  1. Actually prefer to play on the Saturday for this one. We need a good 7 or 8 day break ahead of our the last 2 games in VIC after 2 big weeks on the road.
  2. Most of Carlton’s set shots have been elementary and Walsh has snapped a few beautys. McKay snagged a set shot from outside 50 on the flank that none of our blokes could pull off. Meanwhile we take all our set shots from sharp angles.
  3. Anyone know what Taylor saw in Weideman to justify picking him over Harry McKay?
  4. Fox Sports - Channel 503, 3:10pm start. No free to air coverage unless in living in QLD.
  5. He coached pretty damn well 2 weeks ago against a 13-3-1 side. His list management ideas in order to hang onto top 8 relevance might suggest you’re onto something though.
  6. Honestly forgot that his Dad played for the Hawks. Just assumed he was a casual Hawks fan growing up like the Ox was. Still raised an eyebrow for someone who is so publicly a Melbourne man.
  7. The next 2 months will provide an indication on whether Goodwin is an ordinary to good coach or a fantastic coach that is on the brink of achieving greatness for this club. If it’s looking like the former over the next 4 game, then we’ve got a bit of work to do and there’s someone fantastic available to steer a talented list to the promise land.
  8. Watching the pre game fox footy show tonight and a quote from Gary Lyon in reference to the events today: ”I love the Hawthorn footy club. No I seriously do” Interesting thing to say from Mr Melbourne himself.
  9. He seems way too upbeat in his press conference to suggest that he hasn't got a head job next year.
  10. I have that exact thought over my head (except for the 25 year old bit ?) But as stated earlier, I can't see a "no jab no entry policy" into the footy until there is sufficient supply of vaccine.
  11. Oh well at least everyone's second team in the Doggies got to pick up their NGA talent (Ugle-Hagen) last year with a minimum of fuss. We should all be happy about that....
  12. If cases behave themselves, we should finally get back to the G with 25,000 capacity. If Andrews has designs on keeping the 2021 grand final, he's going to have to let crowds in by the second last round of the year or the AFL's going to Perth. Pure and simple.
  13. If we don't get to where we want to this year, we can directly blame that night against the Hawks. They were ripe for a thrashing. They had 10 of their best 22 out, put in a listless performance the week before Vs Freo and of course had this coaching turmoil to deal with. We drew against an $8.50 side.
  14. *secretly hopes Goodwin loses the plot over the next 6 weeks* Jokes...
  15. Tom Browne's tweet is unclear. Is he saying the AFL could prioritise entry for vaccinated spectators in this year's finals series? Or from 2022 onwards? After listening to the interview with Neil Mitchell and Pakula, both were emphatic that the no jab no entry policy should not and won't be implemented for the grand final.
  16. Looks like the Suns are employing the same strategy as the Dogs did last week by going tallish up forward. They've brought in Zac Smith as a recognised ruck in order for Burgess to go forward along with King, Corbett and this new fellow Jeffrey who kicked 9 snags last week in the 2's. Clubs are clearly working out that to beat Melbourne, one of the first things you've gotta do is quell May and Lever and force them to match up on talls, particularly Lever.
  17. And one of those 3 kicks was gift wrapped with a ribbon to his direct opponent in Tim English.
  18. Perhaps they brought his prior games at Metricon Vs GC into account which have been pretty damn good it has to be said. He kicked 4 goals in 2016 and was pretty decent in the 2019 game. Clearly he’ll have a role on Miller, and if he fails that, then I’d imagine it will be curtains for his season as he’s been really poor recently.
  19. Surely they’ll defer this policy until months after the additional vaccines come into Australia. You can’t promote getting vaccinated but not yet have the product available for all. It would be absolute discrimination for that cohort of society (under 40’s) to be excluded from the event and should be challenged.
  20. Call it an omission then. Jackson could’ve been dropped rather than rested.
  21. Can someone confirm why the best kicker at the club can’t get a game? Clealry we’re not interested in giving Jackson or Rivers a clearly needed rest.
  22. I agree with your comment. You're allowed to be upset and angry that Victorians MFC members (ie - the bulk of us) may miss out on a rare opportunity to see their beloved club play in a finals series. Hopefully COVID goes away for at least a couple of months and finals will go ahead at the G. A Perth only finals hub would be the ultimate middle finger to all Victorians who have put up with so much since March 2020.
  23. Pretty sensible and logical view by the sports minister. How can you implement a "No jab No entry" policy if there's not enough vaccine to go around?
  24. I get all that but it really is an extreme example of jeopardising you top 4 hopes in exchange for finances. GC, Perth and Darwin in the space of 3 weeks is just next level imposition. Couldn't we seek 2 home NT games next year to balance things out??
  25. Adelaide is currently at the MCG, but regrettably looks like it may be moved to Darwin.
