You can tell Bartlett’s livid about missing finals. Probably mentioned it about 6 times in his speech.
-
Not sure if it's due to his laconic and easy going appearance on the footy field but he couldn't look less excited being out there on Saturday, particularly after his goals and vision of him when the final siren sounded. I have no basis for this but I reckon he's found a suitor who has promised him more money and a set position - just a gut feel, hope I'm wrong.

Watch Gawn make it despite his worst season in years and Petracca misses the cut.
-
Tom Lynch and Gunstan kicked 3 goals on him in rounds 5 and 7. The rest of the games were 1 or 0. Maybe Weitering and Moore didn't have multiple goals kicked on them in any game this year? I'm absolutely flabbergasted May didn't get nominated. His games against St Kilda and GWS were near flawless for a defender, and he was dominant in other games too.

Channel 7 news on the ball again. Were confident St Kilda would be 'hosting' at Adelaide Oval.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BENNELL
Bring-Back-Powell replied to Tinks's topic in Melbourne Demons
I think he's damaged goods in terms of being an AFL player. I don't believe any club will go near him after this incident. It's not as serious as the Stack and Coleman-Jones kebab incident but it's just as stupid. -
A ruthless club would order the entire club to join Bennel on the first flight out to Melbourne today. They can enjoy their holidays in lockdown.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BENNELL

The club must now tear up the contract offer for next year. He’s made an absolute fool of Goodwin and Mahoney who gave him the lifeline and also cost us $50k of soft cap. -
Not sure what Freo have got against us making finals but they’ve sabotaged selections and clearly have no interest in winning.
-
Good start Sydney. 25-6.
-
If the Dockers were that desperate to win they probably would’ve rolled the dice on an injured Walters. Dogs should be winning this one quite easily and if they do lose then they should be considered as mentally soft as us.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - HARLEY BENNELL
Bring-Back-Powell replied to Tinks's topic in Melbourne Demons
Assuming it’s true, he clearly doesn’t have the professionalism required for AFL footy. Both parties gave it a shot, we move on. Even if he was re-signed for a year, I wouldn’t confidently have in our best 22 due to his injury issues. -
I don’t know if it’s his laconic attitude or whether he’s not happy playing for the MFC, but he could not have looked less happy after his goals and when the final siren sounded yesterday. I’d like to persist with him but he still hasn’t re-signed.

Good. Real good today, and for most of the year.
-
100% spot on.
-
Essendon $251 to win. Anyone brave enough to put a sneaky shekel on the Dons?
-
The 2% chance we play finals, he has to not be there.
-
The obligatory Essendon goal after the siren.
-
Hunt - 3 goals for the arvo.
-
ANB’s set shots have been perfect this year.
-
Class goal by Hunt.
-
Fritsch a set shot behind. All systems have resumed.
-
And may this be the last hub game ever. Good riddance to that.
-
Is that from the State that’s hosting this year’s grand final?
-
I don’t like where today’s heading if we have to rely on Baker and a couple of defenders to kick half our goals. Need the likes of Weid, Fritsch and Brown to pick up the slack a bit here.
