at 17 or 19. We proceeded to use those picks on Blease and Strauss. If that's not bad enough, we then chose Bennell at 36 while Sloan was still on the board. Or what about a year later having 4 cracks at a National Draft in the top 20 and yet still not picking Fyfe (pick 20). Morons.

His performances during our 2 week regional back water tour of late July / early August were surely the final nails in the coffin. Not even sure why they bothered bringing him back for the Collingwood rd 23 game if they were pushing him out of the door.

Any chance they simply run out of time and miss the deadline, and Watts stays? If he hasn't been traded by Wednesday night, it's not beyond realms of possibility he stays.

Interstate fixture wish list: Adelaide - AO Port - AO Freo - Perth Brisbane - GABBA West Coast - Darwin Brisbane - Alice Springs. -
Port supporters on bigfooty reckon Watts and 36 for picks 30 and 33. So a lower end second round draft pick and also a 3 pick upgrade in the late second round as steak knives. Is this fair?
-
This trade would've looked a lot better had Salem actually played anything remotely like a first round draft pick and not been a compete marshmellow in one-on-one contests. The Vince trade was spot on. Forgotten those 35 possession 3 goal games he was producing in 2014-2015? And the Hibberd trade we payed unders. Not many clubs would've parted with pick 28 and expecting an All Australian in return. Hopefully his form continues over the next 3 years. I do concede that the club dropped the ball with the Howe departure. Should've done way more to convince him to stay. Mahoney's (and his department) made a few trade blues over the years but what footy manager hasn't? He's done enough to keep his job.
-
If Port are jerks at the trade table , Watts lines up for us round 1 next year.
-
Pick 29 for Watts isn't far off the money considering we traded a late 20's pick for this year's all Australian back pocket. Meanwhile Watts failed to make the All Australian 240 squad.

-
I really hope the trade goes down to the wire Thursday week, and then somebody accidentally faxes /emails the paperwork at 2:01pm. Then Watts kicks a career high 5 goals/12 marks in our season opening win against Collingwood next year.

Welcome to Demonland: Jake Lever

Not sure he's as good as Rance but may have Damien Gaspar, Tom Gillies and James Seller covered.
