  1. Isn’t Uncle Nev employed by Collingwood these days?
  2. The crowd at the Gabba tonight and a few of the Lions players will no doubt let Crisp know what they think of unsociable behaviour towards women.
  3. After that debut, what chance that he picks up a Rising Star nomination?
  4. Me too but let’s not allow the facts get in the way of a good story.
  5. Norwood’s SANFL side is playing against Woodville-West Torrens in a Friday night game and getting flogged late in the third quarter by 10 goals. They’ve only scored a single goal!
  6. WJ’s mystery injury of the week!!!
  7. Duursma is the nephew of Jamie Duursma , son of Dean Duursma who played Under19s and Reserves with Melbourne and a brother of Xavier and Yasmin (Port Adelaide AFL and AFLW respectively).
  8. The fact that Duursma's training as part of the AFL Academy experience doesn't mean we have any ties to him. It's an allocation made on a number of issues including proximity for training purposes. Since we do train at Casey Fields and he's from Gippsland, it's logical that he trains with us - plus the family connection.
  9. Goody sighted in Bali late last week.
  10. Yeah, Mac let the club down but it’s a club that’s languished from the beginning with a poor culture. Perhaps the club’s let the kid down as well.
  11. Is he suggesting here that he’s downgraded his ranking of Melbourne’s drafting efforts because we selected a player with some injury concerns? If so, he would have missed out on recruiting Joel Selwood who sustained a serious knee injury during his final year of junior football that caused him to fall to Geelong's first pick at seventh overall in the 2006 AFL draft. Those recruiters who overlooked him missed out on a 355 game player, long time Cats’ skipper, a quadruple premiership player, a six time All Australian (and three-time captain of that team) and a great of the game. What a dill!
  12. This is the bloke we want but we can’t get to him.
  13. If you’ve seen so little of him, it’s interesting that you conclude that he’s a “small player stuck in a big player’s body” and you wouldn’t take a chance on him as an 18 year old to develop his game. He plays for North Adelaide in the SANFL Under 18s and is 198cm 88kg and has played ruck and key forward roles and kicked goals. Why could he not become more imposing than BBB (a late developer) with some gym work and a few pre seasons under his belt? By comparison, a lot of people around here are salivating over the rangy stick figure key forward Matt Jefferson who is 194cm, 76kg and while he can admittedly take a grab, he doesn’t have much physicality and, at this stage of his career is by no means a strong man?
  14. So this kid gets picked to play in the elite exhibition match for the Australian Academy vs Collingwood, plays well, catches the eye of recruiters, disappears with an injury and conveniently returns on the eve of the draft. Essendon family and Essendon NGA. Nothing to see here. 'It is what he wants': Why explosive NGA talent has eyes set on Dons
  15. I think they gave up on the concept soon after this so Melbourne are still the reigning world champions.
  16. Based on us losing Jayden Hunt, would this bloke be worth a try?
  17. If Tim Taranto is worth 12 & 19, what then is Luke Jackson worth?
  18. Excellent. Tsatas was an early favourite going back well over a year and I have a feeling that his quality will show out on Thursday (I'm assuming he's fit and selected for the Vic Metro team). My question to you is where would you like to see the MFC placed after trading Luke Jackson, any other trades and draft picks?
  19. But were we a better team for having a galah playing for us even with his 75 goals?
  20. Considering how Casey dominated the season they should have had more players in the Team of the Year.
  21. Thanks guys - enjoyed it and hope you come back over the off season to cover the trades and draft etc.
  22. Will be on show in the NAB League Grand Final on Friday evening.
  23. No - it’s 34.
  24. Take it from me (and with a name like mine I should know something about literature), Ian Munro’s book is a bloody good read and worthy as a Father’s Day gift to any Demon Dad. It’s in the Non Fiction Top 10 of the Avenue Booksellers most popular books. Up there with the best!
