  1. What would be best offer we'd get for kossie? from Port? Or Crows? He'd be scary good in that Port team.
  2. Would you take pick 11, 31 and future 1st for Petracca? Cameron was 13,15,20 but there was 2 second rounders coming back so it's around the same value. I reckon that's the best we can conceivably get. Alternatively, we can hold him to his contract and watch him run around half rat pace for a year. If the guy doesn't want to play, he doesn't want to play. Good luck with that.
  3. He'll just rebrand with a new number and colours. Depressing to think about
  4. Imo most commentators are stuck in the past here His account is up several thousand in the past few days. It's growing fast. Trac5 is bigger than Collingwood football club social media presence. Ad revenue for social media v TV is about on par these days, it's no small feat. Clicks, views, shares and likes are the new kicks, handballs, marks and tackles for him and right now Brand Petracca is doing pretty well. I've heard this argument - he needs football. Yeah eventually he does but a few months of solid internet traffic def ain't hurting. He's going to leave a legacy alright, bringing the AFL into the modern digital age. Have a look at the AFL ig page if you ever need to get to sleep. Barely any videos, bunch of boring photos. It's pathetic. Compare it to the NFL, heaps of highlight and content. I'm not saying the game needs to be fully Americanised (z?), or even partially but at least get into 2024. This is all about going viral and massive on social media in particular.
  5. This is what we need to be thinking about now. Trades this year can't be taking place in a vacuum. Do we seriously think we are a genuine contender without the number one score involvment player in the comp?? For a team that can't score?? (4-6 without him) I definitely don't. If we draft these nqrs, we probably eek out a 6-12th finish and then struggle through the Tassie charity years. we need to swallow this bitter pill and set us up for the back half of the decade. If it sounds like I'm throwing the baby Trac out with the bath water I am.
  6. Who we talking about. Surely not Kyrgios. He doesn't even play and he's the fourth biggest tennis player on social media. He's left the small world of Australian media and fans way behind. This is what it's about.
  7. By numbers the majority of Trac5 followers are not interested in football. Trac5 is over 2 times his personal account and growing pretty fast. I would not be surprised if he did speak or issue a statement it will be through his ig page.
  8. It does if you assume this is simply not about football. The genie is out of the bottle. His account has grown 2+ percent this month. His engagement rate (comments and likes per followers) is through the absolute roof. His google searches is high. These are his key performance metrics now. As much as we may not like it Brand Petracca is crushing it right now. Integrity, loyalty and character is not needed for social media status and sponsorship. In fact I'd argue the more ego driven the higher you go. Will he permanently damage his brand? If it lasted years, of course. But if it's a 2 month surge he will be much further ahead. Will another club worry of the sort of person they re bringing in? Well, plenty of clubs are willing to overlook past records etc. He will say he's happy to be there, get back to work and they will lap it up, especially if he is able them to get them to a GF on the cheap. Frankly, this sort of stuff happens in other professional sporting codes regularly, this was always destined to happen to AFL, sucks it's us.
  9. Actually his engagement rate is through the roof right now. Go to the comment section. People are asking to keep football off his page. His last recipe shares are massive compared with previous post. (dumplings). His personal page is not the issue here, joining the dots it's the entity that is trac5. Hear you on the nominal amount to sponsor him. It's a range for sure. Yes this is easy cash, you may not find his brand all that special but he'd be in the top 10 of recipe creators in Australia I'd guess. If there are social media brand experts here I defer to them. Can't believe everything Mr google tells me.
  10. A few had been talking about Trac caring about his brand more than his football and I too was somewhat dismissive and naive. But with some of the info that we've heard today it's becoming clear what is happening. The AFL world is being schooled in modern marketing and brand management We were asleep at the wheel with Ginnivan and this fiasco is another example. Sure he could come back to the club or he could just wait it out, bathe in the circus, accumulate the clicks and earn more money. I actually wouldn't be surprised if to get this deal over the line at Carlton, he'll consider to take a pay cut of a notional amount.
  11. This guy has no idea. trac5 has almost 500k followers. You reckon they are all going to leave? Ok, boomer. He can make $10,000 a post. He can post something once every 2 days and he'll be making more money than he does playing football. Wouldn't be surprised if the goal is 1 mln followers, as much as it 300 games.
  12. A point on branding. it's not 1965. We know exactly how this works. This circus is generating clicks, views, conversations. If you don't think your phone is listening to your conversations and then filtering your social media feeds and ads you're living in 2004 (beyond clicks and views). He hasn't been charged with a crime, he will not be cancelled, this is generating more noise and expanding the footprint if anything. I'd imagine there's an idea to take things globally, if he's a national trending topic it sets off 'alarms' from a whole new base. I daresay this site probably had a record day and the ad sponsors would be pleased.
  13. Novel way to cut numbers for the wedding, I'll give him that
  14. @adonski load the Carlton death ride thread please. Giddy up.
  15. If he does play in opposition colours in 25, it will have a level of animosity between the players and particularly the fans not seen since Carey. At least it will be a big crowd for him
  16. Yea starting him at Casey is a bit tongue in cheek but the bigger point is if Trac is unhappy about standards and player responsibility, he maybe can get a taste of his own preferred medicine. We have to be firm here. Buckley is spot on
  17. You don't give a petulant child what they want. I hope he stays and I hope he starts Casey next year for a week. Plenty of players have been dropped for far less showing a lack of respect for their teammates and the club.
  18. Any trade with the Pies obviously has to involve Beau McCreery
  19. Which A grader is going to be asked to or happy to leave their big Victorian club to play for MFC. Would rip the fabric of the other club. Nope, this dog don't hunt. Not this year at least.
  20. I'd love to see him in the Red and the Blue round one next year. at Casey. There's your crowd mate, your move. Trading him for unders would be a massive mistake....... And I can't see how we get value given its not a certain he even gets through a pre season.
  21. Gws for Hogan Port for Hinkley. Dude cops more shizen from his fam base than any other coach. They'll give him both barrels again otherwise.
  22. So basically, his average output over the last four years. Cameo player every day of the week.
  23. It's a fair question but imo we are miles off now unless midfield gets back fully fit. Which is a big if unfortunately. Even then, we have to play defence and contest football. It's pretty obvious we don't have the list to play fast quick ball movement over 24 rounds. We will get killed on turnover every second week which is exactly what's happened all year.. Our youngsters are ok but realistically half a dozen other teams have much better. Geelong and Sydney contend every year cause they have the two best coaches, recruit well, have 'advantages' and adaptable lists that tweak playing method game to game and year to year. We either go all in on contest and defense again or we complete rebuild before they gift Tasmania wins. The AFL is a bit of a joke for a sporting code really. 2 cents and a bit glass half empty I know :(
  24. I've been calling for him in the midfield for eons, but we've had a look and he's not fit enough right now and he def gets a bit lost with the handover stuff. I'm coming around to the idea he should be more a wanganeen milera role off high half back. Either way, its ok we got to see it in an essentially dead rubber. 'learnings'
  25. Hill, Schultz, Elliott, Hoskin Elliot and the future Hall of Famer McCreery. The Pies forward line is FAST. Good luck to our 30 somethings back there.
