Those recruiters who overlooked him missed out on a 355 game player, long time Cats’ skipper, a quadruple premiership player, a six time All Australian (and three-time captain of that team) and a great of the game. Why could he not become more imposing than BBB (a late developer) with some gym work and a few pre seasons under his belt? By comparison, a lot of people around here are salivating over the rangy stick figure key forward Matt Jefferson who is 194cm, 76kg and while he can admittedly take a grab, he doesn’t have much physicality and, at this stage of his career is by no means a strong man?

There’s a big game later today at Werribee between a Colgate Young Guns team and the Vic Metro U18s. The Colgate team is made up mainly of overage players eligible for the forthcoming AFL Mid-Season Rookie Draft while the Metro team will not be at full strength because it doesn’t contain some of the Metro boys playing schools footy. Should still be a good game.
