Well the Balls are in our court if it’s Melbourne’s turn to design the Anzac Eve banner next year.

Adding a Darwin Game?
Have Gold Coast run this by Christian yet?????

Adding a Darwin Game?
We used to have Darwin as an NGA zone which was taken off us and given to the nepo babies in Gold Coast. We are building a fortress in Melbourne. Hope we tell the AFL to [censored] off!!! Send Collingwood there. It’s not just about playing the actual game in Darwin. It’s the effects of the humidity for the week after. Money can’t buy the vibe that we currently have in Melbourne.

POSTGAME: Rd 06 vs Brisbane
Will be interesting with Junior Footy season starting this weekend the effect on crowds. There are a lot of Melbourne supporters at my club / suburb we head upstairs to the social club to watch the game on TV leading into coaches corner.

Agree. I loved the coaching move at the start of the third 1/4. Moose starting ruck and Max as a deep forward to make Andrew’s accountable, also frees up Roo and Mihocek.

TRAINING: Saturday 18th April 2026
It’s Nathan Williamson practicing paying free kicks against Melbourne Edit post: You later said he was good at it. It’s definitely not Nathan Williamson then.

PREGAME: Rd 06 vs Brisbane
Looking forward to this game to see the response against the best team in the competition. Love to see us win the first quarter, haven’t won one all year. Most importantly for me I want to see a massive improvement in the tackling intensity ( Gold Coast game) we cannot allow too much uncontested possession as they will absolutely carve us up. Pressure must be amped up from our forwards we need to get the balance right down there, love the offensive side of Melksham and Fritsch but they let us down defensively. Obviously Melksham out for this one but a bit concerned that we may be one tall too many. Bring the heat Demons, the effort and attitude things and see where it takes us.

2026 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Genuinely shocked Wil Malady doesn’t feature in the top 20. I’m sure his time will come.

PREGAME: Rd 06 vs Brisbane
Like this line up has balance. We need to inject some pace in our backline and Heath deserves an opportunity. Today was poor effort wise and a statement at selection needs to be made plus there needs to be true competition for spots by rewarding performance in the [censored] show of a competition that is the VFL

POSTGAME: Rd 05 vs Essendon
Really disappointing as I’d hoped we were a new club and those type of performances against a winless side were behind us. Public transport is free in Victoria this month and Melbourne had too many passengers today. We need to stay hungry and humble.

Farewell Clayton Oliver
Agree with what you say. We are also playing surge football getting the ball forward quickly by any means necessary eg soccer kicks. We are set up ahead of the ball really well with our forward entries, we are proactively looking to score. With Goodwin our forward entries were based around being set up behind the ball defensively. I always believed that this method didn’t suit our forwards. I love the current approach and it is quite apparent that the players do as well. Credit to everyone involved that has been able to make the appropriate changes so quickly.

PREGAME: Rd 05 vs Essendon
Essendon’s second half was good last week and they have a few good ins. We just get the job done here. Gawn to dominate giving our on ballers silver service. We bring the heat against a lesser opponent with that manic tackling pressure we get plenty of supply to our forwards where we just have too may options for them to cover. We will learn a lot about the team this game. It is a different team and a different club and I think the speed demons get the job done by 5 goals plus.

- Ours is fastest ball speed(!)
The eye test would suggest that we are moving the ball quickly. Apparently we were last year…….. my eyes didn’t see that though.- POSTGAME: Rd 04 vs Gold Coast
Grand final aside that is the best Melbourne win that I have witnessed. Four quarters of pure guts and determination. Loving our ball movement and our game management. We are playing intelligent and really watchable football. When the floating fixture is release I don’t think we will be playing many Sunday twilight games.- POSTGAME: Rd 04 vs Gold Coast
God Save our gracious King, Long live our noble King, God save Steven King!!! Send him victorious, Happy and glorious, Long to reign over you, God Save our King!!!!- GAMEDAY: Rd 04 vs Gold Coast
Nathan Williamson must be in the CFMEU- GAMEDAY: Rd 04 vs Gold Coast
True but it’s the free kicks we aren’t getting that is the issue- GAMEDAY: Rd 04 vs Gold Coast
Whatever Kossie’s contract is, how much, how long….. Bargain.- GAMEDAY: Rd 04 vs Gold Coast
Our tackling pressure has been great especially our forwards. We are getting looks just that theirs are a bit cleaner. Our forward entries are a bit chaos which I am ok with but we need to make their entries dirty entries. Umpires adjudication of 20 metres has been [censored] woeful.- Who is the new kicking coach? Give him a contract extension!
Been impressed with Langdon’s set shot for goal accuracy. Need to do overtime with CJ though.- POSTGAME: Rd 03 vs Carlton

Not a bad shout. I had Langford in mind for that role. He could learn a lot off Cripps and thought he would also be a good match up. I would also like to see Culley start to get some midfield time. With Rivers out someone else has to get some midfield minutes. - Ours is fastest ball speed(!)
