  1. Don’t entirely disagree with you but it’s within the law of the game now. Tactical nous, other clubs have it

we do not.
  2. Unfortunately I think it is closed. Others going past us and giving us windburn on the way through. To our Western Australian brethren who witnessed in the flesh football nirvana, I genuinely envy you. I do think we will make finals but wouldn’t surprise me if we just miss out. I just think there are teams out there with deeper lists and better coached.
  3. At least he got to sing the song after the game tonight.
  4. Seems nothing much has changed. Chronic overuse of the ball in wet conditions and In efficiency going forward and in our conversion. We can usually hang out hat on defence but that was poor as well.
  5. I detest Thursday night football. Ruins your Friday as well as the weekend.
  6. The way we’re playing we couldn’t get a bang in a brothel
  7. Feel like I’m watching a game of tennis but with a football
  8. Get the grippo out FFS. The only positive in this half is Salem.
  9. White baggers easily beat the blue baggers ( if you don’t laugh you cry ) To all those in the media that have been potting us eat a bag of [censored]!!!!!! Go the Mighty Demons
  10. Should Angus be financially compensated absolutely. But in no way should Melbourne be paying it or wearing it in our cap. Unfortunately through no fault of ours Angus is no longer an employee of the Melbourne Football Club. The Melbourne Football Club exercised its duty of care on and for Angus, the AFL did not. This on them and should be coming out of league coffers.
  11. Now unfortunately a few weeks away from round zero (ohh FFS) we essentially have two unused spots on our list
  12. Thanks for the memories Angus, wishing you all the best in your future. You are a true demon warrior and class act. Brayden Maynard you are a [censored]!!!!!!!!!
  13. Because Jack Viney said so And I’m OK with that. But this round zero thing has got me well and truly [censored]!!!!
  14. Big risk by Collingwood holding their family day on Valentine’s Day. There will some very disappointed cousins out there.
  15. Meanwhile Hawthorn have turned the first sod of soil of their Kennedy Community Centre training facility in Dingley. Albo, Andrew Dillon and the state sports minister all present.
  16. Maybe we could do a Dees supporters rate Herald Sun Journalists
  17. Southern Football League Division 1. Was kind of hoping he would play Mornington Peninsula Football Netball League. Will have to watch him play round 1 at Chelsea Heights ironically against the demons.
  18. I get where you are coming George and we may live in a glass house but don’t think we have thrown any stones. The difference being that in our AFLW team still exists and our home ground whether people like it or not is Casey. Oval 2 at Casey is the home of our Next Generation Academy (including females) so far I think we have kept our side of the bargain with the exception being playing 2 home finals at Ikon.
  19. Sizzlers shut up shop years ago Bluey!!!

and soon. Would cost dollars but with the technology and engineering now of movable stands at Marvel and moveable playing surfaces eg Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas I don’t see why you can’t have a moveable stand on the inside of the racetrack for premium race meetings that moves to the football field to enable the ability to host AFLW games at Caulfield. Might be a stretch hosting AFL practice games would depend on the height of stands allowed to boost capacity.Agree that we should keep Casey for the club to use. Despite its geographical location it is a good facility and we need to have a presence out there as it is the base of our Next Generation Academy and zone (FWIW). Don’t agree that we should be playing home AFLW games at IKon purely and simply because it’s not our ground. I would argue that if we played both our finals at Casey this year we would have one at least one of them.
  21. Surprised that he is training with us as Palmerston and Gippsland Power are not in our Next Gen Academy zones. Not that it matters much as previously mentioned the system is broken and benefits only the Northern States teams and Coates league teams.
  22. With the recruitment of McAdam we have some serious weapons down there now. That forwardline will benefit greatly from speed of ball movement where I will back them in one on one but they need to be given the opportunity. Other areas also need to be fine tuned like leading patterns, blocking to give the bigs separation for a lead. Smalls being front and square etc. We can go to our default method of slow and wide as a source of game management but quick ball to a forward line with system to allow the forwards the best opportunity to do their thing before our opposition get numbers back and also our allow our mids and backs the ability to set up behind the ball for repeat entry or at worst a stoppage. It’s just a slight tweak to put more value on the offensive side of our game. With our recent recruitment it suggests that we will be doing exactly that and play more attacking football but ultimately the proof will be in the pudding. I am looking forward to seeing a more attacking Melbourne in 2024.
  23. Well done to the football club for putting this out, maybe there has been a reaction to member / supporter reaction. For me though this needs to be the minimum standard. We get some great training reports from the demonland community which are much appreciated but I would love to see something from the club “ The Richo Report” which gives a rundown on training from their point of view, especially the closed sessions without giving any obvious secrets away. Something along the lines of the link that trav14 posted yesterday to afl ratings report which was brilliant.Just take that member / supporter engagement to another level.
  24. Agree wholeheartedly Kev. It’s like training lotto. Are they at Gosch’s or are they at Casey. If it’s at Casey will it be an open session or watching from a perimeter fence. It’s school holidays and a great chance for the club to engage with younger supporters by encouraging them to view a session. The players are great with the kids when the opportunity presents itself but the club does a real poor job of promoting / advertising training and quite frankly it shouldn’t be that hard to do in this day and age.
