  1. Bumped into Clayton's Oliver's Mother while waiting around for an interstate game to start in 2018. If he's anything like his Mum, then I'd imagine Clarry would be a ripping nice bloke.
  2. I agree with all that. In previous years, there's no way known a team that's well and truly in contention such as MFC would be sent up to Darwin. Did you ever see dynasty sides such as Hawthorn or Geelong being sent there. Admittedly Richmond got sent up there last year for Dream Time but that was directly resulting from COVID hubs. That's what leads me to think that both clubs, the AFL and the NT have formalised a deal so that both GC and Melbourne will receive a shared payment for the game as compensation for their respective lost games in June. I just can't fathom a strong CEO such as Pert accepting this massive imposition without some sort of financial compensation.
  3. No, Tom Morris didn't say we've requested the Saturday night game. But I'd imagine we'd have requested the Sat night game to avoid the 6 day break. Would be keen to get a comment from Pert to see if this was a joint venture from both clubs or if the AFL said to Melbourne "too bad Melbourne, GC get all the money and we had to fixture an away side"
  4. I mean that neither Watts or Jamarra are anywhere near being ready based on their respective debut games. (Now watch him kick 3 last qtr goals to get his team over the line)
  5. There’s a whiff of Jack Watts circa 2009 debut about young Jamarra today.
  6. No masks required at seats. Syndey dominating uncontested disposal and marks which is a good recipe for winning a game.
  7. Sydney having a dip here at Marvel. Played an impressive 1st qtr and are capable of winning this. Being at the venue, the roof should always be open on overcast mild days like today. I don’t agree with the 100% roof closed policy.
  8. St Kilda could do a Geelong of 1993. End the season as the hottest team in the league and just finish outside the finals.
  9. Gerard Healy’s just joined the fun. He just called the Freo Dockers the “Dogs”
  10. I should be confident of a regulation 6 goal win against Hawthorn next week, but I’m not. They’ve been completely out classed by a middle of the road Freo.
  11. That’s absolutely not confirmed that we’ll making a quid out of this game. Hopefully Pert will clarify during the week. Its poor form to swap the fixture given people have known for 7 months that this game was supposed to be on the GC, and people have made their travel plans accordingly.
  12. Tom Morris in the half time segment hinted that we might make a bit of money out of it, but didn’t sound convincing. The more I think about, surely this is a joint GC and Melbourne initiative. I just can’t see us agreeing to play in Darwin if GC are pocketing all the cash and our travel and recovery plans are being significantly altered. Pert seemed a bit distressed about the loss of revenue in a recent video, so perhaps this is his way of recouping some revenue. Furthermore we’ve then requested to play the Dogs on the following Saturday night??
  13. Special comments by Nick Dal Santo in this afternoons game: “Koschitzke (Hawthorn forward) kicked 5 goals earlier in the year against the Hawks”

  15. Anyone give the Blues a sniff this evening? Would be a handy result. If we miss out on top 2 we can 100% blame the Adelaide loss. It should never have come down to an umpiring decision in the final 20 seconds. They are a terrible footy club who are in full rebuild.
  16. 30 seconds into the game last night and JB opened up his mistake account by calling Kyle Langdon instead of Kyle Langford. No time to waste there.
  17. I hope you’re right and we didn’t just get sent there on a whim without any financial benefit. Ofcourse they wouldn’t dream of sending the Dogs to play GC in Darwin which is instead next week at Metricon. Burgess will earn his bucks for this one in terms of recovery. We’ve never had a 6 day break after Darwin. Having said all that, the AFL have an infactuation with Essendon at the moment and their game against Sydney could very well be the Friday night that weekend and the Dees V Dogs in a stand alone Saturday night game.
  18. That genuinely sucks for you. I had fares booked for this one but will put it towards a travel bank and use it if we have to play Brisbane in the finals up there. I highly recommend Star City Casino (formerly Jupiters). They have a bunch of screens in the sports bar and also a few tv screens in a nice outdoor balcony area to enjoy the footy with a frothie. Most of the pubs in Surfers and Broadbeach are NRL centric.
  19. I wonder if Pert was consulted about this or if we were simply the bunnies that have copped the trip to Darwin to satisfy a GC Suns contract? The only thing worse about playing in Darwin (from a recovery perspective) is playing as the away team and not receiving a cent in return. As for Alice Springs, they couldn’t possibly play the Adelaide game there later in the year. That would be Darwin, Melbourne,, Perth, Alice Springs and Geelong to end the season. We have way bigger fish to fry than taking a tour all around Australia just before finals.
  20. In 2018 we played and beat the Dogs off a 7 day break after Darwin.
  21. A bit unlucky if we’re being honest. We’ll have a likely 6 day break into the Bulldogs Friday night game the following round, and we don’t get the luxury of the NT home gate. (Plus I and many other Dee supporters would’ve already booked airfares to GC, where this game was originally scheduled)
  22. I don’t think old mate Drew will commenting a game any time soon.
  23. I honestly don’t know if you’re being serious or funny/sarcastic (been a long week) but the Crows are getting worse as the season goes on at a great rate of knots.
  24. BT at it again: ”Adelaide gradually getting better as the season goes on” Adelaide after round 4: 3 wins / 1 loss Adelaide from round 5-16: 2 wins/9 losses
  25. Why wouldn’t they put Carlton V Geelong on Friday night as opposed to this garbage? Surely a good team vs a mediocre team is better than a mediocre team vs a bottom team. The AFLPA said no to Dogs V Sydney.
