  1. I’m thinking 12:30ish bust just a guess.
  2. Speculation this game could be played on Friday at Casey Fields according to the Richmond Bigfooty board. No further details as yet. Please MFC do a live stream!
  3. Sounds like Goodwin was the stand in coach today with those stats.
  4. I think the AFL and all state governments should have confidence that despite our horrid reputation in containing the virus, we actually have done very well in keeping the recent Black Rock and Holiday Inn clusters under control. Therefore only a catastrophic outbreak like the one we had in July 2020 warrants games being moved out of VIC. I can’t imagine the better part of 2 years of no AFL footy at the MCG and Marvel. What an absolute waste of world class stadiums.
  5. If we have to go 28 days without community transmission, then round 1 should be ok for 50% crowds as we haven’t had a case since 19 Feb. Hopefully the VIC hotel quarantine program is “gold standard” for the next 4 weeks. If it is 30% for round 1 then members that book tickets nice and early should all be accomodated, and keep in mind that the record crowd for a Melbourne V Fremantle crowd at the MCG is just 27,000. With respect to the St Kilda game at Marvel in round 2, I think most MFC supporters will struggle to get a ticket for that one.
  6. All fantastic games you've mentioned. Interesting that nobody ever talks about our 1988 finals wins. Great wins over West Coast, Collingwood and Carlton. And we were one of the rare clubs in history to win 3 finals in the one year without winning the flag, in 1988.
  7. Is Daw even a certainty to get listed?
  8. And how’s his mate Hibbo? I don’t think he’s done a proper session yet all summer. Given Melksham played the last 2 games of the year in the midfield averaging 9 possessions per game , I’m hoping we can cover him as a forward option. He was fantastic in 2018 but hasn’t looked near it since.
  9. 2002. We were down by 8 goals at qtr time but somehow managed to kick a combined 14.7.91 in the middle 2 qtrs. We were out of petrol by 3 qtr time.
  10. Wonderful win that one. I’m far from a Goodwin fan but he coached some brilliant wins in his debut year- Adelaide and WC both away.
  11. That last quarter was thing of beauty if you’re a fan of Yze, Trapper and McLean at their best. Will always remember Pickett’s goal in the third quarter that gave us all the momentum.
  12. 2018 Prelim. Particularly the second half where we actually kicked goals.
  13. Have to agree. The last quarter against Hawthorn in 2016 was a coming of age sort of quarter for us. We'd gone from losing to Essendon by 147 points and going nowhere as a club to beating the 3 time reigning premiers three years later. We also came close to them in the earlier game that year. Watts and Tyson kicked some fantastic goals late in that game as well as Stretch.
  14. The 2005 and 2015 wins at Kardina Park. Looking forward to our next win down there in 4 years.
  15. Not sure what's going on with that one. I keep hearing that Adam Saad will be playing a grudge match against his old side in Essendon. And the Pies and Cats are meeting on Friday, as well as Roos and Saints. But nothing about our potential matchup.
  16. A simple little bit of communication to the members stating that due to the pandemic, training will not be open and available to the public until further notice would suffice. Fans (especially VICS) would have never felt so disengaged with AFL footy than at the moment. Nonetheless, entertaining report Deespicable. Hope you're right about Charles Spargo. If the plays more games like the Collingwood and GWS ones last year, he could very well be a player.
  17. Assuming premiership and sustained finals success are the number 1 priority over money or mateship for Oliver, Petracca, Brayshaw and Salem (who are coming off contract this year or next) then you get the feeling that this year is the last chance to get it right. If we balls this season up and miss finals once again, I reckon one or even both of Oliver and Petracca will not re-sign with us and we've probably missed what ever premiership window we may have been approaching - particularly if both Oliver and Pertracca both depart. Players that are starving for success are probably not going to hang around a club that's missed the finals 14 of it's last 15 attempts. I certainly wouldn't begrudge them.
  18. Hopefully someone can get to training tomorrow. Must time for an intra-club game in preparation for Richmond next week.
  19. The idea sounds great in theory but it never works. He hardly ever takes a contested mark when playing deep forward. He's much better at taking a grab in defensive 50 than forward 50. He's a ruckman by trade, not a forward.
  20. On a side note but on the injury topic: Saints are copping injuries left right and centre: Marshall (stress fracture) Paton (broken leg) Geary (broken leg) Crouch (suspended) Z Jones (hamstring but should be available for round 1) For the record we play them round 2.
  21. He sounds like a genuinely good fella off the field. And his season last year wasn't as bad as a lot of people made it out to be. Should be in contention for round 1 and the match simulation that I saw a couple of weeks back would back that up.
  22. Agreed. I'm hoping Hunt lines up in the forward line come round 1 and should be considering he's coming off a 4 goal game. Is one of our more natural goal kickers, and a pretty reliable set shot for goal.
  23. Just an opinion but I strongly reckon this will happen, and have thought so for a while. He's a strictly permanent inside midfield that should be taking at least 80% of the centre bounces, clearly plays his best footy there (per 2018) and the club is doing his career an injustice by often playing him in a useless half forward/half back flank role or on the wing where he's too slow.
  24. Are we talking about Majak Daw when comparing Weideman. Pretty sure Daw was drafted 5 years earlier.
