  1. Not sure what game people are watching that say we were horrible up forward, 16.9. not only did we kick straight we kicked 100 points without our leading goal kicker for the past 2 seasons. Grundy was fine and if you watch the game closely his presence opens up a lot of other opportunities in our fwd line which is why he floats around the 50m arc and pushing up creating space behind him. with those extra tall targets the likes of ANB, Sparrow, Kossie and Chandler look so much more dangerous with more crumbing opportunities. BBB was good up fwd and T-Mac working hard around the ground and taking fwd 50 ruck which allows both Gawn and Grundy to set up a kick behind play means we will see a lot of opposition turnover leaving our D50 either from kicking to those two or skill errors trying to avoid them. All in all its as much as we could ask for in our first hit out against AFL opposition
  2. he can't play back pocket, unless its on that hybrid type like Gunston. We have the talls on the ground to cover if an injury occurred, i can see us using another one as a sub.
  3. That's in an ideal world. Can't play the sub that way though. Gotta have a versatile player as sub. And with Gawn and Grundy as well as our tall fwds the sub will be a pace option. Personally I think it will be Jordon or Harmes
  4. Agree, I think too many are basing their thoughts of the website alone. The socials: Facebook, Instagram, Snap Chat, Twitter and Tic Tok have regular content on it. And weather people like it or not, this is the future (and very much current) way of posting information. Fact is we are looking to be top 4, and they will only show what they want to show. Whilst I would love to see internal trial footage, I'm happy for them to hold the cards close to their chest at this point of pre-season.
  5. Just an observation i have made from training's. It looks like they have been rotating player for "rests" through the off season. Seams every training there is 2-3 players either on weights or not attending. then they are in full training the next day of training. This is outside of the rehab players although they do sometimes join that group too. Wondering if anyone else has noticed this, could be a good way to not burn them out in pre-season. I like the idea, but if it works it remains to be seen
  6. Hope he keeps Kossie happy in Melbs and helps him sign the contract 😉
  7. So you want to invite a guy that couldn't get a gig over a country footballer?
  8. Whatever gets Kossie closer to signing on the dotted line!
  9. Make sure you call ahead
  10. Unfortunately he only played 1 more game that season after this article and it was the final round
  11. Bowie, Salem and BB for me please
  12. Absolute joke, the VFA was not the best comp in the country. How can you attach premierships saying that? maybe we should start saying the AFL premiers are "World Champs" now too
  13. This is great knows, I believe out side is much better with BB at FF with a fit team. His record speaks for its self, they have obviously managed him very well and hopefully do so throughout the year too, we done need 22 games from him, maybe 12-15 plus finals!
  14. At 200+ CM with apparently bad knees. Could be in the bath tub and id be happy with it!
  15. BB moving like this as a great sign, working him into the season perfectly. I would hate to be picking the fwd line rd 1!!
  16. Kayo are owned by Foxtel, they don't need to worry about that stuff. Already make a squillion.
  17. I dare say so, and possibly on a restricted running program. He was an endurance beast at Coll so I'd say its all precautionary.
  18. Exactly, recon all players in the AFL would have a "History" of coming back not quite in shape over their careers.
  19. Also photos of Gus from the past 2 trainings. Mountain out of a mole hill. Never been gifted with the rig, and is pretty open about that on podcasts and that stupid interview he did in his towel one game. Will be in the 4 man midfield rotation and have his best year since 2018
  20. JVR is good on the ground for a big man, not good on the ground for a small. Brisbane tried the 3 key fwds last yr and it didn't work until one went down. They are not going to play Gawn or Grundy on the Pine, that's very obvious. So we can't play 4 talls in the fwd line and Fritsch
  21. So does T-Mac an BBB, glad I'm not on the selection panel rd 1
  22. Agree we need fresh legs but no way you can take BB, T-Mac, Gawn, Grundy and JVR into a game. So unfortunately one misses out, at this stage I think it's JVR but he will get his chance this year, but he is a 19yo playing the toughest position on the field. Brayshaw is a midfielder, didn’t play wing at all last year. He will be part of the 4 man rotation as he was in the back half of last year. I believe Harmse's position is real touch and go and can see Chandler taking it. And I hope he demands to take it and the competition for spots is tough. Jordon is the perfect sub, he can play Back, Forward and midfield. I dont think we should use a KP in the sub role as we have enough flexibility on field if we lost a KP in game (Gawn/Grundy/Petty to go fwd if we lose a Kbig forward, T-Mac to go back if we lose a back and obviously we have 2 rucks if we lose a ruck)
  23. 4 interchange 1 sub. Just not medical sub anymore
  24. FB: Rivers May Bowey CH: Lever Petty Salem C: Hunter Viney Langdon HF: ANB T-Mac Kossie FF: Grundy BB Fritsch R: Gawn Oliver Petracca Bench: Spargo Sparrow Brayshaw Harmes Sub: Jordon Emg: Tomlinson, JVR, Chandler, Howes
