  1. Gone from 70kg to 80kg. He won't be pushed around as easily in the contest for much longer!
  2. Ha! Not really, a pub and 4 cafe/restaurant visits in almost a week is tame, I would've thought. Pre covid it would've been 4 pubs! 🍺
  3. And yet I've had quite the opposite experience. Green tick checked at a pub and 4 cafes/restaurants, also other retailers nearby. Local barbers have distanced queues down the street. I make a point of complimenting any business I use that is doing the right thing.
  4. This kid looks like an amazing talent. Look how clean he is, how well he reads the play, his foot and hand skills look very smooth, excellent composure. Huge amount of talent to work with. Slightly built and gets pushed around, as do a lot of junior rucks, will spend a couple of years putting on muscle. Of course, its based upon potential, as are all of the covid affected crop this year, but put him in a club that can develop him and watch out! Would love MA to be working with Max and Dogga, but can't see it happening unfortunately IMO he's likely to go 5-10
  5. I know its a highlight reel and all that, but its pretty bloody impressive nonetheless. No chance this kid lasts beyond pick 10
  6. #1 at Carlton. Three generations But I agree. Most F/S would not care
  7. Oh yeah, just found these too! Got to get me a pair of these to wear next season! https://www.etsy.com/au/listing/721219217/fingerless-wrist-warmers-with-buckle-afl?ref=sim_items_grid-12
  8. AFL will not let this kind of deal get through, too close to draft tampering, nor would I trust any other club that agreed to do this on the sly.
  9. Still waiting on a stack of stuff I ordered from the club on GF night and the following day (alcohol will do that sometimes) "Awaiting fulfilment" sounds like the last 57 years Wonder if I'll get it before Christmas?
  10. How so? Mac is a ruck/forward while Alleer is an intercept defender
  11. Do you mean straightening the off ramp to become parallel with the elevated Monash Fwy and terminate at Punt Rd closer to the Yarra? That's a great idea. Would require traffic lights at that point, rather than the northward merge currently next to Goshes. The advantage would be that traffic coming off the Monash could turn left or right at the new Punt Rd intersection rather than just travelling north. This would completely open up the triangle to Goshes parkland
  12. Correct me if I'm wrong M_9, but Trident memberships have gone up nearly 10% for 2022
  13. Read a bit about ruckman Josh Cripps, brother of Patrick. Havent seen much vision, but like the sound of him. Is he an option for us? Anyone know of his draft range?
  14. Could you please pm me tonight's lotto numbers? TIA 😉
  15. IMO Hill is worth a mid 2nd rounder and a contract amount that would be Chandler and Bedford's combined. And then some. As good as they've been this year, there's considerable improvement still to be seen from Kozzie, Spargo and even ANB. Bailey Laurie could also start his journey across half forward in 2022 Unless Bobby is considered an outside mid, I don't think we will pursue it.
  16. One small advantage of having pick 17 (which will prob end up being 19), regardless of it being for our 2022 1st rounder, is that if MA happens to be available at that pick the club will likely have the ability use 19 on another draftee and match for MA with later picks
  17. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is the whole issue in a nutshell. I'm am very happy with the swap. ...except, of course, if we finish last in 2022
  18. Only if he is available at pick 21+, as unlikely as that is. We would've used 17 by then anyway.
  19. 17 will end up either 19 or perhaps 20 with bid matching. Though the same could also happen next year. Do we have any F/S prospects next year? At some point we may have the need to rid ourselves of a 1st round pick to avoid using it on a F/S bid match, like Collingwood this year. Eg. Kalani White perhaps in a couple of years
  20. I like Goddard's assessment. If he becomes a Dee, Dunstan would be looking at our culture and development and backing himself in to improve and fight for a spot in our best 22. Its an attitude you want from a new recruit
  21. Might be wrong, but I seem to recall Martin was very heavily front loaded to dissuade other clubs grabbing him before Carlton in the PSD. Think it was over $1mill in season one and then dropped right back after that. My point being he may not take a huge slice of the cap next year, comparatively speaking. However, they may struggle to pay Walsh what he deserves when his time comes. And they must have a [censored] load of players on very little, the haves and the have nots.
  22. Correct me if I'm wrong DD, but AFL players priorities include: play with mates, play in a premiership and to get paid well. If he wants to play for a premiership contender he won't go near GCS. If he wants the cash he may also struggle there, they have a very tight cap. After his comments on the Saints' culture, I reckon he might have a point to prove. I think in the right environment (ie. MFC) he might become a very handy addition. Would be interesting to hear of Richo's thoughts
  23. Yes, spot on. Nick Reivoldt or Jonathan Brown on the GF edition of OTC said players like Hunt, Jordan, Weid, Chandler, Thomo will be a massive part of us pushing for another flag in 2022. They will be hungry and determined to claim a spot in the best 22. Similar to the Tigers and Hawks over the last 10 years. Add a couple of young draftees to develop (perhaps Woey jnr and AMW) and maybe Luke Dunstan and suddenly there's considerable competition. Good position to be in.
  24. Can someone clarify if we must add min 3 players via the draft, or is it simply min 3 players added to our list via trades, FA, draft, upgrades, etc? TIA
  25. Can someone tell Carlton that the objective isn't to collect the most footy cards? Is there anyone they aren't trying to poach?
