There’s not a club in the land that couldn’t work out how to get Koz on their list if he wanted to come. Players retire, players get traded, front and back loading, a rising cba, where there’s a will there’s a way.

He clearly drops the ball, it was 50 everyday of the week.

If Freo really want him they can offer him the same deal we have. They can work that into their cap. You can’t tell me they’re paying their list more than we’re paying ours. We just know what he’s worth to us and it’s plenty. We’re bland without him and just about anything is possible with him on our list.

He’s more than just a player like Oliver and Petracca. He’s a marketers dream and yes we haven’t been the best at that but losing him would make us look very foolish. You gotta pay what the market dictates and if he gives us 9 more years of service I reckon we’ll all be happy.

I think with a rising CBA our contract status will be ok. I sense with may and Gawn retiring over the next 2-3 seasons it'll pan out. Now for Jackson.

I watched the Casey game V Collingwood. Jefferson would have completed a thorough training session over the weekend. That will serve him better than playing in the dross that was Saturday night. That's a very harsh assessment of a 22 year old who's played some ripping senior football. I was commentating on why he was selected ahead of Jefferson. The difference is JVR is potentially a far better player and can ruck so gets the nod. If AJ hadn't of been suspended I'd guess they both would have played at Casey.

That’s all correct but next year Gawn and May will be a year older, other competitors will have improved so we have to add talent to the list. From reports it’s a weak, compromised draft and our first pick is in the 20’s. We simply have to add players with elite disposal. So we’re likely to need to trade one or more players. For mine Rivers and Sparrow are the ones. Of course I’d only ever trade them if it improved our team. Of course I want to keep them but we need clean ball users. Imagine if Petracca and Oliver had better disposal, yesterday would be a 4-5 goal win. That’s what we need to be aiming for.

How do we get 2 really good ball users to the club for next season? That’s all this team needs to reset. Simmena? Bergman? Draft pick? I’d love Jackson but how to get it all. Tradeables: some think Oliver (I’m not sure unless the return was high enough) Then there’s guys like Rivers, Sparrow, McVee? Would you can use them to swap for a better ball user? We ain’t getting them for free and it’s what we need. Some brave decisions needed.

Who replaces Petty that seriously makes us better? My answer is no one so he needs to stay where he is.

Yes you can, no one should have a job that demands you regularly put yourself in the frame for a serious concussion. The game has enough chance of serious injury without adding stupidity to the mix.
