  1. Port and Brisbane have been the most consistent sides this year and were both impressive in week 1 finals. Both club supporters would be entitled to be disappointed if they drop their respective home finals - particularly Brisbane who have played a whopping 2 games outside of QLD.
  2. Swans eh? Is that the club that used to regularly get 5,000 to their home games (and we're not talking a COVID restricted 5,000)
  3. Hard to feel sorry for Geelong in the trade department when the best player in the league fell into their lap at the end of 2015 and agreed to play for well ''unders''.
  4. Exactly. St Kilda had a tremendous membership increase this year but I'd be interested to know how many token 1 and 3 games members they had compared to what we had.
  5. Can someone please explain to me how some VIC clubs are going survive next year if they’re still hubbing in SE Queensland and playing in front of 1,000 people at Metricon?
  6. The whole idea behind this waste of money initiative is for Melbournians to still feel a part of the grand final experience despite not seeing an ounce of home and away footy this year. It hasn't worked on me.
  7. I also wouldn't be surpised if Gil and the boys want SE Queensland hubs to continue next year so they can continue the junket and escape Prison Melbourne until a vaccine arrives.
  8. Wouldn't be upset if he left. Hopefully Lockhart can take the next step and play all games and Rivers is a quaility small defender. In so many games he played this year he went off injured, came back on, went off injured again and was highly disruptive to our rotations. Played like a veteran near the end.
  9. A long as there's no hub garbage from next year where 350 people are attending games, then I'm excited.
  10. If we need to make a tough decision out of Hunt and Hannan, I'd re-sign Hunt and show Hannan the door. He was disappointing this year aside from the Richmond and NSW hub games. In 4 games towards the end of the season he averaged 5 possessions, 1 tackle and 0 goals. That can't cut at it this level.
  11. I thought the same thing. Occasionally players like Brodie Grundy have a poor season after signing a contract, which could've happened to Petracca but thankfully didn't. Perhaps the poster is concerned that he won't be as dedicated this pre season as he was last pre season - just prior to signing his extension in March 2020. Would love nothing more than Petracca signing a marquee 5 year extension this time next year and becomes one of the MFC's best and most loyal player in its history.
  12. One of the good news stories of the season. Looked the goods right from his very first quarter of footy V's Carlton. Pretty impressive for a 7 or 8 gamer to kick the sealer against GWS in the manner he did.
  13. Not sure if he has a future but his game against GWS in round 17 was pretty damn good. Kicked 2 important goals in the first half to keep our score board ticking over.
  14. We're pretty set for key position defenders particularly if Tomlinson plays down back.
  15. Anyone know Sheahan's track record on breaking a story? Hopefully GWS can throw in Toby Greene as steak knives like they offered in the Dom Tyson for pick 2 package.
  16. Ben Brown kicked 10 goals in a game -two games ago. (This year doesn’t count as it wasn’t a proper season) You’d think we’d all be doing cartwheels but clearly his perceived value as a prolific goal kicking forward has fallen off the cliff judging by some around here.
  17. Damien Barrett on the Footy Show just mentioned that Melbourne are leading the race for Ben Brown.
  18. That was Tomlinson who had the shot with under a minute left vs Geelong.
  19. Half time comparison: 2018 prelim: WC 69 Melb 6 2020 semi: Geel 60 - Coll 6 (72-7 in a full length game)
  20. Played their grand final last week.
  21. At best it would be one of those goodwill trades where a swap of picks in the 60’s are exchanged, and we got up about 3 spots in the draft - much like the Dunn trade to Collingwood. I can’t see O Mac having any value due to multiple poor games over the last 2 years.
  22. I have no reason to disbelieve you but it’s ALMOST technically impossible for Oliver to get to Carlton because he’s under contract. Saad will cost Essendon either a current or future first rounder, so therefore Carlton will need to cough up either a current or future first rounder PLUS an additional first rounder (which they’ll need to source from another club) OR a Paddy Cripps or McKay straight swap. We as MFC members can’t accept anything less than two first rounders for a 2018 all Australian member, a 2020 All Aust 40 squad member and a serial top 5 bluey place getter.
  23. I reckon Geelong ware beating Collingwood. This is a team that beat St Kilda by 10 goals on a Monday and then backed up on the Friday to spank Port by another 10 goals. It would be an absolute indictment if this full strength side goes out in straight settys.
  24. I don't mind Phillips due to his outside skills and goal kicking ability but his sloppy kicking at times will frustrate the faithful if we can land him.
  25. I still can’t work out how we’re an unassisted club given our low membership numbers and a year of no crowds (unless we got a massive windfall from those 350 or so people that attended most of our ‘home’ games).
