  1. Swings and roundabouts. We got away with an absolute bank robbery with Fritsch in round 7.
  2. Sure is the hardest proposition. However they always seem to drop 1 game a year down there (eg - losing to Carlton last year), so you never know.
  3. Some random thoughts should we unfortunately lose this week to West Coast but beat Adelaide in round 22. 1) Geelong will have top 2 sown up by the time we play them as we assume they'll beat GWS and St Kilda at home. We will have top 4 on the line while Geelong won't have anything to gain as they'll have top 2 sown up. I wonder if that might change Geelong's mindset and they hold a couple of things back, thus giving us a better chance of winning. 2) If we finish 5th and go 1-2 for the rest of the year, keep an eye on the battle for 3rd and 4th between Port and Sydney. I hope Port finish 3rd and Sydney finish 4th. We could potentially play Sydney in a semi final as the away team but play the final in VIC if COVID is still rife by mid September in Sydney. Much rather that than Port finishing 4th and having to play them over in Adelaide in a semi. Of course if we win this week, none of the above should matter provided we also do our job against a very poor Adelaide. We will finish top 4 and the destiny is in our own hands.
  4. I would say you've nailed that schedule. The only minor alteration could be the early Sunday game.
  5. If find guilty you don’t usually get less than 3 weeks when it goes direct to tribunal.
  6. And at least we’ll have about 7 less holding the ball calls against us.
  7. A bit of speculation Viney’s going to be suspended by the MRP, or fined at the very least.
  8. Or perhaps a Sunday 1:10pm or the recent "COVID" special of 2pm. But, yes it will be Sunday for sure.
  9. Next weekend as in 6/7/8 August? Or next weekend as in 13/14/15 August?
  10. I think Brisbane are cooked in terms of top 4. We'd have to go 0-3 to finish below them, provided they go 3-0.
  11. Wouldn't mind playing the Dogs at Marvel if we finish 3rd or 4th and play them. We play a beautiful brand of footy at Marvel and all our games this year have been over by 3 qtr time at the latest. Our record under Goodwin at Marvel is 10-3 or thereabouts. Having said all that I'm pretty sure we'll be playing Geelong if we hang onto 3rd or 4th.
  12. And a change to gain some percentage on north and hawthorn who have also had draws.
  13. Absolutely. You can’t just 100% blame the umpires when they’re just doing their job.
  14. Jackson’s been outstanding this qtr after my calls to rest or drop him. Awesome set shot from 50. Sparrow needs to go back to Auskick to learn what a handball is.
  15. Silver lining is that they’ve scrapped the nonsense finals bye. The only team that likes the pre finals bye is the Dogs because we all know they wouldn’t have won the 16GF without it.
  16. Now that we’re flying home, any chance West Coast stick around for another week to play us in VIC? Footy in WA is in the too hard basket IMO.
  17. Doubt it. Wouldn’t they have to also isolate for 7 days before playing? I’d say we’ll be playing GC in the pre finals bye if indeed we’re headed to Perth as we speak.
  18. This is why WA doesn’t deserve a grand final. They’ve made it so hard on the AFL and it’s clubs during this pandemic .
  19. Why wouldn’t we be returning to VIC and GC Suns heading on a plane to VIC to play tomorrow, as opposed to heading to Perth and having a game to catch up on before finals?
  20. Reports that a snap lockdown in SE Qld is imminent, or Brisbane at the least.
  21. Can see one of Port or Sydney getting done but not confident. Brisbane will simply beat Hawthorn. We’re the only top 6 club that’s battling to beat a bottom side this late in the season. North’s outs this week will preclude them from being largely competitive against Geelong.
  22. JT would’ve been the greatest recruiter of all time had he selected a Coleman medalist and a probable top 3 Brownlow medalist in the same first round’s draft.
  23. Knowing McGowan he’ll call a lockdown with 8 minutes notice.
  24. Actually prefer to play on the Saturday for this one. We need a good 7 or 8 day break ahead of our the last 2 games in VIC after 2 big weeks on the road.
  25. Most of Carlton’s set shots have been elementary and Walsh has snapped a few beautys. McKay snagged a set shot from outside 50 on the flank that none of our blokes could pull off. Meanwhile we take all our set shots from sharp angles.
