  1. I’d love the club to say pick 12 or a solid player or it’s the PSD. I know we won’t do it but jeez it would feel good watching him run around for WC.
  2. Just when you think you sound smart!
  3. Jeepers, you sign guys like this as soon as possible. Imagine the next 2 years of media around Kozz if he hadn’t signed. As it is they’ll probably be saying he wants out.
  4. I’ve been told that he’s 100% coming. I will say that this mail comes via a Barista who knows the family. On a tighter ship I’d keep this to myself as little more than hearsay but here on Demonland we roll this stuff around as Fact.
  5. Possibly but Hardwick would surely have watched Petracca this year. I just don’t see him switching out the two and thinking he’s improved their chances. I’d take Humphrey over Petracca in 2026 everyday of the week.
  6. Agreed but if you’re GC why do you let him go for Petracca when he’s contracted on low money for 3 more years? This is the bit that has the question marks around it and is the reason we’re even in the conversation to land him. It’s what’s in those question marks that makes this intriguing.
  7. MFC in the Bailey Humphrey section
  8. Yes but the other clubs do t have the Petracca Chips we do
  9. We’ll have to agree to disagree on this. My theory on Humphrey is his manager is trying to get his client more dollars, likely by squeezing GC. My thoughts are he’d be needing some offers from outside clubs to make this happen. That’s where we knock him over and make us his next club. Either way it’s all a long shot.
  10. I’m sorry but that makes even less sense. “We’ll give you more money but you have to commit to us before we tell you how much”
  11. Personally I reckon his manager is angling for a contract bump for his young star. $800k is cheap on the open market and the number will likely come out soon enough.
  12. Why would Humphrey nominate us before we show him the money? Makes no sense.
  13. We’re simply not getting him for a million a year. It’ll be $1.5million x (“insert ruinous number of years here”) He’s exactly the player this club needs. This deal would change our club for the better overnight. I seriously don’t think that’s hyperbole although I’ve pumped a lot of caffeine today.
  14. IF Humphrey nominates us and we start the bidding then we really should be able to get this deal done without cashing in all our chips. Give them Pick 23 this year. It’ll be the swindle of the century if we pull this off though.
  15. Pick 3-6 in 2026 can’t be on the table. Next years draft is very important to us.
  16. This is surely the salt being rubbed into the wound of a club that had its 2 biggest stars burn out in front of our eyes. The FD should be ropeable about this happening.
  17. I doubt he’d turn over in bed if we didn’t offer at least this.
  18. Surely we’ve been speaking with him as well. I’m guessing there’s this tiny possibility of prying him out of the GC. I’d say Petracca puts us ahead of anything the other clubs can offer if, and it’s a massive IF, Humphrey actually chooses to come to us. If I’m GC I’m laughing at the possibility of Humphrey leaving for Petracca. That’s the equivalent of us trading Petracca in 2019/20 for say, Travis Boak. For mine it only happens if senior GC and/or AFL management want/make it happen and that’s heading into conspiracy territory which I’m not great at. On top of this we’d surely have to go close to TDK contract terms to go beyond a walk around the tan. Still I’ve got my hopeful hat on.
  19. In what world do we allow Clayton Oliver to play for Collingwood? Can you imagine our next loss to them with Clayton hugging and high fiving Maynard and co. Just let that sink in, like really sink in, go on breathe it right in. Surely you’ve got enough pain down there without adding that to it!
  20. No we need next years first because it could well be pick 3
  21. I think many on here over rate where Petracca sits in the league as a mid. He’s hesitant of forceful body contact, has terrible disposal, can burn others in better spots and isn’t quick. Yes he’s still got other attributes that make him a really good player but Humphrey has way more upside and could lead our midfield for a decade. GC aren’t giving us Humphrey and picks. That’s a dream, Humphrey is very likely a dream. I could easily see us sending pick 23 and Petracca to them if indeed Humphrey somehow nominates us.
  22. Thats what I’d say if I was GC. You’d be nuts to swap Humphrey for Petracca. I’d say Humphrey is the superior player right now. The only way it gets done is if Humphrey drives it and that’s unlikely and still no guarantee. We’d need to offer stupid money to get him out. Still I remain foolishly hopeful.
  23. Are you seriously telling me you turn down such an offer?
  24. Personally I can’t see a world where GC give up Humphrey and then throw in a pick. It’ll be him for Trac if we get very very lucky.
