If Danger got 3 be good result for us....I am not a Danger fan but I am no sure..... Looks like he lined him up in slow motion but in normal speed he was charging at him to tackle. Kelly handballs then Danger can’t really avoid contact so he braces/bumps. Big hit. Poor Kelly. His Vlastin GF hit looked bad in slow mo also but nothing happened there Will be interesting

Scrappy but I’ll take it. I can see where we will improve. Freo could have made us real nervous by taking some chances in the last. But in saying that we missed some real sitter set shots - could have easily won by 45+ Lever awesome. BOG easily. May very good. I like Petty but he will have to wait. Tomlinson was also good. Kozzie showed some really good signs. Rivers had some turnovers but also had some really good moments. Jackson that last mark was a wow moment. His body change from year 1 to 2 is quite exceptional. Credit to him. Mids struggled with clearances but good to see some different names used through the middle. Jordon, Sparrow, ANB and Kozzie ect. Viney back in soon and Yze will find the right mix. Good to see a mix up here.

I went to the Dogs marvel game and the whole herded like cattle into sections, specific entry and exit points, although understandable was a real turnoff for me. As a 5 game country member Freo at the G had little appeal other than being round 1.

Good analysis of the early draw CHF, - looks favorable for us. Just hope the draw stays the same. We all remember the Cairns debacle but ironically we were supposed to play the Swans and Dockers in rounds 5 and 6 last year.

POSTGAME: Practice Match vs Bulldogs
Pulp Fritschon replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Dogs had the ball yesterday we didn't. We were missing some key mids and it was preseason. I am not going to get that down about yesterday. Injury avoidance is the main thing in these games. Hope May is ok -
Melbourne midfielders have to park egos

I wish this article was written when the start the year 8-1 and is sourced from what people see rather than us broadcasting it now. Communicating this now just seems to put a target on our head. Melbourne all talk again ect. I am a very positive supporter and I know positivity is good marketing but I just wish the positivity coming from the club ( been huge this week) would just be turned down a few notches until we actually do something. -
They play GWS first round at Giants stadium.....then Round 2 at Marvel against us being their first home game of the year making it that much harder for us to get a ticket I'd say.

2021 AFL Supplemental Selection Period.
Pulp Fritschon replied to cantstandyasam's topic in Melbourne Demons
In the stream Friday Tim Lamb said Deakyn was training with the club as an NGA and could only train with us once a week due to that. I assume his NGA status has carried over to this year. Makes sense that it would. -
2021 AFL Supplemental Selection Period.
Pulp Fritschon replied to cantstandyasam's topic in Melbourne Demons
Not sure if this has been mentioned (haven't gone back through the entire thread) From Tim Lamb's comments on the live stream Friday and reading between the lines a bit - given the NAB league has gone to a 19 year old rule this year - Deakyn Smith will still be eligible for us to take as a NGA in next years draft. Can anyone confirm this? From what I have read and heard he looks like a good prospect but the urgency to take him in the SSP is not really there unless we wanted him to play this year. We can let him tick over in the NAB league and still have first dibs on him next year. ( The new NGA rules then may come back to bite us) -

The two players either side of Trac - any ideas? -
TRAINING: Friday 12th February 2021

Great Report Pickett. Love reading this stuff in particular! Go Dees! -
10-12 gee that sucks. At least it is February and 6 of those will be eaten up prior to round 1. Lets hope it is isn’t a wasted year for him and Sammy gets back on the park for 15 games plus finals.

Very happy to hear Hunt is training with the backs. Going back to 2016 & 2017 he looked a potential A grader. It wasn't just his run and dash that impressed me, I thought he looked good defensively where he showed good commitment. Definitely has the pace to line up on those small forward types. With Nev struggling I hope this works out.

Kozzie will be good. Brings a lot to the table but what most pleases me is his kicking. He is near technically perfect on both feet.

Projected Best 22's 2021
Pulp Fritschon replied to AaronDaveyChipsAndGravey's topic in Melbourne Demons
With what they bring I can easily see Bowey and Laurie being best 22 next year. Could be as early as round 1. -
Good draw. More positives than negatives. Hard draw coming home but would rather that the other way. Get the win loss ledger in the right direction early and build from there. Looks like we have finally got the right outcome around our Alice and QB games. After the Alice game we will have a minimum 8 day break into QB. Then we have the bye after QB. Floating fixture allows for some decent timeslots if we are showing a bit. Also I see the Bombers have to play down at Geelong (first time in 28 years I believe). They are really on the nose these days. Nice.

Good. A low key round 1 game at home. Won’t be a big build up to this and I think it is best we have a low key preseason. Get the work in for sure but we don’t need to tell the world how good we are tracking. Less emotion, less fanfare, more winning.

If we move to Casey full time it wouldn’t be to grow our supporter base it would be to give our club the best chance to win a flag. Pert/Bartlett are on the new base close to the G ticket and I hope it happens. But I just wonder if it doesn’t get up in the next few years maybe they or the next CEO/President might have to look strongly at Casey. Be an absolute massive call but maybe the sensible one given our current setup and ongoing endless search.

Negative - On the road again Positive - We play two weeks in a row and we get a Friday night game ( telecast into VIC)

I stumbled upon and watched the GWS draft night video. Some observations - - Clubs didn't enter selections via computer, they rang them through - GWS didn't rate Cox or Perkins in their group of players they targeted. They must have rated Reid. They were happy to get Bruhn. (could sense some dislike towards the Bombers) - Chapman was on their list but Freo took him. They then took Stone who they rated. - They were going to select Laurie with pick 24. When we picked him they did a trade with Collingwood for their future 1st pick

Welcome to Demonland Bailey Laurie
Pulp Fritschon replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Really like what I see and read about Laurie. That step he has reminds me of Sam Mitchell. -
We had plenty of options at 21 & 22 and I like what we went for - ZIP!!!! Exactly what we needed. Don’t see these guys as small forwards in the Kozzie mould at all. Will add to our mix around the midfield/wing. And both look excellent kicks. I like this very much.
