CHANGES: Rd 23 vs Geelong
It wasn't like for like when Tmac came out against WC for Jordon so we can go smaller on a wet deck. Going back to our usual 2021 line up it seems. Not related to the above quote and response, I have noticed a lot of posters saying players need/should get a rest cos the look tired. The players get 6-7 days break from games, It's plenty of time to recover unless knocked around a bit, a big corky etc. Players wont be rested for being "tired", players get rested if they are sore and have not been able to train at 100%. ie: Salem, Tmac and May from this year. Having a week off for "rest" when we might possible get a week off first week of finals is counterintuitive to progress of this side.

Richo’s Praise of Luke Jackson
I think what transfers well is the philosophy behind playing. In basketball you are a bit less "see ball get ball" and are thinking about the play to create an open shot ie: putting on the block and creating space for the team mate to gather the ball. I think its something Dogga does particularly well when in the middle

Majak Daw off-the-ball incident
They say in the report Majak hit Cox with an elbow but in the video I can only see the arms come across his neck. So it looks like a forearm to the throat. Is there another incident other than this one? For Majak to do something like that (I'm not excusing his actions) maybe Cox has said something to Majak during the game, he is a trash talker on field.

CHANGES: Rd 23 vs Geelong
Not every player is gonna get 20-30 touches, Its about impact. When he has the ball either him or the person he kicks it too impacts the scoreboard.

CHANGES: Rd 23 vs Geelong
Out: Smith, Jordon, Sparrow In: May, McDonald, Viney I think Melksham has the X factor and the foot skills we have been missing. Very happy with him in the side the last two weeks. Unfortunately I see Jordon and Sparrow coming out to make way for more experienced players

CHANGES: Rd 22 vs Adelaide
I got a feeling we wont be bringing in a tall, keeping melksham in the side and just bring Tmac in against Geelong if his back is ok then.

Trade Targets
Jason Taylor was also at the club at the time
-
Trade Targets
He was that highly rated at the time that Paul Roos said if we didn't do the trade with GWS we would have taken Billings over Kelly.

POSTGAME: Rd 21 vs West Coast
He was unfortunately terrible. I turned to my brother and said he ain't keeping his spot. Jordon, Viney, Sparrow, Jones all in front of him in terms of selection for the rest of the year now

NON MFC: Rd 21 2021
What a shame Bruce has done his ACL, now Steven May Can't keep him goal-less in the grand final.

NON MFC: Rd 21 2021
Absolutely! Plus finals and grand finals aren't played at Kardinia so if we happen to come up short that game it isn't the end of the world :)

Best Midfield Combo
There isn't a problem with the midfield combo, Max just hasn't been tapping it to advantage as much as he could be.

NON MFC: Rd 21 2021
Besides our game I think Richmond VS North and Freo Vs Brisbane are the most interesting. Freo can keep their top 8 spot whilst Brisbane have been struggling. Who will take their opportunity? North have been competitive and building well, Richmond are getting some names back. Prestia was back to his usual last week and they really need McIntosh and Vlaustin back into that line up. Geelong should take care of GWS easily (PS: How is Quintin Narkle not a regular in that team? would love to pick him up) Port should take care of Adelaide easily without their racist captain. Wont win another game for the year. Carlton should beat the suns easily if they play with pressure, but its Carlton so  Too many outs for St Kilda, No Marshall no Billings, No Howard. Buddy could get off the chain here Hawthorn V Collingwood should be a competitive match, whoever wins the contested ball will win, I think Hawthorn just have the better midfield. Bulldogs with Trelor back in will take care of the Heppell-less dons. Dons just aren't good enough for long enough and their forward line is the worst in the comp. And then theres us, going up against West Coast which has been absoletly smashed in the media all week and Had DV retire. They should be fired up to compete against us, and we want our last top 8 scalp.

Tasmanian Team
I agree, it is very difficult. It's taken 10 seasons to get membership bases of GC - 19,460 (pop 700k) and GWS - 30,185. (pop 400k) Hobart has about half the population of Canberra so it would have to convert about 65% of their town into members to get even close to 30,000 members I think you'd have to have their homebase in Hobart and play 3 home games in Launceston. Then you can sell 3 game memberships to Lonnies residents. Kind of like how GWS play some games at Manuka Oval every year. The Tasmanian government would probably be the first and main sponsor. They wouldn't continue supporting Hawthorn if they have their own team.

Position names
I think the NBA has moved in a similar way. Used to have point guard, shooting guard, shooting forward, power forward and center where similar shaped and skilled players filled those roles. 2 tall's for in the paint, 1 medium shooter/defender, 2 smalls - 1 for ball handling and one for shooting. Nowadays teams play tall and small. In the USA Vs Australia game Devin Booker a point guard was playing technically as a power forward. You cant call him a power forward. The ball handler has changed too since Lebron/Kobe took over from point guards, so its more here is our 5 individually skilled players playing a role on the court versus your 5 players. They rotate highly through only 7-8 players. Like Ben Simmons at the 76ers, hes built like a power forward but plays point guard. So I see a similarity with AFL where its more heres our 18 players with jobs and roles against your team and game plan, therefore each teams positions and labels would have some crossover but be unique to the team.
