  1. I think we'll smash them and then roll the Hawks, that's the win I really really want.
  2. Ins: Turner, JVR.....I think both are part of our best 22 and need to be back in the side. Outs: Fullerton, Sharp.......I'm not sure either is best 22 although Sharp as sub is ok.

We'd have to pay him out 100% of his contract and keep that amount in the soft cap making it very unlikely we would sack him this year.

His contract guarantees him to the middle of next season, it’s really that simple.
  5. So play at Casey until you reach the minimum standard required. His defensive stats are laughable.

We've Kalani White coming through, Will Verrall seems to be progressing ok and Max has 2 after this year. If we can nab an ok ready to go ruck in his mid 20's we should be fine. I'm going to miss Max a lot though, absolute legend and he'll only grow in stature in our memories. He's immortal, joins Barrassi and Flower and then daylight.
  7. Firstly he’s not even in Dusty Martin’s orbit so let’s leave them in different paragraphs. Secondly he’s become lazy. Thirdly, if you can’t harass, tackle and chase then you don’t play, especially in a transition game when sound defence is so important. He’s nowhere near good enough to be excused from the defensive side of the game. Work harder or play at Casey.

Can’t see us not making finals and then taking the flag from 6th Elimination final V Carlton W by 56 Semi Final V Hawks W by 34 Preliminary V Collingwood W by 29 GF V Geelong W by 7 after being 56 points down late in the second. Only having kids would top that 4 weeks. That’s rolled gold!
  9. No, you're talking to you!
  10. You're talking to yourself again.
  11. A modern team doesn’t expect it 100% of the time. It’s outdated rubbish. There are always going to be players taking short steps from time to time. I’ve seen Viney think twice. If it’s the incident I think Langford still ended up with the ball? Ex players are suffering the effects of concussion yet you expect an 18 year old to never flinch. I’d be very surprised if players weren’t told to short step from time to time. It’s the smart play.
  12. Compare his game to Sparrow's, who's fast becoming one of our most important alongside Bowey, in fact Fritsch should be put in a room and told to watch Sparrow's game and he only kicked one goal.
  13. That's the thing though, he doesn't, from time to time every player in the league, bar none, takes a short step to avoid contact. It's instinct. Harvey will likely do it from time to time but he'll still end up one of our sides best players. Anyway it's a pointless argument, you won't admit you're wrong.
  14. Questioning the courage of an 18 year old who's performing at such a high level is ridiculous. Every person who has ever played the game has done it. He's gone back with the flight on several occasions to mark and make spoils yet you pick this out. If you want to see what shirking looks like take a look at Docherty's last month.
  15. Really, which quarter?
  16. I don't hate Sharp as a sub/bottom 6 but I'd love to find someone better. Brown? Sestan? Laurie? Woewodin? No one knocking doors down as yet.
  17. Well you did accuse him of hearing footsteps.
  18. May looks sore all over, has done since Chol broke his ribs. I'd be resting him as much as possible over the season and really working on his mobility in the hope he can influence our last 8 games along with his side kick Lever.

I'm putting a line through Fullerton and now await to see if Kentfield can become that player. For now it's AJ until JVR finds form. Turner back to defence and I reckon Petty stays forward for now. Good problems to have considering how well our young recruits of the last few years are travelling.

I love arvo footy, I'm 75 mins away and night games get me home past midnight. I used to love the big games now I much prefer a weekend game at I.20 with small to mid range crowds. I don't like booking, I like rocking up 30 - 60 mins prior, grabbing a seat with a companion, these days my kids, who are now both loving the footy and then kicking back. Humans, cues, being packed in.....yeh, nah, no longer interested. I did go last night but bar the third the game was pretty meh.
  21. That's an absurd criticism of a 5 gamer.
  22. Next test is Hawthorn in a fortnight. Need a good win against WC. Tempting to take Campbell across and rest Max as much as possible to have him cherry ripe for Meek. No VFL game again is poor timing. Fritsch is miles off it and I’d be trading him on current output. JVR or AJ, Turner and Melksham back in, Fullerton, Sharp and Fritsch out.
  23. Max Gawn
