  1. No, but Turner might. Understand where you are coming from but question marks over Brayshaw and also Clarry, Viney a warrior but getting on also. But right now our premiership window is still open, our backline is not an issue. To take that next step we need a bit of class and polish and I believe some speed as well to help with that connection between our mids and forwards. We have also lost midfield depth with Dunstan, JJ and Harmes we need to replenish mids for the now. Next year trade or draft for Key Position Defenders.
  2. 6/ Gillard 5/ Hanks 4/B. Mackin 3/ Goldie 2/ Heath 1/ Purcell
  3. If this is how it falls I wouldn’t be to unhappy with that. For me suits our needs.
  4. It is a genuine pleasure to watch these girls play live. Went with my daughter and a few of her friends that I coach and you learn a lot from watching this team. They are selfless and disciplined and play their roles really well. Gillard is a rock in defence her ability to spoil but hit it to the advantage of a team mate that is in position ready for the spoil is second to none. Our ability to win the ball on the inside and get it outside by handball and use chains of handball to move it is outstanding. Sometimes they can use one too many handballs but you wear that. We are usually good by foot but I thought we were a bit off there last night. There was a bit of a breeze but didn’t think it was a big factor. North hardly fired a shot after the first quarter largely due to our defensive pressure.Agree with the crowd a bit disappointing and North did not show up at all. After the game the girls went down to the fence and after the team sang the song they go around the boundary and engage with the fans. The girls asked Kate Hore and Banno for selfies and they obliged. But what struck me was that after the selfies they said to the girls “thanks for coming and supporting us” Others that high fives the girls also thanked them for coming.Honestly people get around this team, they play a bloody good brand of football and they are humble and fantastic role models. They make you proud to be a Melbourne supporter which is great as over the last few weeks especially my pride as a supporter has been dented. Go Dees!!!!!!!!!
  5. I understand the lure of home and if a club in your home state throwing some serious coin at you it is tempting, show a bit of respect to the club that was very proactive and strong in supporting you during the Zorko incident. Pretty ordinary performance Harry and I’m not talking about your golf.
  6. Bang on. I just want us to put a bit more value on offence. We work so hard and well behind the ball to set up and defend but we lack the same urgency when transitioning from defence to offence. We can win the ball in the back half and switch the kick but we don’t see players busting a gut to push over to that side of the ground which is the fat side to be an option. I noticed at our B & F that Goody made a point of acknowledging Mick Stinnear and our AFLW team in particular the brand they play. I really hope that he adopts some of those methods and becomes more offensive. Have said it before and I stand by it I actually enjoy watching our AFLW team play more than our male team. It is not necessarily because of the results it is purely gamestyle. It would also be a more enjoyable brand to play as a player as well.
  7. I would be really disappointed if we went for O’Sullivan first. Not our immediate need now while the window is still slightly open. May for me was our player of the finals and we can think of replacing him in a few years time. We need pace, skill in our midfield to front half.
  8. If Hawks get Ginnivan then not sure they will get Watson so I think he goes to the Doggies. I am a massive Watson fan and have seen a bit of him this year and would love to pick him up as I think he is an upgrade on all of our smalls .Would be an excitement machine like Jackovich or Jurrah where fans are up off seats when he is near the ball.
  9. Tap BBB on the shoulder tell him he’s cooked and give home the role of forward coach restructure has contract and frees up a spot on the list.Move Stafford to specialist ruck and stoppage coach. If all that fails give Roy Boy’s Nanna the gig, I think she is onto something there.
  10. He was the leading goal scorer in the national under 18 championships which tells me he kicks a few as well. Great effort for a small.
  11. If he’s from Edi-Asp it’s a no from me.
  12. I would hope that we are not making any contribution to his salary if he is traded
  13. Wouldn’t mind recruiting Fogarty, even if it’s for only 1 game. The return game against Collingwood, get home to smother a Brayden Maynard kick.
  14. And our AFLW team which is absolutely flying has 3 Irish girls playing and contributing really well.
  15. No thanks, I’m not over beer
  16. Agree mate. Clarrie getting held at most stoppages. Worst example being the lights out game against the Lions at the Gabba. They were holding all of our kids, I thought I was watching an episode of dancing with the stars and occasionally a game of football would break out. All it takes is for Max to wander over to the umpires and say “there are 4 of you [censored] out there any danger you can watch what is going on and blow your whistle” You could add the AFL taking Darwin off us as a zone and give it to the suns leaving us with Alice Springs. We could go on and on but you’re right we just cop our whack and get on with it. I don’t want us to turn into serial whingers but every now and then I would love them to publicly fly the flag.
  17. Liverpool Football Club acknowledges PGMOL’s admission of their failures last night. It is clear that the correct application of the laws of the game did not occur, resulting in sporting integrity being undermined. We fully accept the pressures that match officials work under but these pressures are supposed to be alleviated, not exacerbated, by the existence and implementation of VAR. It is therefore unsatisfactory that sufficient time was not afforded to allow the correct decision to be made and that there was no subsequent intervention. That such failings have already been categorised as “significant human error” is also unacceptable. Any and all outcomes should be established only by the review and with full transparency. This is vital for the reliability of future decision-making as it applies to all clubs with learnings being used to make improvements to processes in order to ensure this kind of situation cannot occur again. In the meantime, we will explore the range of options available, given the clear need for escalation and resolution. Above is a real contemporary example of what I would like to see in terms of communication from the Melbourne FC to its members from another sporting passion of mine. It’s short, sharp, strong and respectful. As a supporter I know that my club is onto it, but I don’t have that same level of faith in the MFC as we don’t know because we don’t hear much. Have the AFL had a good year well commercially yes but operationally I would say no. I just want Melbourne to be seen to be a bit more vocal or transparent about issues that affect our club. You don’t have to be areseholes about it but I just see us as a very nice club that tells opposition players that their nose is bleeding and to clean it up. Nice doesn’t always win. I want us to win. Until such time we will continue to play Geelong in Geelong.
  18. WCW the year we don’t play Geelong in Geelong I will believe that. If we are calling things out and nothing is done about it then call that out too. I don’t want anything too over the top but the odd thinly veiled swipe at a press conference, a short club statement to members about the Maynard incident about being disappointed in the outcome etc we will continue to support Angus etc etc, the two touched goals against Carlton in seperate games, I could go on but just something occasionally from the club to show members / supporters that we are taking a stand would be nice. Be a closed shop when it comes to recruiting and trading etc but a bit more transparency and dialogue with members about issues concerning the club eg a training base I am sure would be welcome and deserved by our 70 000 plus members.
  19. Or we could stick up for ourselves and call things out instead of being the nice guy. The passive acceptance we have annoys me. I don’t want us to go full Eddie and turn into a serial whinger but every now and then make a stand and not be the serial pushover.
  20. Several human errors in this game, the disallowed goal. Two Liverpool players sent off incorrectly. You cannot make this stuff up. There is an agenda in the EPL as much as the AFL wanted a Collingwood grand final.
  21. Well done to Adams placing in the grand final sprint. We should have picked Schache though so at least the poor bastard got to go on the MCG during the finals.
  22. I thought abc stood for anyone but Collingwood
