  1. Sorry to hear you’re unwell, DP, and wishing you a super-speedy recovery 💕 It’s a shame you’ll miss this match, especially since there’s so few rounds remaining and it’s not always convenient for you to travel from Sydney. I’m sure you’ll be watching from home, we’ll cheer extra loud for you! ❤️💙
  2. Sorry, us geniuses’ mistake. We clearly didn’t see the word “unfulfilled” in your original question… Probs because it was never there. 🙄
  3. I’m not an expert, and tbh I don’t really care what it’s called and how it’s classified. Ask anyone who’s legitimately suffered homesickness and I’m sure they’d agree. Again, my point is that these players who want to return home aren’t suffering from homesickness. They simply want to go home. There’s a huge difference between the two. That was my point.
  4. Our games at Casey simply don’t draw the crowds like our games at Ikon. We had just under 2,000 in attendance vs Adelaide at Casey two weeks ago. That number likely would’ve been double had it been played at Ikon. Same goes for our R3 match vs the Bulldogs at Casey where there was only 1400 in attendance. Besides that, the girls love playing at Ikon. Never having lost a match there helps, but in every respect Ikon is the better venue.
  5. Homesickness is a form of Adjustment Disorder which is indeed a mental health condition. Anyways, the point is: these players, while wanting to go home, are NOT experiencing homesickness.
  6. Except it’s not homesickness. There’s a huge difference between wanting to return to your home state/country for whatever reason, and homesickness, the latter being a legit illness. It’s a mental condition which can manifest itself physically in ways such as rapid weight loss due to loss of appetite, for one example. These players aren’t homesick and I hate that the word is bandied around so much. It’s yet another way of playing the mental health card which results in them being ‘untouchable.’
  7. Spot on! Homesickness is a real thing. It’s debilitating and it can take a very long time to recover from it. It absolutely [censored] me to death when a player cites homesickness as their reason for returning to their home state, especially when the player is a one-hour flight away and has the wherewithal to visit and be visited very regularly. Call it what it really is. Coz the one thing it ISN’T is homesickness.
  8. Oh, I didn’t see your comment as a put-down at all. I only learned of her taekwondo achievements recently and it was at the forefront of my mind. I agree that my girl Goldie will likely get the job and will likely kill it. 🤜🏼 Either of these two are more than capable.
  9. Just on Shelley, our pint-sized #30 is only 160cm and lucky to weigh 50k dripping wet, which can make her appear unimposing. But she’s a black belt taekwondo champion. Such an accomplished person and she’s only 23yo. ❤️💙
  10. It’s the longest suspension in the comp’s history. As Kat @Katrina Dee Fan said, no sympathy for her.
  11. Asked my go-to and he says we should know more about Gabi tomorrow, if not tonight.
  12. You really believe that in a four-and-a-half-billion-dollar industry being friends with the head coach of the club is what keeps you in one of the most important roles? Because that’s specifically what the poster said.
  13. Coz that’s precisely how our Club decides who stays and who goes, right? 🙄
  14. Your turn again. You do such a great job of it. 😊 But first… RUTHLESS, PRECISE & NOT HERE TO PLAY NICE! PS Paxy sustained the injury while giving Poppy the pooch a bath. Poppy clearly isn’t a fan of having a bath. 🤭
  15. It’s the same old same old. Clubs such as ours don’t hold sway like the “big” clubs and the interstate clubs. We’ll be getting sent to Mordor every season, and on a Thursday night. I’m amazed we don’t play there on a Wednesday night! Wouldn’t surprise me in the least. 😑
  16. For this reason alone I love him already. Hang in there, Travy. The love will grow. 😁
  17. I’m betting it’ll be Macka. Deakyn Smith once told me that when it comes to nicknames “about 40 suggestions fly around before they land on the most obvious.” In his case it ended up being “Deaks” but probably only because “Smithy” was already taken.
  18. What’s the point though? What would lobbying achieve? A grand total of ZERO is the answer. Seems the only time we get something favourable is when it’s by happenstance, ie. something favours the Collingwoods and Carltons and we somehow are involved. Even then I’m sure it’s not through lack of the AFL trying to negate such.
  19. I was actually gonna say “the AFL, via their puppet masters…” 👍🏽
  20. Except the AFL does what the AFL wants to do, no provisos. The whole “floating” of an idea is laughable. They’ll go ahead and do what they want regardless of what everyone else says. I’ll give them one thing though, they’re all for equality… our girls were sent to Mordor AND on a Thursday night. 🙄
  21. The Goldie-Mackin-Mackin-Sherriff goal was 🤌
  22. Tayla should be right for Saturday. We’ll know when the injury report comes out but if I hear anything sooner I’ll post it here.
  23. Egg on his face?! What has Grundy’s future with another club got to do with Goody? Since when is the level of success a player attains at his new club a reflection on his former coach?! Also, you’d like the Club to comment on the “whole Grundy disaster”??? Why??? Exactly what would that achieve? ”Goodwin 360 in him” what does this even mean??! Did you mean Goodwin 86-ing him? Or Goodwin 360-ing him, which doesn’t make sense coz how does one 360 someone? Genuine question.
