Interesting that you’re not playing Turner, just can’t see him not playing. I like a 3 tall forward line so I’d probably bring Turner in at the expense of Billing’s and I’d start Sparrow on a wing. I actually don’t get the Billing’s love but even found myself having him in my earlier lineups. I’d love to see Bowey played forward but that seems unlikely.

I think we’ll get beat if we try to go with them in a running game. Thats just not our strength. I think we have to play a forward half game which I think we can win if we kick reasonably straight which is a reasonably sized IF. Nightmares have us at 1.12 in the third quarter to their 8.3

Totally agree, he’s just to tentative as a back man. You can see his brain turning over. I’d love to see him given some time forward and perhaps even fly Turner back.

Cheap shot. Laura Kane is no worse than any other AFL manager as far as I can see. The problem with the AFL is it can largely bumble its way from issue to issue as the game has its own irresistible force. I could manage the game and it would still grow while I play golf and wait for reports done by others.

Possibly although I just can't see how we match them for run on the wide open spaces of the G. I think we'll be forced to bottle it up somewhat and that'll likely be in our forward half as I think our mids will get on top thanks to Gawn. If it does get too crowded I guess we can bring our defenders back and try and force a turnover at HB. It's going to be an intriguing watch. We just have to kick some early goals and not end up 1.8 like we did against Freo. I will add that I think even with Briggs I see our mids getting on top. I sense Gawn, Petracca, Oliver and Viney, along with may, Lever, Langdon and Salem have a real point to prove this year. For some it's possibly the last roll and I reckon there's a resolve about our senior players. I think they know that it doesn't just happen and the teams fortunes largely rest with them.

The AFL won't find anything bar a few if's and maybe's. Geelong are way too smart and if remains way to easy for outside club interests to provide jobs, cars etc for family members of players. Every club would do it. You don't think the Hawks coterie has said get Allan at any cost?
