  1. Joel Smith has always had the attributes of a good player. Injuries, panic related errors and lack of a clear role have hurt him. Would definitely have been a Premiership Dee if not for the injury. Maturity and confidence can be a force in football and Smith is ready to make his mark for a bit. Wont last forever but he will be valuable. Shaun Grigg sort of valuable.
  2. I dont think Brereton was insinuating the board were concerned that they might be bang friendly either.
  3. Gerard Whateley was quick to move on.
  4. I heard SEN pregame tonight where Brereton was fawning and fumbling over Buddy. Dermott, struggling with eloquence at the least, said that he was on the Hawthorn board at the time Buddy was drafted. They wanted Buddy and also had their eyes on Paddy Ryder. He followed this up with what was meant to be a light hearted comment (*Paraphrasing) that the Hawks board had concerns that 2 boys from the West would not handle the Melbourne party life together. Along those lines. Easy to read between the lines where the Hawthorn board trust level was at. Dermott meant nothing sinister but it does give an insight into Hawthorn at the time during Clarksons early reign. Clumsy at best and if I was Andy Gowers now it might be worthwhile implementing a PR strategy with ageing superstars in the media. Now probably isn't the time for such jokey retells.
  5. Judd reminds me of a young Brett Lovett
  6. No, i am over incessant negativity against everything for the sake of being heard. It is tiresome. Anyway, I appreciate your new found positivity. Glad to have made a difference. Gratitude is the attitude 🙏
  7. I see you did not put the original post I was referring to in as it absolutely backed up my comments. The flat know it all attitude towards JVR game and possibilities for the rising star was exactly what I was referring to. Anyway I am not spending my time arguing with people like you. Enjoy your rage buddy I want no part of it and if you are going to quote people please use the full post not just a pick and please. I love the club, I love where its at and I am grateful for being able to experience it. You should try it.
  8. It's the language used. Think about the way this guy talks. Better turn up! Pathetic! No need to be such a drama merchant. We get what he means, again, again and again. Reality is that 50K on a freezing Fri night is not Pathetic. Just an on line alarmist who wants to be heard. The more likely scenario is that the poster merely wants others to reply and ask if he was there or not to which he can reply with a wry grin that he is abroad. I actually think that is a more apt definition of pathetic than having a crack at a 50K D crowd.
  9. These clowns are the only bad thing about the site in reality. We have a club that won a flag 2 years ago, has the best 3 players of the last 30 years in the team, and has a crack every week. I enjoy this footy parallel universe to the previous 50 years and the incessant negativity / baiting is moronic, low brow and juvenile. Always the same posters and I have neither the will nor inclination to engage but it is almost always a frustration.
  10. No worries Albert.
  11. is this demonland or dogland?
  12. Looking forward to seeing Blake Howes hopefully get a crack and take his opportunity in the same was Chandler and McVee have. We are a much more energised and efficient side with these guys.
  13. I want some goof balls
  14. That is your "embarrassing club" referral? Each to their own I suppose. Compared to PF 87, GF 88, 186, Rd 22 2018 and countless decades of tripe my embarrassment barometer is calibrated differently to yours.
  15. for the nose into the ground first tackle? Not appealing that was not embarrassing if thats the incident you are referring to?
  16. Not much the club has done over the Goodwin era has been embarrassing at all. What do you mean by that?
  17. I agree it is shallow thinking.
  18. Don't be a clown
  19. They should have been in much earlier. Its great news. So often do you hear the scare tactics of financial projections of these things but usually everyone has a vested interest. Different scenario but sort of same thing applies with Suns and GWS were given entry. No doubt we were sold rubbish about how much of a positive impact it will be. Really, we would be doing so much better as a comp with a Southport team and Tasaie team already established for the last 10 years? Would be great, solid established supporter base. Point of the story being trust your own instincts over knobs who lie anyway. Those who made those decisions are never held accountable however they do get their hairy back scratched forever more.
  20. Tap work and follow up is sublime. Smart decision maker and simply a completely different player to Max. Jackson did not produce anything near the work Grundy is doing. Never. Je will never work as hard as Grundy. The dream is to see us beat the arrogant Daicos cult to win the flag by deploying Frampton against the 2 big Fellas. The obvious nightmare is not worth contemplating.
  21. Such a shame the Burgess had to go home to Adelaide.
  22. "Forcing". Are you a footy journo who hasn't got the energy or think that we all need to watch every game. Thur x 1, Fri x 1, Sat x 3, Sun x 3 and mon x 1 Just makes sense to me.
  23. Scott Thompson a number of levels higher than elshaugh who was good player
  24. No one comes close to Clayton.
  25. Fairly self explanatory question I would have thought?
