  1. Why have I been living my whole life without knowing its not illegal to pull down a woman's top? There are public and indecent exposure laws. Not to mention its a muslim country. Its 100 percent illegal. Whether she consents or not is not what makes it illegal. The act itself is illegal. She just chooses not to prosecute. If she did and if she was a local balinese, he'd potentially be in a jail cell right now. But she wasnt so I agree its a bit of a witch hunt. Media needs to back off here. Definitely taking pot shots because they know it will get clicks. Punishment should fit the crime.
  2. Why are people saying he's done nothing illegal. Its not illegal to pull a women's bikini top down? Genuine question. Surely if she wanted to press charges, he'd be in some serious hot water. I mean it's not world ending stuff, but I've been drunk 1000 times and never thought to do that. Maybe the rest of us were brought up differently. Was he raised by wild animals maybe? It's neanderthal stuff.
  3. I like this idea. Andrews and Adams have his measure. Giving Weed the ruck game could really force him to be physical and crash some packs. I'm sure he would be able to take an intercept mark or two and he would have a significant mobility edge on Oscar.
  4. Carlton have done it semi effectively with Silvagni. But he's a bit taller and heavier and more of a swing player. Brayshaw is way too important to how we set up behind the ball. Majak Daw was brought in for this specific reason. Cover for Max. He will play if fit imo
  5. Have lost contested marks 50-29 the last three weeks and now without the best around-the-ground contested mark in the AFL. Shudder or curl up in a ball?
  6. The Bulldogs are investigating?!?!? The AFL and the Police should be investigating. I'm not jumping to conclusions here, but he's put himself into a posiiton where this demands a drug test. If guilty a years suspension. He's the most popular player in the game. Do that shiz off line you muppet if you're boring enough to do it.
  7. And that often ends in a painful financial burden for the city. But pardon my ignorance but er, what? No roof? Really? Roof for the players or roof for the fans? The requirement a new team needs a fricken stadium shows how delusional the AFL is. The new team needs heart, passion, players and coaches committed, it needs branding, marketing, innovation, the franchise needs wins, culture, long term thinking. The last thing it freaking needs is a roof on its stadium. If thats really what the AFL thinks will make it a success, just stop wasting time and end the effort now. For the record, I dont think numbers make much sense to have a team in Tassie but they didnt for GCS and they gave that a try so who knows
  8. I remember growing up in the 80s and 90s and all the Bomber supporters who were all so smug. And right up until 2000 when yes, they had a truly outstanding team. But oh how it warms the heart to know that since their 2004 elimination final win they've done Sweet. F. A. And it warms it even more knowing with this list they'll do nothing for another 5, probably 10 years. Soft mids, skinny talls and overweight half forwards. Its just so wonderful to watch. The same list manager for 2 decades but yet in total denial its his fault. Lets hope they never sack him.
  9. Seriously, if May wants to say those sort of comments to 'one of his own', he really should be saying them here on this site anonymously. At least he'd get a few likes. Storm. Meet. Teacup.
  10. Agree with your posts tonight DemonWA, but these are not lowly educated people. Unlike say soccer in parts of the world where kids are pulled from schools pre teen, the majority of AFL players are well educated and well spoken, having completed 12+ years of schooling. Steven May went to Melbourne Grammar! Thats not to say well he should 'know better'. Of course he does. The core issue as you suggest is simply alpha male behaviour itself fueled by alcohol. No way any of this happens without alcohol. And as such ill take the well overs on a generation until it being 'stamped out' completely.
  11. Of Melksham, May said the pair remained close despite the altercation. “We’re really good mates, we have a lot of love for each other. Sometimes guys can get a little bit competitive with the banter and go a little bit overboard,” he said. “We certainly made an error of judgement in that time." He made a poor insensitive joke, Melksham understandably took liberties. Melksham probably forgave him in 24 hours. Lets see how long the holier than thou blood bayers on this forum take. Ill set the over/unders at 1 premiership. 🙄
  12. The funny thing here is there is a common element at play. Namely, its really hard to get people to change after a certain age. Petracca will always be a slightly unreliable kick, May will always be keen to sneak in a cheeky pint if he can, "fans" will also be quick to jump on their players and yes, i will be always be bemoaning it. I get it, but heck its just depressing to read. Support really matters when you screw up in life not when you are flying i reckon.
  13. Oh gees. Well, the good thing about how quickly this forum turns on its players, its team and itself for being human and making mistakes is im confident they will surely flip when said humans win a few games and then get the fake "support" back again. Lol
  14. Surely the range of damage from a headbutt when 2 players are grappling is quite limited. Clearly, they are all intentional, unncessary and deliberate. So whats the criteria to determine if its low, medium for high force. You're not going take a 15 metre run up and head butt someone. Ultimately its a shocking look, on a Friday night and deliberate contact to the head from the highest profile player in the league (its 2022 and alas social media determines this) Minimum 3. 4 + sends the message. A shame, cause he was brilliant to watch that quarter.
  15. We have "allowed" more marks than eagles, kangaroos, bombers. A few oppositon teams have chipped it around in their back half leads to a low pressure rating. I think that's the cause.
  16. This will be closest to the pin imo. We havent made wholesale sweeping changes for 18 months. Goodwin has repeatedly said he values continuity and id be shocked if we are dumping 5 or 6 players as some here are suggesting after the first loss in 17 games. Its just not the Goodwin way.
  17. Its still time wasting/impeding play Players can flood back. Yes in this particular circumstance, its unlikely it would have made a difference, but If he was 45 metres out and the goal square was empty it can still be a factor. Just an example of time wasting post the siren.
  18. The game is still alive. If for instance, the tigers player was 50 metres out post siren and he kicked a ball right to the goal square and a swans player coat hangered a tigers player who was trying to shepherd it through the umpire can still award a free kick down field. The game ends when the umpires say it ends. Not when the siren has gone. Another example is when a free kick is awarded between quarters or after a goal is kicked and the clock has stopped. The clock not running is not relevant. Tonight was a 50 metre penalty every day of the week and twice on sundays. The umpires didnt know the rules, they even said in their justification ' he didnt know the siren had gone' . if that was the case, kicking the ball into the stands is a free kick and in this case a 50 metre penalty as a free kick was already awarded.
  19. Im with you Macca. But Rome is the mob. No matter what the rules were or are or will be, in pretty much every sport people have complained, do complain and will complain. (Its just tiresome to read week in, week out). You're right though, even in the medium term it has very little outcome on a clubs fortunes. Clubs arent over analysing or discussing or whinging about umpiring decisions. Apart from the heat of the moment (even thats taken away) they just move on. Why? Because they realise it doesnt matter. Its for the media and the fans to generate emotions and click bait.
  20. This is exactly how i interpreted it. He put himself at 3. It was a throw away question and answer. Max #1 then daylight is probably the right answer.
  21. Imo Carlton are the biggest threat but we have a clear edge in the ruck. Aint going to get away with throwing Silvagni in there. Max will gain 30 metres from every stoppage. Furthermore, around the ground their rucks can't keep up, nullifying other marking threats they have. Having said that if we got an injury or two, they definitely have the weapons to pinch a win.
  22. Death, taxes and complaining about umpiring. I vividly remember growing up fans complained about umpiring. This year its non stop complaining about umpiring. We all follow other sports. And yup, fans complain about umpiring. Ill stick my neck out here and say 20 years into the future people will complain about umpiring. (And i will complain about people complaining!) Maybe one day, we all just let it go, accept the best team wins the flag and move on with our lives. Liberating.
  23. If Milkshake gets off the chain against this mob could be the difference between a 60 point win and a 90 point win. Bit of downhill skiing didnt hurt anyone. Until it does.
  24. Gawn to play the final 2 years on his career at full forward please. Would legit give opposition defenders sleepless nights. He's a 40+ contested mark, 35+ goal kicker well into his mid 30s id say.
  25. Goodwin, the coaches and the players have all bought into a process. Playing for percentage, managing players workloads or trying new things is not part of it. They'll follow the same process whether its the Lions or the Eagles. Dees by 45 (75+ if we are efficient)
